Ron is an incredibly friendly guy and works hard to fit you in at a time that works for you. He s trustworthy and sometimes doesn t charge for certain parts or labor depending on the job. I trust him with my car 100% and I wouldn t take my car to anyone else in the Sacramento area.

They are slow yet attentive. They close for lunch to 2 pm. I think 12 to 2 pm. Their lunch hours are not posted.They are patient with Deaf customers. Will use paper and pen to write back and fro. They don t overcharge you. They are good at getting estimates first before doing any repair work.

Ron is always very friendly and what I really appreciate is that he will tell you the truth. He doesn t up charge or make up problems that don t exist. I trust him to best service my car needs!

Ron is just the nicest fellow you could ever hope to have work on your vehicle. Never have I ever felt so comfortable with a mechanic. So honest and not trying to upsell anything. He's A-1

Ron does a great job, and fair on pricing. I started to go to A-1 when I lived in the area. I moved a hour away yet still have reasons to occasionally be in the area. So I still have Ron take care of my service and repairs. It's worth a little extra time and effort to have a place you know and trust.

Our local Shell station service guy wanted $580 to do a fix it job. A-1 said he could do it $350 and ended up charging $280. I have had nothing but excellent service at very reasonable prices. This is our go to place for all service work !

Super friendly, quick service with reasonable prices. Was driving through town and needed to get a battery replacement on my Mercedes GL 450. They were able to take care of it in just a few hours, right after I called!

Great experience working with Ron and the team at A-1. They replaced my driver side mirror along with various general maintenance. He was friendly, professional, and very honest and saved me considerable time and money with his advice. Ron was honest and saved is over $3,000. The dealer quoted $4k and said 2 additional repairs were needed that he didn t see. We will definitely be going back.

My dad and grandfather ran auto service station when I was a kid. My dad taught me a lot about cars and great customer service that I have followed all my years. A-1 Auto Repair reminds me so much of how my dad ran his business.The owner Ron runs his shop the same way. Ron knows what he is doing, treats his customers correctly and his pricing is very fair. You can trust your car and wallet with Ron. He is the first mechanic other than my dad to call me up while doing a repair and tell me that after getting a closer look he did not need to replace a part after all. A-1 Auto Repair is now my go to repair shop and I highly recommend Ron.

Ron could not be more accommodating. I had used A-1 several times, and he was able to fit me in with little notice most recently. He's a decent guy who does affordable and decent work. This shop is amazing! Finally, a mechanic you can trust to give you a good price and not an over quote with stuff you don t need. Got repairs on two different vehicles done here (full a/c replacement on one and clockspring for airbag and secondary air injection pumps on another) and at a better quoted price than my regular mechanic. I was a little skeptical when I first called because usually great mechanics can't get to your vehicle for weeks. But they fit us in quicky for both repairs (done months apart) and everything works great now! Ron is the man and knows his stuff. I already knew what I needed for both vehicles and some of the other places I called told me they would need to do a full inspection first to make sure that was actually the problem. But Ron just asked all of the pertinent questions and determined what was needed over the phone. I'll be back soon for some more repairs!

Ron is awesome. Good prices, good service, and always honest work. He never tries to up-sell anything, even gave me my money back one time after a quick inspection revealed he wouldn't be able to fix the problem on my wife's car.

Amazing! I've been going here for oil changes, tune ups and getting help with problems on my car for 3 years and I would not go any where else! Ron knows people by name and is really considerate. He and his crew get everything done in a timely manner. I was updated frequently and always overall happy with the service.

Ron is a great mechanic. Professional, easy going, and willing to fit you in despite a typically heavy workload. Great communication, which helps to diagnose any issues with your vehicle. Central location makes him convenient for most folks in Sacramento.

Good service and good prices. The serviceman did the job as expected, gave recommendations and topped off everything during a routine oil change. He made no effort to up sell us like quick lube places frequently do. He also gave us quote on other need services that seemed very reasonable. It was crowded when we got there, but we had an appointment and were in and out as expected (faster then we could eat lunch).

I admit I was pretty wary of a mechanic that has full 5 stars on yelp with over 120 reviews. However, I found people that rated other mechanics poorly had stated A-1 Auto Repair was the place to go.So I went!My car was often not starting. I was lucky to get it to A-1 Auto Repair and they gave me the diagnostic fee of $95. Unfortunately, they could not replicate the issue and offered to keep it overnight. I should have suspected something like this would happen since my car started without issue...They tried all the different things I thought caused the car to not start (being in the sun, running for a long time, A/C, etc.) but my of course my car started perfectly each time! There were clues that led them to believe it was likely to be my distributor - but they were honest and stated that I should not pay to replace it since they could not give a definitive diagnosis. In fact, because they could not replicate the issue they gave me a discount! They were honest with me so I was willing to pay in full, but they told me that if the issue becomes consistent I could bring it back and pay the rest then.In short, A-1 Auto Repair is 100% deserving of their 5 star rating.

This is the first online review I've ever written: Ron is the most competent, most honest, most friendly mechanic I've had in 44 years of owning and driving cars. I'm almost reluctant to shout out about him because I don't want to start a gold rush and lose my own little gold mine in the process. But he's worth it!

I started off going to this place simply because of their price for their oil change and quickly realized the owner and mechanic was a little bit different. I work down the street He was very accommodating as far as me dropping off my vehicle and picking it up but he made me aware of minor issues that most places would charge you for which in the end ended up being preventive maintenance for a later engraver issue. Not to mention upon recommendations to other people they've experienced the same genuine automotive care. So whether it be an oil change basic maintenance or some unfortunate automotive issues stop by and treat your car right

We are regulars here now and they know our names and vehicles without looking us up. Super friendly staff. Super quick for a standard oil change. Very reasonable pricing. They care about you and your vehicle. You aren't just another wallet to dig into when you walk through their door. We won't be going anywhere else.

My husband and I popped our tire and were driving down the road and found this awesome place! They are very reasonable and have great quality and service! Thanks A-1 Auto for helping my family out. Highly recommend this place to anyone in need of tires. Very dependable even open on 4th of July.

We made a roadtrip across America and needed an oil change. We heard about Ron from a friend and knew he was the guy. He got us in right away and checked out the whole car. He was honest and kind and did a really good job!

Great service. My car was making a weird grinding noise when I started it up after work. Brought the car in within an hour of closing time and they agreed to look at it without any problems. They changed out the oil and so far it's looking good. At the end they said to bring it back anytime if the trouble persisted and they would try diagnosing. I really appreciate them trying to help me out on the spot like that. Plan on returning for future maintenance.

Ron is very nice and honest. He doesn't pressure you on unnecessary add ons and provides warnings on possible upcoming maintenance for your car. This is my go to auto shop.

Affordable and quick, but remember that an oil change only buys you an oil change here. Meaning, you won't be warned about low fluids in other critical areas of your vehicle. If you're able to monitor your own vehicle's fluid, and know your way around a car, then I do recommend A-1 over other service places offering similar prices.
