Refreshing experience.Such an honest, wholesome crew. Very upfront about services and they know their German cars. Fair pricing, clean and quick work.Most appreciated was the fact that they will not try to do any services or repair that are not needed and are very upfront with their opinions, will tell you exactly what they think that needs done and will advise against any repairs or maintenance that can wait, which is not common at all, and highly appreciated.Kudos!

I want to take this time and sincerely compliment John Dobson and Austin Davies of German Auto Services. I had just purchase a used Mercedes S550 and was very happy with my new beautiful car when I started having one and then two strut problems . John and Austin both did not believe that both struts would go out at the same time , after several test and asking me to drive the car it was decided to replace both struts.I almost tried to buy the struts without German Auto Service help to save some money, I AM so glad I had them order and purchase the struts, after Austin put the first pair of struts on, we had codes, etc. Both men told me to bring the car back in , tested it, had me drive the car some more with more codes from the struts.To make a long story short both of these men, stayed with me the entire way (talking with me, assuring me that they were going to stay with this until my car is perfect in regard to this problem , talking with their parts supplier, putting struts on three (3) times with NO EXTRA CHARGE! Finally, after the third time the struts worked and there were no more codes on the car. I knew about these two men before, but now I know them both at a much deeper level, I know their character, attention to detail, and their desire for excellence. They have a customer for life in me. Fast, Accurate, and caring serviceBeen going to Dobson s for years now. They provide excellency in all they do. They won t overcharge you for services and won t trick you into unnecessary work. I ve got 186,000 miles on my BMW 535i and still going strong thanks to Dobson.

Took my BMW in to have the brakes inspected one of my brakes was over heating and the brake light was on. The front right brake pistons were not retracting like they should. This was not an intermittent issue.They told me nothing was wrong with it and did something else I didn t ask them to do. Charged me $170 without getting any sort of answer.What I m mainly upset about is that they didn t even take the wheel off. I know this because the pads were not all that worn the sensor wire was just rubbing. They wanted me to come back to a second round of diagnosis and pay again. This is the only shop I take my e39 to in the past 5 plus years I've had it. I greatly appreciate their Customer service as well as the actual services done to my car. They make it easy and fast with quality work. If you're near the Roseville or citrus heights area, and have a German car, try out their shop and see for yourself.I'm not wise when it comes to cars and what needs fixing, so Austin has actually explained each area that needed attention with the main details I need to know. In conclusion I always know what's getting fixed and why, and then how much in total I can expect.

Im not the type that typically writes reviews on businesses, however I m more than happy to share my experience with Dobson s.I ve only had my car in twice for various maintenance items and they have delivered both times. The work they perform is top notch and the prices are very reasonable. The end price that I paid for my repairs was the same exact as I was quoted and the work was completed when they said it would be. I haven t had the chance to meet any of the mechanics, but John s very professional and a pleasure to deal with.I m glad that I found them and I wouldn t consider taking my BMW anywhere else.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

New to the area, I was looking for a place to have my MB GL450 serviced. Took it to a dealer and although they did a good job, it wasn t inexpressive, as they never are. Thought I would try Dobson s for the next scheduled maintenance. Not only was the cash layout only one fourth of the dealer s price, everyone was so nice. And no upsale pressures.John Z., Roseville

I changed from using a dealership to this independent repair business because they don't try to push things down my throat when it comes to recommendations about what should be fixed. Auto repairs - especially for a Benz - are expensive, but I felt more comforatable with their approach to advising me about how and when to service my vehicle. Austin in their front office is great and the owner is very approachable.Service: Transmission

I am so happy I found these guys. Austin and John are fantastic. I recently brought in my 550i with a check engine light stating oil level sensor malfunction. Sensor was fine it was actually the alternator. Austin and his team went above and beyond with this diagnostic/repair and kept me in the loop during the whole process. If you own a BMW you need to use Dobsons German Auto. Great people who do great work. Thinking of Dodson sI always feel good about coming to Dodson s because I think they have my back. Sure, they have a business to keep up but they are also friendly, competent, kind and honest. They look after my Z3 keeping me safely and comfortably on the road. In my last visit, Austin expertly diagnosed that the ac compressor (on a motor that has over 200,000 miles on it) is failing and needs to be replaced and possibly another component, the expansion valve. In quick order, Austin replaced the compressor and later the expansion valve - all while I was waiting. So now, with my ac blowing refreshing cold air inside my car against the outside predicted valley summer heat of 109 degrees this week, I think of Dodson s.RecommendedService: Air conditioning

I have always trusted Dobson's but on this visit they more than proved they were an honest company.I wanted a transmission service. The accidently quoted me a price for an automatic. I approved the price then they serviced my BMW. They realized it had a manual transmission and then corrected my quote downward. It saved me hundreds of dollars. Quick, courteous, reasonably priced!My wife and I are very happy with our service of our 2014 Mercedes-Benz E350 Coupe performed by Dobson's German Auto Service. I was able to schedule my appointment timely, and our service was performed quickly. Dobson's provided service recommendations that were needed as opposed to inflating issues to increase our bill. We are new to the area and wanted to find a non-dealer foreign auto mechanic. We're happy to have found Dobson's!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

We just moved to Roseville and needed to find a shop, quickly, for our elderly but much-loved X3 after it developed a mss. John Dobson's shop was chosen based on good reviews and proximity, and was terrific to work with. They corrected the issue promptly and at very reasonable charge, and the car runs better than I remember it running in a long time. Smooth, mileage up about 10-15% from where it was. The technician clearly found and corrected the issue, and the cost of the repair was very good. The parts were less than I used to pay from Bavarian Autosport, and I didn't have to do the work. Our thanks to John, Austin, and the crew!

Awesome experience...being new to Sacramento, my brake light came on after I had a complete brake service in Phoenix AZ.I did my research on German car mechanics in the Citrus Heights area and choose Dobson's German Auto. From the time I first walked the door until my issue was fixed, I felt at home.They looked at my issue and showed me where the rear brake sensor cable had snapped.We called my mechanic in Phoenix and both shops worked to gether to resolve the issue and cost.I was in and out, issue resolved and a big smile...AWESOME experience.

I was greeted by John Dobson and Austin, the technician carefully inspected our 528i BMW to address our AC issue. The service was completed on-time and resolving the problem. Overall, we felt very comfortable with the professional and level of detail Dobson's German Auto Service attended to our car.

Dobson's is hands down the best place to take your car to be repaired, serviced etc. The team at Dobson's are very professional and always looking out for your best interest and not just there to make money. I've been taking my cars there for 10+ years and would not think of going anywhere else. Give them a try you will not be let down!!!!!Service: General repairs & maintenance

Let me start off by first saying these guys are awesome. I am very very very picky with who works on my car and where I take it to be worked on and the quality I expect is very high and after being disappointed by the actual bmw dealer multiple times I was in need of a major repair it was extremely stressful to even decide where I was going to take my BMW M5 this isn t just any normal Bmw this is pretty much a full on race car that s extremely temperamental and complicated to service. So Dobson s was recommended to me I had about 7k worth of work done including paint and engine work as well as wheel wells and under panels done it was all done flawlessly also keep in mind the same service at BMW was almost 18k!!! These guys really took care of me and my car. Good job guys

So took my 99 c280 in because of misfire issues I was having. Took about a day for them to figure out what was causing it and once you guys figured it out you had the parts and instantly replaced which solved the problem. Paid an EXTREMELY reasonable price and didn't even charge me extra for the labor. Everyone was extremely polite, respectful, and a kind face with great customer service. Definitely recommend for anyone needing work on any German cars and I will definitely be returning when the time comes!!!! Thank you guys so much!!!!

John and his team of mechanics have taken care of our MB s for many years. Our 87 300TD is well taken care of and one John prepped when it arrived from Germany while he was at Von Hausen . I choose the best mechanic and it happens to be GAS! If you want 5 star service, Dobson s GAS will meet your expectations as he and his team continue too for our service.-FLarsh

Just had a Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) on an older Mercedes I have admired a long time. John and his staff were wonderful, thorough and incredibly knowledgable. Best money I have ever spent before buying a car. Would use them again and recommend them highly.

For those who are looking for the absolutely best overall balance of price, quality, and genuine customer care/service, I have not found any other place in all of Sacramento, let alone Roseville. Their quotes are among the most competitive and their quality is better than any we've been to. They will look for all issues and provide full disclosure on how serious it is and if/when they recommend you get it worked on. They genuinely care and if it gets up there in price they will do what they can within reason to work with youThi is the place we will be going to for all of our BMW service needs

We have been taking our 1972 MB 350SL there and they have taken great care of the car at a very reasonable cost. John is great to deal with and has gone out of his way to get some fairly rare OEM parts for us. We will keep taking our car there as long as we continue to drive it.

I have been associated with Dobson's for a number of years depending on what I am driving. I have found the entire crew to be kind, friendly, knowledgeable, and above all honest. Their prices are fair and the expertise they offer is difficult to find in the broken world we live in. I highly recommend Dobson's if you need the help they offer.

I have been coming to German Auto Service for over 20 years. There is no other place to go if you own a Mercedes (or BMW) in the Sacramento area. Honest answers and fair rates keep people returning.Thanks for being there for my 2 cars that have over 527,000 miles between them!MM

John the owner couldn't be more friendlier or honnest. It does appear that he has new service writers more often than I'm used to. The prices are very reasonable for the services provided. A reminder when owning a Mercedes or BMW , it is more expensive in parts and labor.
