The best mechanic in the Delta Area BAR NONE. Jim always did me right. Had my 2004 Hyudai Accent ALWAYS running at tip top condition as well as my mom's 2005 Accent. I recommend him highly. He and his guys always do great work. My only complaint is that I couldn't take him with me to Reno. I can't find a decent mechanic anywhere up here. COME TO RENO JIM I MISS YA!

What an incredible business and business owner. Our family was stranded at a local Rio Vista gas station and James happened to see us broken down as our tow truck arrived. We had our pop-up trailer, kid and dog in the back seat and thought we were going to miss our 4th of July camping trip. He was kind enough to ask us if we needed any help and helped diagnose our battery/starter issue. Not only did he see if he could help us and figure out the problem. He figured out the issue quickly and helped get us on our way. By far the best mechanic we ve ever met and/or worked with. Driving from Oregon I snapped a steering linkage bar. I lost all steering and decided to have truck towed to Rio Vista Auto Repair based on the reviews I had read while waiting for the tow truck. They opened at 8am and had my truck repaired by noon. I was in Ca for work. They saved my week and my truck has not felt this smooth on the road in years. I want to express my gratitude and appreciation for the quick and thorough repair.Service: Steering & suspension replacement

I have a two month old daughter. I purchased my car September 2019. My AC was blowing out warm air so I looked for a local mechanic. I am not familiar with Rio Vista, Ca so I just googled and came across this auto repair shop. In addition I am single mother I have a son 8 years old, and a 14 year old daughter. When I first received services July 16, 2020. I was very happy with customer service and my AC was blowing cool air when I left. Levi one of the mechanics had outstanding customer service and dropped me off and pick me up when services where done. On 7/25/2020 I noticed that my AC unit started blowing hot air again. I called AL one of the mechanics that answered the phone set me up a appointment right away and I felt extremely comfortable and happy they could help me to see what's going on because the AC is doing the same thing. On 8/4/2020 I drop off my car Levi same mechanic as last time drops me off at home and stated they will call me once they figure out the issue. I dropped my car off 8am I didn't hear from anyone all day. I work from home so my phone is always at my hip side. I had not received a call so I call the mechanic to check the status by this time it's 4pm. I was informed they will be keeping my car over night to complete repairs. I was okay with that I work from home no big deal. The next day on 8/5/2020 I wait all day to receive a update. It was around 2:30pm I call the owner James answers the phone and says my car is complete. While explaining what repairs he completed on my car I clarify the information and inform him that I was told by one of your mechanics that you put dye in the car to find a leak the first time I brang the car. He stated that no we did not. I ask that he speak to the staff member that told me this information. James the owner said "that person can't help you and your not getting free services!" Here is where James "the owner " was unprofessional first you should have spoken to your staff because when I arrived to the shop the mechanic admitted that he made a error and he did tell me dye was put in the car. People make mistakes I wasn't mad. The thing that upset me was when James "the owner" raised his voice at me unnecessary and accused me of trying to get free services. He knew nothing about me. First, I'm a single mother that lives almost 2 hours away from my family and I was just looking for a good mechanic close to my new home. Secondly, I work extremely hard. I work three jobs apparently you have to make good money to live in a brand new house in Rio Vista. I would never expect free services for any hard work anyone does. What I won't tolerate is being disrespected and this is why I will never come to James shop for any repairs. I ask my daughter father to call to clarify certain information. James stated that if my system goes out again I possibly have a leak they put dye in the unit which will indicate where the leak is from. You kept my car for 24 hours to tell me the issue is not resolved that's also concerning to me. As I mentioned I have 3 children. The main goal of my visit was getting this issue resolved so my children and I can have cool air while I'm driving to and from where I need to go. Instead I recieved uncalled for disrespectful customer service because James assumed I was fishing around to get free services. Next time you should inform any customer you have what the problem with the car before completing the repairs, call with a update I know it can get busy but this is needed someone should have called me, and be respectful apparently all I was trying to do was explain what I was told he could have said I'm sorry that information was false or a error and I would have understood instead he wanted to dismiss it. I needed to confirm what was done to my car. I want to be able to relay the information to my family who's always concerned. I told James his loss he lose a customer that's honest , willing to pay for any services provided to me. I hope he realizes you can't just talk to people how ever you want that will run people away. I have always had a good experience here. James does good work and gets it done quick. I have had a few friends I recommended him too and they were also happy with the work done on their cars.

I highly recommend going here for your vehicle. I had some work done on my car and they got me right in and it was extremely quick. They are very nice and talked to me about everything that they did. All around it was an enjoyable experience.

Pros & ConsPros;1. James & crew makes you feel like family.2. Very personal & honest. He actually asked me what my truck was doing and its history.3. Fast & reasonable price in town. Just be sure the hours=$ in his price book; $50 diagnostic, you cannot beat that.Cons;1. Too many jobs at one time; work being done too fast.2. No post check up/inspection of work after the job is done. Hence other parts going bad or become loosen from prior work.3. James backs up his employees work even though its wrong.4. Employees verbal knowledge skills unclear or inadequate. No one should have to make multiple trips in one week and spend $1000. Their explanation, "Its all theory", "one thing breaks down, other things go bad too."Ex. Has this ever happened to you? If so be very weary of yhis establishment;Monday, I take my vehicle to Rio Vista Auto because it was overheating and running rough when going from 50-60 mph; they changed the transmission fluid and threw a belt in. No biggy. Tuesday the next day, my vehicle overheats and Im broke down on I-5 freeway and Laguna. Had to wait until it cooled off to make it to exit Twin Cities and barely made it home. Wednesday, brought it to Rio Vista Auto; changed temperature guage. Ok, this must be science, who knew. Thursday morning, THE NEXT DAY, my car doesnt start, doesnt even make a clicking noise! I had to tap on the starter while my neighbor turned the key to get it started; took it straight to Rio Vista Auto; they tested and said "nothing is wrong with my starter." I say, "Ive been back 3 times in less than a week, youre telling me "mechanics" is all theory and things just break down after another !? NO, Heart surgery, Electrical Engineering, Weather predictions, Quantum Physics, this is all theory. Mechanics, its either you dod it right or you did it wrong. I asked this employee of James, "what would you do if you had came back 3 times and spent $1000 in less than a week? He says, "get a new starter installed", as he smiles at me. Since then I have not been back there and my starter has been fine. A little fishy if you ask me. Border line "call Curtis" from channel 13 fishy.RECOMMENDATION;Try Contra Costa Auto. They may be slow but that means youll get your car fixed with the attention/workmanship you and your car deserves.

Newer or an oldie, these guys know cars. Very reliable and trustworthy. I d leave my kids here if I could.

They wanted to charge me $600 to change a sensor which cost me half of that elsewhere. Owner is very unprofessional as well
