Pretty quick service with resonable pricing.Very cooperative staff. Tom is very genuine and super fast.I only go to this place from last Six Years. I prefer this place better and best compared to other smog services in ridgecrest.Current price for smog - my 2014(June 10,2021) Honda Civic EX-1.8L .. $52.95Just doing smog today April 26,2022 for my another Honda, 2012 model .. same price $52.95. Took only 20 minutes today.. awesome service and hospitality.Duration for smog check .. including paper work - Max 25 to 30 minutes.

Had a great experience with Nelson's Automotive! I lost my key, & they had a new one ready for me within an hour or 2! And costing much less than expected! The whole staff very friendly, & Tom was a great help!

As Nelson's is the only distributor of Tommy Gates in Ridgecrest, I asked them for a quote. They said they would get me one. A month later I asked if they'd sent it (and I'd just missed an email or something). They admitted they had not but promised I would have a quote by the end of the week. That was four months or so ago. Today I picked up my truck with a Tommy Gate installed by a distributor in Bakersfield.The worst part is that I wasted two months waiting for a quote from Nelson's that would never come. If they didn't want my business, they could have just told me that up front.

I had a really good experience here. Every single person that worked here was very polite and willing to be as helpful as possible. I was having trouble getting my smog check, and Nelson s made a potentially stressful situation so much better for me. I will without a doubt go back there.

Recently felt like I needed my brakes to be looked at as I was starting to hear some abnormal noise. I called Nelson s Auto and they got me in right away for a brake safety inspection. Thank goodness they did cause my front brakes were close to being metal to metal. My rear brakes were almost as bad.The owner and staff treated me awesome and the price was more than reasonable !!!I HIGHLY recommend Nelson s Automotive for your cars service needs !!!

Suspension, and new tires, mount and balance. $3500 thats with my warranty covering 1 of the struts plus labor so, a little over $4000. Also took it in at this time because my truck was leaking fluid. I was told it is nothing and nothing was leaking. Drove it home, parked it, and it started leaking again. No coolent in the reservoir which I asked about and again was told it was at the right level. This was after they had it for 2 days. before they closed on the 2nd day told them I was coming to get it and couldn't be without it. They still had it apart for whatever reason. Turned out to be the water pump was leaking. Got the water pump replaced. T and T gave me new tires, mount and balance and all new struts for $2500 out the door without the warranty covering anything. Water pump got replaced somewhere else. Nelson's automotive is incredibly over priced. When I was doing the math on how much everything would cost there was a extra 400 dollars not accounted in my quote. When I picked it up I was told it was for misc parts. Lol, sure. If you are not there for your personal vehicle like a government vehicle great. But if its your own money go somewhere else. Prices are extremely over priced.

Arrived at opening and was immediately scheduled for the first available smog test slot. After aboit 15 minutes or 20 minutes, the car passed, I was paid out, and on the road again. Excellent and fast professional and polite service. I'll surely go here again for a smog check.

Nelson's Automotive has been my trusted mechanic for more than a decade. Personal service, Trustworthy Expertise, and Timely Results. My vehicles are always in tip-top shape and the staff quickly responds to any concern or demand. I have asked sometimes for impossible jobs (like a tow rack on a mini-van) and they still found the right equipment and installed it quickly and professionally.

I can't say enough about this place. I've been working on cars for about 15 years off and on. I've done everything from basic electrical troubleshooting to full engine changes. As my family grows, I just don't have the time nor energy to do my own maintenance. I'm pretty aware of what is going on with my vehicles before I ever take them anywhere. I've not yet had them try and tell me something different when I bring my vehicles in for work. I haven't had them try to upsell me on any unneeded maintenance either. I recently took in a truck for smog, when it failed, they told me what I needed to do to fix it and even game me a discount when I brought it back for a recheck. Professional, knowledgeable, and honest.

Made an appointment for smog check and was in and out in 30 min. I wont get any better then that. the staff is professional, courteous, attentive, and fast. Great job!

Took my Town and Country minivan in for a smog check after the closure of Ridgecrest Automotive where I've been taking my vehicles for smog since 2003. The metal valve stem snapped off my TPMS sensor during the required check of the tire pressure. They couldn't find the part so offered to either temporarily install a rubber valve stem or replace the entire TPMS sensor without charging for labor, just the cost of TPMS sensor. They not only didn't charge me for labor for that fix, but also discounted my entire bill without me asking. After the difficult week everyone in town has had with the recent earthquakes it was great to be treated so well by a local business. I have some AC repair on another vehicle that needs done and I can tell you exactly who is getting my business from now on.

Grate place and costumer service very honest mechanic towed my car there for some repairs they gave me a good price and when they where finished with my car the price we talked over the phone stayed the same no add ons $ or anny of that. Car was finished the next day thank you...
