Norcal smog is the best shop in the bay area hands down. I pulled in at 4 pm on New Years Eve (a time when most employees want to go home) and Ernie took my 91 Toyota Pickup in right away. He worked quickly but didnt rush the job, and gave me some insight on some parts that may need replacing before my next smog in 2 years. Overall excellent shop with good pricing. 10/10 recommend. Great business with an honest owner.Services: Smog certification, Registration renewal

Ernie was very helpful. My car was having trouble passing smog but he took the time to tell me what I had to do & to come back & it would pass & it did! He made something that seemed stressful & confusing simple & easy. Also works fast but good quality work. This place was so great! They were able to get me in right away Christmas week for an Oil change and Smog. It only took the 35 minutes they quoted me. The price was very low. Chris was wonderful. I will definitely be back.

Ernie, the proprietor of North Cal Smog, is a personable, knowledgeable, and friendly individual. He executes the task quickly, and there is little to no wait time. Furthermore, the price is extremely reasonable. If you need a smog check in the Richmond area, or even if you're from somewhere else, go see Ernie.

Did some online research and found this operation to have the best value. When I called (new to the State) Ernie was very helpful & explained everything. I told him I would be over in a few hours and I was. He was friendly and efficient. Also, the strong value I had found online turned out be be exactly what I paid. Sometimes buisness leave stuff out or look to add on to your ticket. Nothing of the sort here. I nice little buisness where price and quality came together. Wish all local businesses were like this one. And....... Yes, my car passed;)Service: Smog certification

North Cal smog has been my go to place since I ve moved to Richmond two years ago. The owner Ernie is really good at what he does. I ve taken multiple cars to him and most of the time they pass with flying colors. If there s an issue he takes the time to diagnose and if possible, correct the problem. He could easily fail my car and get more money out of me but he s honest in what he does. I highly regard North Cal to be your next go to for a smog.Services: Hybrid vehicles service, Smog certification, Emissions testing

Very pleased with Ernie. He was very helpful and fast. I called about 5 other shops and NORTH CAL SMOG was the best price around town. Don't waste your time somewhere else they overprice smogs.

Ernie is a stand up guy worth taking a trip down to Richmond . He is always having random deals and its always worth it everytime. Check for facebook coupons or ask him personally for the deal of the day.

Smog done right.Completely legit. Licensed. Excellent customer service..I would not go anywhere else for a smog now that I met this guy. He also does oil changes now I think.
