I had a bad experience with another mechanic (Garaffo's) who let my mother's car sit around for NINE DAYS without doing anything to it. I took it Carl and he fixed it in ONE DAY! Not only that, he gave us a great rate. I bring all my cars to Carl now, he's a great mechanic and his prices are affordable.

Carl is the best! He has taken care of my 2007 GMC Envoy Denali since 2007! He keeps my car running at 288K miles! I live in Sparks, Nevada and will drive to Carl as he can be trusted implicitly! Thank you Carl!

I can't say enough about the fantastic experience I had with Carl at B & D Automotive Center. I was visiting the Bay Area from my home in Nevada and prior to driving over the Sierra's I noticed a problem with my 2002 GMC Yukon. I searched auto repair on the BBB website, and there were many great reviews for B&D so I contacted them and explained the problem. I was told to "come on down" and Carl had the mechanic stop what he was working on to repair my car. I was on my way in less than an hour. Awesome service! Thank you so much, Carl.

I have been going here for about 20 years. Service is always consistent and at a fair price. Highly recommend. PS- you can go eat at Harry's Hofbrau while you wait.

Sadly, after several visits to B & D that went fine, I have to register opportunistic if not genuinely fraudulent behavior that other potential customers should be aware of. On 12/13/22 I referred the college kid of a good friend to Carl, because the check engine light on his 2020 Outback was on. Carl told him the coolant valve was out of place, a recall item the dealership would take care of under warranty. So far, so good. But then Carl exploited this kid's inexperience, telling him his cabin air filter needed replacement and he needed a tire rotation... and then told him it would be $300! The boy said yes because he didn't know any better. Carl exploited his ignorance. Pulling up the code to diagnose the valve took all of 5 minutes. Replacing a cabin air filter ($23 on Amazon for the part) takes another 5, maybe 7 minutes (see YouTube -- you don't even have to lift the hood, it's right behind the glove box). And rotating four tires takes 15 minutes max (I've done it). So, round it up to half an hour, all-in, at the Bay Area market rate of $160 / hour, Carl was bidding this boy an effective rate of $320 an hour. On a 40 hour work-week (which is 1,900 hour work-year), that's $608,000 a year. How many of us make that? This was a real breach of trust, with a kid in school who can't afford to waste money, and a real disappointment. I won't be back, won't refer anyone else, and would advise anyone reading this to look elsewhere. I sincerely hope this review motivates Carl and B & D to play fair with people, and earn their money the way the rest of us do -- by working for it.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I scheduled an appointment with Carl at the recommendation ofAmerica Tires and showed up on the wrong day. He was incredibly kind and was able to fit me into his already busy day! They went above and beyond to care for my car and truly put customer care first. I have had my fair share of experiences with auto shops up and down the Peninsula and B & D ranks among the highest!Service: Wheel alignment

Carl is an honest, and honorable man! One of the last honest automotive centers out there. Carl and his mechanic are very thorough and fast. I would recommend Carl and his staff to anyone out there that needs their vehicle fixed. His prices are 100% reasonable. So if your looking stop just call Carl at B&D you won't regret it!

I stopped in today without an appointment. Carl, whom I have known for more than 10 years, helped me right away. Carl is known in the area to be a very honest, decent businessman. BTW - I am female. I trust Carl to be fair. He watches out for me and will not recommend services that my vehicle doesn't need. Carl is polite, friendly and patient. Ladies, believe me. B&D Auto is a shop you can trust.

Took my 2020 Sprinter van in for a $400 oil change, hoping to get taken care of. Turned out to be a horrible customer service experience, the service light came on that it was over filled with oil. When I took it back in to have it fixed, the owner didn t want to be bothered. He just yelled at me from across the shop I can t deal with this right now! Call me in 45 minutes .Never again!

I took my Jeep Wrangler to Carl and his team. They were thorough in repairs and service. Carl truly desires for the customer to be happy with the work done to their vehicle. I will bring all my vehicles to B & D Auto from now on. Keep up the good work!

Keeps my 2006 toyota Sienna with 352,000 miles in great shape... as an Uber driver I average 250 miles/ day ...when I'm in need of a reliable value priced repair I count on B & D AUTO...

Been taking my cars to Carl for over 20 years. Years ago when I drove a tow truck I saw how honest he was with out of town customers who would never become regular customers and I've been using him ever since

Went to two different VW dealers and my Routan could not be fixed they just ignored me I said that there repair didnt solve the issue and then the second dealer found nothing wrong ??? Neighborhood mechanic tried to fix it.B&D took a look at the van and was able to repair correctly same day. I wish would have known about this place a few years ago I had given up on fixing it and just dealt with it because I thought it was going to be extremely difficult and costly to repiar. Thank You B&D
