I had issues with my car and had it towed into the shop. Everyone was so nice and kind. Mike explained step by step the repairs that were needed. Larry the owner made me feel even better when he said my car was in immaculate condition and the repairs would be worth it. This really helped me make up my mind. I am so happy with the fast turnaround and the fair and honest pricing.

Larry and his team did everything they could to make our experience of a failed transmission as painless as such a major issue can be. We appreciated the updates, honesty, and concern that Larry showed throughout the process. So if you're looking for high quality work, great customer service, and an owner who truly cares about each customer, take your vehicle to Larry.

The shop is clean and well organized. Go early as business is brisk. Michael was a great help. Scott performed his usual excellent work. He has been my mechanic since God was a boy and brought my service to AAMCO when he changed work locations. My only request is that you might consider putting a portable heater and side curtains around your customer waiting area and mebbe offer coffee and hot chocolate to waiting customers. Burrr!

I had an issue with my truck.... check engine light was on, and they looked it over for me. It was a 10 amp fuse. That sense of "we got you " it gave me a good feeling.Great service

I was super excited that I purchased a 2005 Tundra for my trailer rental business and one month in their LE a leak near the transmission. Here we got I was thinking at least $2,000. AAMCO had it for 5 days. They called me and said it s a seal and a few other things the total was going to be $750. I was excited but I wanted to see it fit myself. The mechanic was way cool. He even told me if he was ever going to get a work truck he would ask to buy my truck. I drive it home and I am happy. O yea they also give great deals on tires. I got those also. Now I just need a paint job.Services: Transmission, Tires

After being unable to receive service at another shop for my 1998 motorhome, I took it to the Redlands Aamco shop. They had the both the facilities and the expertise to diagnose the two transmission issues and make the repair. They even found some small worn vacuum lines and replaced them for nothing. The timeframe and cost were fair and I am very happy with their service. I recommend this very clean shop to anyone needing an engine or transmission diagnostic and repair.

Brought my SUV here for some repairs I needed. Michael was very helpful and showed me exact work that needed to be done. Was upfront about price and time for work completion. They were quick on the repairs and price was reasonable. Would bring my cars here again.

I had a check engine error code saying my fuel level sensor voltage was low...so I replaced the fuel pump and fuel level sensor but still had the code problem. After checking all the connections I could find I decided to take it to Ammco for their diagnostics. Scott did a excellent job of tracing the voltage from the battery to the fuel pump and then to the fuel gage all were normal but after the fuel gage the voltage goes to the computer...that's where the problem was...a bad connection to the computer...Scott was a awesome trouble shooter I appreciate Scott the technician that worked on my car and Michael the service manager...I would recommend their shop to my family and friends, and I m going to be a return customer if I can t figure out something myself...

Phenomenal customer service. A company that helped me figure out what was wrong with my car, fix it, as well as fix additional problems they found, and they were able to do it for a significantly cheaper price than two other companies that had already done work on the car on top of also adding a warranty. They also went out of their way to ensure I was able to get my car back by allowing me to pick it up after hours.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Oil change

I took my car in to AAMCO in Redlands for an estimate of repairs my dealership told me I needed to have repaired. I was greeted by Michael, a phenomenal young man who was polite, listened to my description of the issues with my vehicle and arranged an estimate. Once reviewed my husband spoke with the owner, Larry. He was honest, informative, and worked with us answering all questions not only patiently, but kindly with detailed description. He offered solutions that made sense. He included a number of additional items at his cost because the repairs needed were so extensive. Ultimately, they saved us nearly $7000. compared to the dealer, had our vehicle to us in record time, and performed additional items above what the dealership offered with a better warranty. They are highly communicative and respectful. We are clients for life. HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDServices: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, Auto engine diagnostic, Brakes, Oil change

*Please read fully. I bought a 2014 Honda Accord Sport 2.4L Manual Transmission from Carvana and 6 months later started having transmission problems. I started Google searching the problems and researching the solutions. During my independent research, I came to the conclusion that my best option for my car was to purchase a remanufactured transmission, followed by having my transmission rebuilt. I called around about eight transmission shops in my area looking for an honest reputable shop to replace my transmission or to rebuild the one I had. I called Aamco Transmissions of Redlands and spoke with Angel who assured me that he could source parts and have my transmission rebuilt in about one week. I made an appointment to drop my car off and saved what I thought was the the appropriate amount of money. After I dropped my car off I am I immediately noticed that Angel started missing scheduled progress reports and excusing broken promises with more lies. As he had my car in his possession and he is the manager of the store I did not want this business to start destroying my car so I patiently waited and did not call or harass the business or threaten them. I just wanted to get my car back in functional condition. It took this business one week to do the initial diagnostic on my car and finally give me an estimate for repairs. The estimate for a rebuilt transmission from the manager's mouth was approximately $8500. As I had already paid $1300 for the diagnostic I agreed to pay for the full repairs and I started scrambling for the reminder due. One more week went by and during one of our conversations Angel let it slip that he was waiting for a unit to come in. We had agreed upon him rebuilding my transmission, so when I asked him what he meant he said some nonsense about having a mechanic out of the country and just more lies. I did not say anything and just asked him for the next progress report. Two days later my car was ready for pick up. I went and and made the final payment and looked at the receipt. Angel had charged me for a remanufactured transmission and had installed it onto my vehicle. That explains the very high price that I had to pay for it. I looked at him and smiled and pretended I did not understand. I paid for the service and left without saying a word. I feel like I am a victim of predatory salesmanship... I feel like it may have been a result of the color of my skin or that this particular person just believed that I had no idea what he was doing, but he chose to lie directly into my face incessantly and to sell me the most expensive thing that he could for my car. He believes that he got away with it all the way up until he reads this review. I want the world to know that I would have gladly purchased a remanufactured transmission as that was ideal as far as I was concerned and I could not find one from any other shop. Angel never had to lie to me in order to get me to buy one, it's the best case scenario as far as I am concerned. I am very happy that I found a remanufactured transmission in this economy and that I have a reliable car to drive for years to come. That being said, I will never do business with this location again, and I really don't trust any car repair business at all. I feel like these people are unethical and they lie and cheat and steal like common thieves and even when you are polite and moral and patient and kind and virtuous and civilized these people view you as being ignorant and easy pickings and they deliberately prey on you if they sense the opportunity to do so covertly. That man had no reason to lie to me and to "Trick" me out of my money, because I would have gladly paid for the "most expensive sale" knowingly if he had just been honest, and this would be a 5 star review. I think that these people are scumbags and scammers. I would never want my mother going to them for help! Thanks, Capitalism. *Clutch failed after 6 months. Angel lied about that Too!

First of all any transmission work is pricey so you cant base your experience off cost because knowone is happy spending thousands of dollars. These guys may be a little more than average it was worth it tho. They had a very clean shop which is important with this type of work. Everyone I spoke with seemed very knowledgeable which made me comfortable in spending so much money. My car runs like new so far. They gave me a good warranty and were up front about everything. And always answered my questions. I'm sure they have lots of unhappy customers because everyone is focused on the dollar signs. Set that aside and all that's left is great staff and great work. I'm very happy even tho my wallet is sad.Service: Transmission

This was my first visit to an AAMCO and I ve been to many repair shops in my 80 years having had a car since I was 15. My experience at Redlands was outstanding to say the least, from my phone call to make the appointment to the moment I left. They started the service when scheduled and completed when promised. All the employees I came in contact with were very pleasant and professional, even the mechanic that did the service. The only reason I gave a 5 Star rating is that I couldn t give them a 10! I will definitely have all my future car service done there.Service: Transmission

I have nothing but respect and appreciation for Larry and his team. I had them rebuild my transmission on an 08 Odyssey van and it runs smoother and better than when I first purchased it 10 yrs ago. When I dropped the van off he took me through the shop and showed me step by step what the transmission rebuild process is and I must say, his shop is the cleanest mechanic shop I've been in, in fact its cleaner than some restaurants I've been to. I've been driving the van now for 3 weeks since the rebuild and there's no leaks and it runs so smooth and perfect, so much we've decided to keep it for a few more years. Larry is not just a great shop owner he is also a person of integrity and is a wonderful human being, you would be foolish to go elsewhere.Service: Transmission

We took our Buick to get an estimate for the timing belt that needed replacing. Not only were they the most reasonably priced, they got the vehicle back to us quickly. Larry and his team are honest, professional, and the nicest auto mechanics I have ever dealt with. I will definitely be taking all my vehicles here for all future repairs and service.Anyone reading this, know that Larry will take care of you! He is a huge supporter of first responders and Redlands! Shop local. Support local businesses.Services: Transmission, Oil change

I just went to this AAMCO in Redlands for the first time. I had been having transmission issues, like shifting hard and missing gears. I met Larry who told me he owned the shop and couldn t have been more helpful. I ended up needed a transmission rebuild but it was surprisingly less expensive than I expected, and they even replaced an exhaust manifold bolt for free. Great work, fast turn around and affordable price. I will definitely go back for other repairs as the come up.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

Larry and crew were most professional from the time i walked in until i walked out. My mechanic inadvertently unplugged my transmission when he changed out my starter. It immediately started shifting badly and the check transmission light came on. I asked him to check if he might have caused the problem. After he checked it and changed the oil he said there was something wrong with the transmission. Because the transmission was rebuilt by AAMCO (another franchise out of the area) i took it to the Redlands AAMCO. They said they would honor the warranty and took it in last Friday. As there was literally no space to park because of so many customers vehicles left there i felt sure it would be weeks before i would see my warranty vehicle. To my great surprise, Larry called me today (4 days later) and said it was ready to pick up. He reported that all they had to do was plug the transmission back into the wiring harness. To make sure all was well they even did a road test to verify what seemed to be the solution. Best of all, they didn t even charge me for something that the warranty clearly didn t cover. Thank you Larry and crew! You have a new customer.Service: Transmission

I wanted to say that the staff here is amazing, professional and educated on what they do. I called ahead of time to be sure they could get me in and from that first contact I knew I was in good hands. The gentleman who spoke to me was very kind and explained everything and was able to get me in right away. They were quick with the repair and was willing to work with me on the financial end of it which I was so thankful for and felt that they really cared about their customers and the services they provide. I would recommend them 100%.Service: Transmission

Very disappointed. First took my truck in 09/19, they fixed it but took over 2 weeks and I had to take it back in because it would not go into park. They fixed that und I thought we were good. Come a few years later and Similar problems begin to pop up. I took it back And since then, I ve been having the same reoccurring problems that I have already paid for. Now I know what you re going to saying just take it back, But it s hard to do when you only have one vehicle and I need to go to work. All I want is my truck to work correctly. Last time I took it in, they told me it s supposed to shift the way it does, which is very hard, and when They scanned my system to see what was going on. They said there s no issues.

This is one of the best car shops I've been to. The shop is exceptionally clean, which gives a good vibe to the store. The general manager, Angel, is honest and genuinely wants to help.My 20 year old car was having issues and several mechanics told me that it was likely the transmission. I don't know much about cars, and Angel could have easily told me the same and charged me for it. Instead, we had an honest conversation about the good and the bad of the car troubles. Ended up not being the transmission and they fixed what was needed. He also threw in a free oil change, which was a nice surprise. The car feels different to drive. It almost feels like it was upgraded. He gave me a range for the estimated time for repair and the cost. In the end, it was ready within his estimated time, and cost less than what I expected. It seems like many car shops get bad reviews because there's no trust and misaligned expectations. I can say after my experience that I trust Angel and will be returning to him if I have future car problems.Services: Transmission, General repairs & maintenance, Engine repair, Oil change

Still looking for an honest automotive shop. Over all, I wouldn't recommend this store. Angel was the writer I talked to (who was nice, buddy buddy like). I explained what my car was doing and he gave me his thoughts. I told him what I thought it was based upon previous service by another dealer and myself. After leaving it at the shop, he called me a day or two later and gave me a whopping $1,900 estimate. He guaranteed me this should fix my issue. As upset with the ticket amount, I didn't listen as closely as I should have to everything they where doing to the car...just sold/blinded on the fact they found my issue and was going to fix it. Turns out, I got a water pump and hose that was leaking, trans service that I didn't need, an oil change I didn't request and they changed my engine and trans mounts that I DID need. They said my water pump was leaking and when I mentioned that was my oil leak, they said it was the water pump. Funny...I've never needed to fill my coolant. Angel was nice, but he's responsible for his mechanics honesty. Tho my shifting issues seemed less noticeable with new mounts, my problem reappeared by the time I got straight home from their shop. I called Angel and informed him immediately. He said he'd make it right. After waiting, I called corporate to see if I could get a second opinion at a different store, instead they sent me to the owner of this shop, Larry. He was nice, wanted to make it better and briefly tried to fix one of many oil leaks they said I didn't have, which didn't make a difference of course. They said they would call me in a couple months to straighten out the rest of the work, but never heard back. Their shop is IMMACULATE (and impressed me), but they are not careful with your car. They splashed coolant on both sides of my fenders and a small nick of paint off one of them (see lower left in pic). I don't wish to return, I'll be taking all FIVE of my cars somewhere else. I would recommend you going elsewhere and get another opinion.Services: Transmission, Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Oil change
