Steve was great and got my car in and out, communicated anything with me that he was doing with my car and was a lot less than what the actual dealership wanted to charge me for repairs. Amazing people and my car is running great! Thanks so much Steve.

I can say i took my car in on a friday. And steve and crew were happy to take my business and even had a smile. Every other place was trying to charge me like 1700 $. Well i wont say what steve charged me but it was alot less than that. These guy know what they are doing and im happy i went with thier shop

They were able to take my car on same day I called, were super nice and understanding. Josh has been helping me and has truly gone above and beyond to keep my repairs affordable. I highly recommend this business.

Wouldn t recommend. They had my car for a week and a half for what they discovered was an exhaust issue, day 1. They never called to update me about anything, I had to call to find out anything like what the problem was and that it was done and ready. When it was ready to pick up, I took I home, the problem was better but not fixed. A couple months later I figured out they just installed a lightweight metal adjustable strap to the loose bracket on my exhaust that was causing the noise, which rusted away and fell of within the two months. All that to say it didn t seem like they cared to have my business the entire time and turns out they didn t do solid work. The company seems more focused on a fabrication shop they are running instead. Now I have my entire exhaust out fixing the problem myself. Wouldn t recommend.

All in all I'm happy with the service I received. My vehicle was dropped off on a Wednesday evening and picked up the following Wednesday afternoon. They not only fixed what was wrong with the breaks but also the computer errors that had been plaguing her for months. I was hesitant to take her into the shop as most have attempted to overcharge and tell me she needs work done that she doesn't, but I'm glad I did. My car is running like it did when I first got her 10 years ago under budget! Very glad I found them!

Steve and his crew have been amazing! They rebuilt my transmission in a professional and timely fashion. They answered all my questions and never hesitate to talk with me if I am curious about anything going on with my car. My car sat in an alternate shop where it didn't get touched for a month. Once I took it to Pro Trans it was diagnosed within the first three days and fixed shortly after. I am one satisfied girl!

Had my transmission replaced less than a week later its leaking in my driveway bring it into shop and the guy tries to tell me its going to be another 850 to 1200 dollars says theres a hole in it and i could jb weld it or pay 1200 more dollars after paying almost 3000 dollars! Would not recommend to anyone!Service: TransmissionService: Transmission

FINALLY! Steve and his crew at Pro Trans were able to diagnose and repair the problems I was having with my car. Not only did I have a transmission problem that needed to be fixed but I also had 2 broken motor mounts that needed to be replaced. Steve was happy to help take care of all of it so I wouldn t have to take my car around town trying to get the other problem fixed at another shop. I appreciate their friendly and accommodating attitude; it s such a nice change!

Steve and his guys at Pro Trans did an awesome job on my Dodge pickup. Steve was extremely professional and did what was best for me as a customer. The end result was incredible and I could not be happier with the process. I would recommend Pro Trans to anybody as they did an incredible job on my truck as well as my dads truck. Steve also came and picked up my truck and towed it from Chico to Redding. Five stars for Steve and the guys and my truck drives like a dream now

I took my 06 Altima to Steve; after I took it to several different mechanics (even Crown Nissan) and am more than happy with the service, repairs and most important the price. He has fixed my transmission without having to get a new/used one put in my car. He fixed my car in a reasonable time (a few days) and I waited to take my car out of state since I travel a lot, to write my review. My car runs awesome. Thank you Steve and your team. I will recommend you to everyone.

Excellent service! My vehicle's transmission was repaired on time, and I received a phone call alerting me as soon as it was finished. Steve is a very kind man and provided excellent customer service by accommodating my every need, and by letting me finance the transmission. I will absolutely recommend Pro Trans to anyone in need of transmission services.

Went to Protrans after transmission went out on family vacation up to Shasta I was recommended by AAA service center which do not use their recommendation for Protrans in Redding Ca. After having giving a bull line by Steve the owner of Protrans that the transmission that was being installed was a better updated transmission and was told that the warranty was a premium warranty from his source for transmissions. Which is Transtar industries 36 month 100,000 mile. I approved the work after in trusting in Steve as a profession in his trade. After being called that truck was ready for pick-up I had paid the $4,500.00 bill I took truck for a test spin and truck engine light came on I brought back and was told by Steve at Protrans it was a sensor so waiting the day for problem and being told it was resolved. (I believe that the transmission was still the issue due to my current situation today). After a month with no issues I was driving and check engine light came on and said pull over due to engine problem after calling a tow truck to take to my mechanic not knowing situation. A diagnostic report came back from new mechanic that the transmission has failed in diagnostic report due to TSB inside transmission needed to be re flashed which updates the new transmission with the computer system with the truck and if not re flashed will cause damage and from conversation between my mechanic and Steve it was not done which we have in writing from my mechanic Which according to my conversation is Steve at Protrans Steve did not have the right equipment to do. So after 2 weeks of trying to get transmission sent to have fixed due to Steve and Transtar not agreeing on warrantied transmission it was finally sent to my mechanic in Santa Rosa and when new transmission was sent transmission pan was warped and needed to be replaced so now I have another bad transmission from a shady mechanic Steve at Protrans and his source for parts Transtar out of Sacramento Ca. So after conversation with Steve owner at Protrans he was going to reinbursed for the extra cost which is now up to $2,400.00 over and above cost of $4,500 I had initially paid and still feel uncomfortable with the new transmission provided due to service and experience I had with Steve owner at Protrans in Redding Ca I have written a certified letter with no reply and after reading other complaints on Google and how he is not professional with how he acts in a problem as he does not warrant his work fully and professionally acts. I am now going to send complaints to the Department of California Bar Bureau of auto repair as well as all social media Google /yelp and all the sources I am also going to file a civil lawsuit for the new repairs and time truck was down due to it is my work vehicle and was needed for work as well as having to pursue recouping funds. Do not trust Protrans or Steve read the reviews first make a sound decision on mechanic you decide to choose to fix your vehicle which I should had done my diligence and reading Steve at Protrans reviews. Steve you should honor your work and your word!!!! (You are terrible as a professional). I am glad I got the truth from another mechanic.Service: Transmission

Steve the owner and his first mate Josh are very knowledgeable amazingly friendly they do great work I got more work planned in the future cuz I have several Vehicles they have a solar shop RV solar shop in the same building and they put my 40 amp DC to DC charger in ah my van and it's so nice to have extra battery when it's cloudy is all I have to do is start the van and the van charges the solar system battery now

ProTrans was a massive help in getting my Volkswagen up and running again. It took 3 transmissions to get the parts needed for the rebuild, but the resulting box is super smooth and hasn't given me any trouble in the months since.Would I go back? 100% yes. Steve is super helpful, if a bit direct with his choice of words. The quality of the work is phenomenal, and they even have a guy that knows VW boxes. I'll definitely be back when I need work done.

OH MY Talk about "" Customer Service and skilled craftsmanship "" This shop R O C K S, While traveling to California our transmission gave us problems. We brought it to Pro Trans for repairs. We had our own auto mechanic call Steve to discuss the issue - and our own mechanic that we have trusted for years was highly impressed with Steve at Pro Trans. We were highly impressed too! The owner is all about people and his knowledge and friendly demeanor took away the stress that goes along with your transmission troubles. Please use this shop with confidence and know that the owner Steve will make sure everything goes smoothly !!!!!! We can't thank him enough - we picked up our suburban on our way back from vacation and drove another 6 hours along I5 with the comfort of knowing it was done right! Bry and family from Oregon.

My transmission gave out on me all of a sudden and after searching for transmission shops in the area I decided pro trans was my best option.They called me later the same day and confirmed that it was a transmission issue and I gave them the go ahead to work on it. two days later it was done and driving.Steve is a great guy and he was very helpful. He even helped me get it towed into the shop.

If your in a emergency situation or just need work done to your vehicle, this is the place to go. Even though it says pro trans, this shop is certified to do ANYTHING. Steve or any other one of his guys will be completely 100% straight up with you. They go above and beyond to make sure the customer leaves satisfied. I definitely recommend this shop to anybody looking for honest work and an honest experience.

Look no further for quality repair work. When my 25 year old truck had multiple system failures in the middle of our trip home, I thought I was in serious trouble. Luckily we found Steve and his Pro Trans & Auto repair shop. Hearing that we are from out of town they got us in super fast, did a deep diagnosis on my truck finding multiple issues with the drive train and a few comfort problems that other shops just ignore. Upon my request they fixed it ALL getting me out of there and mechanically ready for my next trip faster than any shop I have used in my home town. The crew there is busy, but friendly giving me some great tips on my vehicle when asked. Now my truck tows like a dream, I'm a very HAPPY customer!

I was told I would have my vehicle back in 3 days at the latest I waited patiently until the 4th day and then called. I was told 2 of their mechanics were out this was a Friday. Low and behold Monday, we discover my car hasn't even been started on! The owner has the nerve to say if we can't be patient, go ahead and take it. Awesome I'll take it somewhere that they value their customers

I payed 1400$ for this place to fix my transmission clutch. They had my car for 5 days and handed it back to me with it running the same exact way it was when I dropped it off. Told me my car was all fixed and they didn t fix anything on it and tried charging me to do more work on it. I 100% recommend not going hereService: TransmissionService: Transmission

Great work and friendly service. Had a clutch replacement done on my fusion, what I was quoted and paid previous to my car being ready was more then the actual cost, I was handed a check for the difference which doesnt happen too often so good job there guys. Only real complaint I have is lack of communication between us which is partly on my shoulders. Will deffinetly be back for any other transmission related issues and would reccomend this pro trans to anybody who wants quality work done.Keep the great work up guys!!!!!

I went to Steve. He listened to me explain my problem. He and one of his employees looked under my hood saw the problem asked me to drop my car off the next day in morning. Had it done at the end of that day. Gave me some good advice. I was very happy with and him and his staff. I will always go to Steve at Pro Trans. Thank you Steve and staff.

They are awesome. Helpful, kid friendly place. They not only got work done quickly but at a great price. They have a lovely waiting room. They even changed the TV to a kids channel while we were waiting, and I hadn't asked. Magnolia magazine and others to read, while you watch the trains go by.I will definitely go here again and recommend them to anyone who needs transmission maintenance or work.

The owner will seem trustworthy and professional, but don't be deceived. He is capable of being unresponsible, unaccountable and out right disrespectful. My family and I had a horrible experience of which I'm not going to disclose here. But believe me when we say that we've never make reviews online, as a matter of fact this is the first time ever. Stay away from this auto shop or you will regret it. Not only do they not respect their clients they are also not great at their work. When our vehicle was returned to us, they had damaged other things on there. We now have to find another shop to fix their mistake. We will be reporting this shop to the Bureau of Automotive and seek legal counsel. Shops like these should not be in business.

Great work at a great price! My transmission died in the middle of no where... I don't know a soul in Redding. I called different shops and chose ProTrans because Steve was so great at answering all my questions. I'm so glad I made that decision. Great service. Great pricing. Super knowledgeable and friendly. I'm from the Bay Area and I would have had to pay way more for a whole new transmission if I did the work there. And the tow truck driver confirmed that they take a lot of business to ProTrans and hear good things about them all the time. I'd highly recommend this shop.

Last year, we blew the transmission in our 2000 Dodge pickup, in Willows, California. We were travelling in our truck along with our 25' travel trailer. We spoke to Steve at Pro Trans and had our truck and trailer towed to Protrans in Redding, Calif. When we spoke to Steve regarding our situation, he was able to promptly assist us. We trusted his knowledge and expertise. Luckily for us, he had a rebuilt transmission on the shelf and was able to swap ours out and had us back on the road with only one day delay. He suggested putting in a stronger torque converter because we tow a trailer. We did the upgrade and are very please with the difference it has made. Additional to his fixing our transmission problem, he took extra care of us by calling ahead and reserving us a spot in a local RV campsite. He kindly towed our trailer there for us. Our truck has run GREAT ever since the work that was done at ProTrans. We very much appreciated dealing with Steve and having our work done at ProTrans. VERY Happy!Now we are back in Redding, one year later and need our Annual Service done on the transmission to keep the warranty valid. Again, Steve met us at our campsite, picked up our truck and took it for the warranty work. Service with a smile. No worries. All good! Steve and the crew at ProTrans really got me out of a bind. My transmission, already having one rebuild with about 35,000 miles on it, was nearly shot, and after my (now former) mechanic was lagging on getting back to me, I started shopping around for someone to get my truck back in shape. I dropped my truck off to get checked, and was clear: if it needed a full re-build, I may just start car shopping instead.I heard back from Steve that afternoon, and he sounded a bit concerned - initially, he thought his team at ProTrans did the original re-build (they did not) and was appalled at how shoddy the workmanship was. He was naturally relieved to hear the bad rebuild was NOT his work product - which showed me something: had it been, Steve is the kind of guy who would have done what it took to make things right, and unsurprisingly, he is confident in the work he does that he rarely, if ever, has to re-do something.After talking a bit longer, hearing his knowledge and thorough techniques, I was convinced Steve and his shop was the place for me (plus, car shopping is a bust). No nonsense shop, couldn't be happier with how smoothly and better performing my vehicle is.

Awful experience, and I've considered reporting to licensing boards about this experience. Initially brought my car in as check engine light came on, and regular mechanic stated it was a transmission issue. Good reviews online, and calling ahead to get a sense of what it would cost, led me to bring it in to Pro Trans. Brought it in in the AM, and waited until late afternoon to call back since I hadn't heard about the car. Steve stated that he's getting "all these calls" from me and my wife. My wife hadn't ever called him. Anyway, said he'd get to the car the next day. Again, hadn't heard anything by late afternoon, so I called and he stated he'd started working on it. This is without me agreeing to work to be done yet, and not signing any agreement to pay for diagnostic, or understanding exactly what work would be done. At this point, just want the car and to be done, so it wasn't until the following day (day 3) that I could get the car.About one month later, gears are slipping until finally it won't get out of 2nd, and the light is back on. Take it back to Pro Trans in the AM, don't hear anything and so I call in the late afternoon. Steve says he'll get to it the following day but has a feeling the tranny is done. He calls me the next day, says the tranny is done and it'll be more than the car's worth to replace, so we agree to a sale of the car over the phone with a plan for me to bring in the title later that day to finalize the deal, and for me to get my belongings out of the car. When I arrive, the car is up on a lift, front tires gone, and the engine on a "pogo" as they've started dismantling the engine. All of this is done before the transaction is finalized, and before the title is in his name. He can't get the car down, so we agree to the next day to finalize the deal. I arrive the next day, and Steve says "I forgot about it" and that it's locked up. This causes me to have to arrange between my work, wife's work, and 2 small kids to come back on a third day to get into my dismantled car. I considered cancelling the transaction, and bringing charges against Pro Trans for illegally stripping down what is still legally my car. I decided otherwise, and came back the next day with a family member to help with my belongings.The car, legally still mine, is even further stripped at this point. After gathering my belongings, Steve and I complete the title transfer at which point my family member asks "why is the car stripped down?" causing Steve to become very escalated, posturing towards my family member and with raised voice stating he hasn't done anything wrong, getting in the face of my family member, who is quietly standing there, and yelling that he doesn't like "being cross examined...I'm an honest person...I haven't done anything wrong...What, you want me to put it back together?" all in a yelling voice with an aggressive posture. My family member has to step around Steve while he's still making these comments and we quickly get out of the office. I thought Steve was going to hit my family member, and if we hadn't hurried out of there, he may have. A business like this does not deserve your business, unethical, unstable, and bordering on unlawful.

This the first review that I have written in (15) years of managing a transmission shop. When ever a customer breaks down out of town and repairs are made you always feel uncomfortable. I have had it happen both ways and it always seems to have a problem show up one way or another. With Steve there were no problems of any kind and the service was great. By him going beyond the limit to help this customer quickly and getting there problems solved was remarkable.
