Thoroughbred Motors is awesome! I was purchasing a vehicle located near their shop and they got me scheduled for a pre-purchase inspection.They gave me a very detailed inspection quote. I felt like I was well taken care of and they were very transparent with everything.I highly recommend this shop!

Check engine light was on, exhaust hangers broken, air filter fell off, and my 4Lo was flashing. Great desert trip to Ocotillo though! What an awesome shop! Trustworthy, honest and very friendly. Their email receipts are great, has pictures and results of tests so you can see the work. I won't take my vehicles anywhere else, the BEST auto shop in Ramona. It didn't even break my wallet, very reasonable and affordable. Thank you, to Jesse and his team, for a great experience and my truck back good as new.

Jesse, Taryn, Kristina, and the team hooked me up on my VW. I ve always heard great things from everyone in town about Thoroughbreds, especially Jesse. The hype lives up. They got me in for diagnostics basically immediately. They even offered to give me a ride home and pick me up to get me back to the shop. I had to go to the dealership in the end because of an active warranty there, but they helped me on the diagnostic price, totally unprompted, and were just super nice and helpful all around.I also got a goodie bag full of candy and car stuff. I wish I could have had my car worked on there! I will absolutely bring my car there first in the future. These are the guys you want to work with!

Great service and fair prices! I did a diagnostic in my Jeep and I got a detailed feedback of all codes and the necessary work the car would need. They asked authorization to do the work beforehand with the estimated price. I was comfortable with the work, very satisfied with the work and the people are amazing!

Thoroughbred Motors did an amazing job working on my 06 Ranger. It was great seeing their in-depth Inspection report, it looked just as detailed as my last home inspection! It covered everything I already knew about and even some extra things that I didn't think to look for. Thank you!

Awesome . My undercarriage on my car came loose: googled them & they were Fast, Cool , courtesy big time knew what to look for. Fair price great People all around. I know I am 69 & aways on the lookout 4 great car repair men!

I have had so much car trouble lately and the people at Thoroughbred, especially Jesse, have been exceptional giving me advice and helping me get my car back on the road. They re very responsive and efficient. They haven t pushed any unnecessary repairs on me, just recommendations for potential future concerns. Instead of charging me repairs to a poorly manufactured engine, Jesse urged me to go straight to the dealer and corporate due to a recall. After a fight with corporate and a broken down car, I got my engine replaced under the recall. They saved me thousands on a new engine and a new car. Hands down will continue going to Thoroughbred for my vehicle s needs.Services: Auto battery replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Battery

Bumped into Thoroughbred Motors and thought I d give them a shot. Let me tell you, they are nothing but amazing at what they do. Excellent work and excellent communication. I took my 6.0 to them several times and have been completely satisfied. Everything they do is explained with pricing up front so you aren t walking into a bill you aren t aware of. If Jessie wasn t the owner, I d say the man needs a raise. He also follows up after a couple weeks to check on his work. You cant beat his warranty. It s been a long time since I ve left a review for a mechanic. I normally struggle with some aspect whether it s communication, quality of work, accessibility and ease of use etc. but I was so impressed with the overall experience that I had to share. I (had) been struggling with the air conditioning in my vehicle over the summer, and when I called thoroughbred motors, they were able to see me the following Monday, which meant they were busy, which I wasn t mad about. That normally means they re doing something right. The drop off of the vehicle was almost as easy as just leaving keys. The inspection and quality of follow up was unparalleled to any mechanic I ve ever worked with. Period I received a text message with the link it took me to a full inspection, page or photos, and various vehicle needs or sorted and documented clearly. And the name of the mechanic overseeing the inspection was there with their photo, so I knew who was doing the work. They then presented various options and timings to get the work done so that it didn t break the Bank. Not pushy or trying milk more work. They solved the problem within about 24 hours and had me on my way. I was so blown away that I referred my father to go there for some mechanical advice, and I will likely be sending more people to this honest shop.Services: A/C installation & repair, Vehicle safety inspection

I had a 2010 Chevrolet Suburban with a possible collapsed lifter and called several shops that just wanted to do a total upper engine rebuild or replace the engine. Jessie was willing to pinpoint the problem and give me options on addressing the situation thus saving me a lot of money on unnecessary repairs. He repaired it quickly, considering he did a total upper engine rebuild, kept me informed of the progress and saved me a lot of money!! Oh and to boot! He even had the car detailed before I picked it up! I would definitely recommend him for engine diagnostic/ repair and will use him again for my other car problems! So I drive an older car, which I love.After spending a month at my usual highly regarded mechanic I was told that they drove it all over the place trying to recreate what I had talked about symptom wise and there was nothing wrong that they could find with the car.(no mileage change) yep I'm one of those.After hearing some great things about this shop I decided to give it a try.I do have another car to drive so I was happy to hand the car over with no expectation of time.WOW!!!! Within a day I had a complete workup and within a week and a half I got my car back.I could not be more thrilled that they found out what was wrong with it fixed it for a reasonable price and now I feel very safe driving.Thank you so very much.Oh... my car is rarely dirty but about 50 years ago my uncle told me don't ever give your car to a mechanic dirty they'll think you don't care about it.I can't even believe they gave me back a clean car the same way I gave it to them. Moved to Ramona about 6 months ago and immediately started looking for a great diesel repair shop. Since then I have utilized the services of Thoroughbred Motors on three separate occasions. Jesse and Alex are amazing. I highly recommend Thoroughbred Motors. My wife and I had a car issue on Friday night. Not only did they diagnose the issue, but Alex drove all the way to Poway to get the part that we needed to fix our car. These guys are the best. Please visit and support their business. Jesse was very courteous and knowledgeable. Was able to fix what we needed very quickly and made sure we got back on the road safely. My wife and I were in a pinch and Jesse was on a very small timeliness to Get our vehicle fixed and he did everything. This is a great place to go for all of your auto repair need. I would recommend Thoroughbred Motors to others.

Jesse went way above and beyond to help me out in a very sticky situation. I started to put regular gas in my diesel van at a station far from our home and halfway to our final destination for the weekend when I realized my mistake I began to call around and Jesse answered at Thoroughbred Motors and helped us out immediately even though all the diesel repair shops had just closed, plus it was just after 5pm on a Friday!! He was very sympathetic to our situation since we were heading out of town with a full van of people and pets and needed to drop off our van to get repaired for the next day. He suggested where we could get dog leashes for our pets since we had to get into another vehicle ( saved by a friend that lived 15 minutes away) while waiting until the next day for the van to be repaired. He also suggested possible ride options as well as a hotel if we need it. I have never had such great customer service in what is such a stressful situation. He waited patiently for AAA and followed up with me the next day. Incredible service. Highly recommend. Old school service and friendliness. Can't say enough!!!

Wow! Jesse is very good at what he does and his professionalism is second to none. Took my diesel in- and he managed to squeeze me in for a turbo replacement. Everything was done and the truck was returned quicker than the estimate (of 2 days). I have since taken all of my other vehicles in for everything from a transmission fluid change to a general check up and I cannot express enough how timely, friendly and efficient this shop is under Jesse. This is the only shop I can see myself using for my vehicles from now on. Just picked up my Jeep Grand Cherokee from Jesse and I am thrilled with the work that he did. I generally do most of my own repair work, but Jeeps are new to me so I wanted someone I could trust to work on my new purchase. Finding a mechanic that is trustworthy is my most important concern. Jesse is the most fair and honest mechanic I know. I've been taking my car to him for a lot of years and have never been disappointed with the work he's done on my SUV. He always finds time to talk to you and listens to your concerns.
