Overall, I like the Ranchito motel very much. I ve stayed there about six times now and have always had a good experience. Here are the pros and cons.Pros:Rooms are a good size and reasonably clean.Good location that s close to a grocery store and a couple of fast food places.Refrigerator and microwave in the room. The motel is in a beautiful park like setting with a patio and barbecues that the guests are free to use. Both the heating and the air conditioning work well.Cons:The rooms are old with outdated styling (1970 s), which I think adds to the charm of the place, but people expecting a modern room would be disappointed. My bed was worn out and I could feel almost every spring. It was OK for a couple of nights, but it would ve been a problem if I had to sleep on it any longer than that. One light fixture had missing bulbs. The Wi-Fi is slow and spotty. Sometimes there s a connection and sometimes there isn t. Although it did work more often than not.The walls are thin, you will hear people in the rooms next to you even if they re just talking at a normal level.

Diamond in the rough! Owner is absolutely fantastic. This stay is the perfect location for a mountain living getaway, walking distance to the Plumas County Fair, stores and smack dab in the middle of God's country, embraced by the wonderful scent and scenery of the surrounding abundance of majestic mountains and beautiful pine trees. The room was warm and cozy, and the individual character of rare furnishings, along with modern amenities, was the perfect combination for a place to lift up your feet and relax. We call this our favorite! The receptionist was also outstanding in her welcoming and her hospitality.

My room was not very clean, the refrigerator and the lamps were not working properly, kept turning off during our 2 day stay and the shower, although good size, had a very dangerous and slippery shower floor! I took a nasty fall in the shower the last morning we were there. Fortunately, was only bruised badly. Could have been much more serious! I still haven t received a call back from the Motel owner after leaving a message with the staff to do so! Very poor experience! Will never stay at this motel ever again !!!

Refreshing!!! Looks like a bygone era but so adorable. Clean, comfortable, spacious, air conditioning that actually works and no one walking overhead (a huge plus to me). Oh I forget to mention the bottle opener on the back of the bathroom door ( something you don't see ever). Plus well maintained grounds and a pleasant staff makes for an all around great experience.

The Ranchito is a rare gem in a nice little mountain town where they go above and beyond to make your stay something special. The 6 or 7 single level buildings are situated around a wooded property with a natural brook, shaded patios, grills, picnic tables, and various spots to relax. Perfect after a long day on the road. The rooms are rustic but clean, secure, and quiet. Mini split air conditioners guarantee a good night's sleep and some rooms have DVD players. I've stayed here many times I we the years and the beds are always comfortable. Lodging is thin on the ground around here and they don't need to go out of their way but they do.

Really nice people own it. Rooms clean and interesting. I stayed in an older, historic room. Loved being in the trees and the water running through the property was so neat! Nice to have WiFi and dish but if you want to unplug, this is a nice place for that. Will stay again. Quincy is a nice town with so great food and things to do in any direction.

I stayed at Ranchito for 2 nights while visiting a friend in Quincy. The staff was so welcoming and friendly. Marsha checked me in and I met the owner Tracy as well as a few other staffembers and everyone was very friendly and nice. They gave me some great restaurant reccomemdations. The hotel itself is an amazing historical brick motel with the original wood doors and detail and charm with very comfortable beds and furniture. The room was very clean and great water pressure in the larger shower! The property features a BBQ area, babbling creek and a well landscaped back yard. I highly recommend making this your place to stay if you are visiting Plumas county!

Very friendly Lady whom left me a key after hours after getting hit by a storm. I arrived later then check in, she was genuinely worried for me. I felt pleased that the room was at a comfortable temperature not to hot not too cool just right. Clean room, and adorable Friendly setting. Such a lovely charming spot. Thank you Tracy.

Quiet with nice Outdoor areas. This is a great place to get away. In the pines, lots of trees, with running creek. Place to BBQ. Upgraded outdoor color scheme, new carpets, paint. Clean. Family owned and operated. Nice people. Family and Pet friendly.

Not the cleanest but, beautiful sensory.. great location in town.. right across from one stop the gas station and a cool Barbra shop. An to the right of that is poka dot you get some decent food one of the only " burger joints in town" tho it's only seasonal. Adding Sav more foods our local grocery store is left there along with DMV.. and dollar general on the Connor.. so if your looking for a okay stop to stay, with a beautiful sensory,a descent staff but excellent location. Here it is

Recently stayed at the Ranchito Motel for a business trip to Quincy. The Motel is charming, the rooms are all nestled in a pine forest and the staff is very pleasant. I was told by locals that they are new owners (few years) and are steadily fixing the premises up.My room was clean, had new carpet, a new bed and all the standard amenities including a fridge and microwave. Everything worked. The room was a mix of older pieces of furniture and new items (new bed, table, chairs, tv and paint). There was a chip in the bathtub and some of the exterior paint still needs some work... but all in all, it's clear the new owners are making an effort and good progress. I would happily stay there again. If you are looking for the Ritz Carlton... this isn't the place. Then again, if you are looking for that sort of thing... Quincy isn't the place to go anyway.BTW... if you are looking for a charming little town to visit for a day or two, check out Quincy. Small town nirvana, with lot's of friendly people.

Enjoyed many stays, while on work detail, in this motel. The place is comfortable and clean, the staff is friendly and always accommodating. It's nice to see all that they've done to fix this place up over the years.

There was a horrific 3D stain on my sheets, it looked like feces, but I can t be sure. I wanted to use my laptop in my bed, but the only sockets next to it were old and only accepted chargers with two metal sticks and I needed one with three. Lastly, I went to get ice in the morning and there was no scoop, so I had to use the actual bucket to scoop out the ice. On the bright side, the WiFi works pretty well and the environment is pretty cute if you are into vintage things.

The Ranchito Motel is a well maintained and attractive motel. It age is comparable to other hotels in the area. There are four or five areas of rooms. Each area has patio and outdoor seating for conversation and eating. The price is comparable to others in the area. This motel is on the east side of town. The west side is where most of the action is. So you'll be going to and from dining, shopping, and activities in most cases. I recommend this motel.

The Ranchito is my "go to" in Quincy... I've stayed there 5 years running (except when they've been booked up)... They're putting a LOT of work into the property, every time I go there they're better and better... they're not quite at the level of the Courtyard or Ada's (yet), but they blow some others (names withheld) way out of the water. It's like a treat when I go, to see what they've done new to the place! They're on the far east side of town, next to the Elks lodge... and worth the drive.

I was just walking by, but Google Maps seems convinced that I've been here. It was nice to walk by though. No eye sore, as you might expect from a cheap, random getaway, or hide-a-way, depending on your current situation. It looks nice. It smelled nice. What do you know? It's probably nice.

Very quaint, traditional (old school), well maintained hotel. The brook running thru the courtyard is very nice. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Limited digital network availability (to be expected).

Adequate accommodations for the night. Furniture was pretty old, looking like it dated from the 1970's. Staff repeated that we should not contact them after 11 pm or before 8 am. Lighting in the rooms was really, really poor.

This place is incredibly cute, and I wish that I could have stayed longer. Great outdoor area for relaxing and socializing, clean rooms with individualized decor, and a very friendly and helpful owner. I will definitely stay here again if I find myself back in Quincy.

Spiders, bugs, no screens on widows, 70-80's furniture, and a horrible bathroom. Had to stay in town for business and this looked like the best available. Tried other places and they where full, not to excited to ever come back to this town.

Thanksgiving NightmareMy husband and daughter traveled across 2 states to be reunited only to get to this strange place. Only 1 light worked initially they called it humorous until they pulled beck the covers and a giant spark came out of the outlet knocking out all the power. No lights, no fridge, no microwave to warm up dinner, and no TV. Thankfully there was heat in 22 degree weather. Spoke to the owner who never offered to reverse payment, instead made numerous excuses for her unsafe establishment based on the misfortune of her own life. I've been in the hospitality industry for years and this is not how you conduct a successful business.
