Five Star really lives up to its namesake. Fantastic customer service. I got my A/C repaired and although my problem wasn't solved the first time, he discounted the price of my first visit parts/labor from the real issue. Not only that, he called to tell me he got the part for 100 cheaper than he anticipated and took that off as well! He could have very easily not said anything and pocketed the difference, but Jim and the guys at Five Star are forthcoming and have integrity. I would trust them with my car any day of the week!

Brought some vintage rims to have tires installed. The clerk immediately knew what I needed. Picked up the readily installed and balanced wheels a few hours later. Five stars service, courteous, friendly and very careful. I definitely feel comfortable bringing in my vintage automobiles for maintenance work. Thank you!

Wasted diagnosis fee and credit, which was from their overcharge.No refund even after wrong diagnosis.I ended up going to other repair shop as they gave up fixing my car after several parts replacement for 3 weeks.Finally, my car was repaired in a day from the other repair shop in Mira mesa.Do not waste your valuable time and money here!

Been taking my cars here for years. They always do a good job at a fair price. Customer service is great. Recently took my Toyota van in and needed a water pump. Jim called Toyota and quoted me a price around $900, much less than the $1,700 the dealer wanted to charge. While talking with Toyota, Jim found this was covered under warranty. He called me back with the good news. Paid them for diagnostic and got the water pump for free at the dealer. I would hope most places would deal this honestly with their customers, but am not so sure these days. Thanks again Jim.

This place is great, I've had them do lots of work on lots of my cars. My food truck would not be on the road without them. They are always friendly and helpful, and their quotes are always honest. I've never had any issues with their repairs. My '68 Cadillac is in the shop right now, getting new tires, a new spare tire and rim, a transmission leak repair, new brakes, a rear axle repair, and they are upgrading my car with a new electronic ignition. Any time someone needs automotive repairs, this is who I recommend.

I stumbled on these guys and I am thankful I did. Jim & Tony are wonderful, comedic and are definitely great guys to do business with.They are very fair and upfront with pricing and that's something I feel is important. I drive from Fallbrook to Poway just to have my Jeep serviced here. Once I a reliable Mechanic, I wouldn't trade them for the world.Thank you for being Fair & Honest!

I was recommended to Five Star Auto Service by an acquaintance and brought my car here after having a troubling experience at a dealership service center. Tony was quick to get my car diagnosed and his mechanics informed me what was wrong in about 15 minutes. The cost to repair my car was fair and several hundred dollars below what the dealership was going to charge me. Tony stayed in constant communication with me and gave me updates on the status of my car. Five Star Auto Service will be a place I take my cars to for future repairs.Services: Transmission, Auto engine diagnostic

5StarReviewThank you for a miracle of saving my 203,000 mile vehicle on the last day of my 60 day temporary permit to drive after failing smog. I'm finally registered. The kindest crew you can ever meet. Thank you for your knowledge. The owners and the mechanic all worked together to trouble shoot this complicated almost unfixable vehicle. Through grit and hard work fixed my clunker into a well tuned machine. If anyone needs help these guys are your help. Their honestly comes across with diagnosis and upfront cost. You'll drive away happy.

Jim is the MAN. He told me my battery is still under warranty and told me to change it at Costco. He is super HONEST and knowledgeable and customer centric. This is the only place I would take my car.

Knowledgeable, accurate estimates and scheduling.Fairest shop I've been, and i still recommend them to my friends that drive high maintenance used luxury cars because they don't gouge anyone when they can, like the dealers do.
