My batter was dead this morning, Easter Sunday! I found Pep Boys on Google search & came to the 520 Contra Costa Blvd, Pleasant Hill, CA store where Robert assisted me from check-in through changing out my battery in less than an hour!! He was so courteous, efficient and informative I will most certainly be returning here for anything my vehicle needs in the future. THANK YOU ROBERT!!!

I was blown away by the service here. It was the Friday night before a holiday weekend and before a storm was coming. I needed 2 tires to be replaced. The manager, Robert, went above and beyond to get the right tires for the car and to get it done that night so that I wouldn t have to come back during the storm. I couldn t believe the level of commitment. Jennifer helped with the intake process and was kind and welcoming. She told me to make myself at home in the back with the tv and coffee while I waited. And David, the technician, did a fast and thorough job! Can t recommend this location enough for the excellent customer service and kindness that you don t see as often in the service industry anymore!

took over 3 hours for an oil change I had an appointment for. short staffed and/or incompetent. there's no reason a scheduled oil change should take longer than 1 hour, let alone 3 hours. I have two stars because their conventional oil change is cheaper than any of their major competitors. and the guy at the desk was interesting/funny, quite the character (and i mean that as a compliment). if you value your time and have self-respect, find somewhere else to get an oil change.

Be prepared to wait in line at least 30 minutes even when you have an appointment, just to find out they canceled your appointment without letting you know.According to the advertisement, you make an appointment online and you just drop off the keys; this is not the case.The guy at the front desk could had told us when we arrived; instead he made us wait in line, and after we waited 30 minutes he told us that the website takes appointments, but they are completely booked for the day. We've been coming here for years, but I guess we have to find another location.

Robert was very professional and took my appointment on short notice, that said, it was also easter Sunday. They were fast in completing the job at hand. Would highly recommend this location.

Pep Boys itself is always been an awesome place, in the Pleasant Hill oil changing side they have a very bad apple. I have used this store for the last 15 years. Unfortunately they just have one bad Apple there, who says he s the manager but he s not, he s a assistant manager, sure his name but I will update this later and I will add a picture of him. I would avoid that store. He s there five days out of the seven, so until they get rid of him, I d stay away from them. He s a horrible person. Even the staff cannot stand the guy. He refused to tighten my oil filter, that was leaking on my 2021 Silverado. There was no oil on my dip stick. He refused to tighten it and top it off, even though they had serviced last. I ll have a picture put on here later of the assistant manager.

I've been a patron for over twenty years. Always great interactions with helpful staff. I got my oil changed and tires rotated on my SUV and I was in and out in less than 1.5 hours even though they were short staffed that day.

I have used Pep Boys in Pleasant Hill for nearly 20 years because I received good service up until now. I don't know if it's the management or corporate changes.On Jan. 4th I called for a price on a brake job on my 2017 GMC 1500 and was told $209 per axle. I was headed out of town on a road trip in a few days so set first appointment on 01/05/24. After arriving they told me I needed rotors so it would be over $1300. They then said since I was a loyal customer they would do it for $1183; I agreed and they did the job.Then today, 3/20/24, I had Valvoline change my oil and was told the brake fluid was low and they can't top it off so I went back to Pepboys to have them take a look. They said it's not at max level but they could do a brake fluid change for me for $69.99. Then was told can't top off the fluid and they don't do brake fluid top offs or changes when they do a brake job.Worst automotive service I've ever encountered. Brake job without brake fluid. I had my battery replaced in a Chevy Tahoe. Scheduling online actually worked extremely well. Even when canceling and rescheduling. And their prices were actually lower than what I could find for the same battery for ($219.95 for a 670 cca platinum 48 mo. full replacement warranty).The work was done quickly, they were professionally, and the installation costs were like $13 I think. Now, if the battery dies within 48 mo. they'll install a new replacement battery, so I wont even have to remove it myself.

Got a set of 4 new tires. Service was done faster than I expected and the tires road great for a weekend trip to snow filled Yosemite the next day. Will return for future service for sure!

I recently had a disappointing experience at this Shop. Despite arriving before another customer, we were overlooked and the employee chose to serve the person who came in after us. This resulted in us having to leave without receiving any assistance. The lack of attention to basic customer service and fairness was frustrating and left a negative impression. I would caution others to consider alternative options for their needs.

I booked an appointment twice to get my tires replaced and I was treated terrible by the staff. I had bought my own tires and had previously told the staff. When I went in my second time the worker was really rude to me after I told her that I have my own tires, I was talking calmly but she told me to ZIP MY MOUTH and then told me to leave. Wont come back.

I was able to come in early for an appointment. They offered to do a quick battery check to confirm that I needed a new battery and found out that I did not need one. Also, they put on my new wipers at no extra charge.

Absolutely beautiful shop clean and well maintained called and Robert answered knowledgeable and honest asked to install a battery in my BMW ened up getting oil change but what was nice was Robert honesty when came to the BMW he made sure the car was taken care of this my first time here and I'm happy thanks Robert

not great experience. after the oil change (which took an hour and 30 minutes even when my car immediately got on the lift), many of the clips to hold the plastics under my engine were not replaced / installed properly which lead to my plastics dragging on the ground for a 700 mile round trip to Southern CA. had to go back another time to get them fixed.

I will never go to pep boy s again. The 4 new tire change took 3 hour to do after I had an appointment. My car didn t go on the rack for a hour after I was there. This place is a joke

I made a online appointment for a tire repair and received a confirmation. When I arrived for the scheduled service, I was told that they were too busy to assist me. No communication beforehand, and no offer to take the tire and call me later with an update. The manager seemed overwhelmed and annoyed that I was there. Very negative experience.

Had an appointment for 11am sat in this place for 4 hours car still not started it's now 3pm and technician are walking around smoking cigarettes and taking there time only one car in the the whole place and 4 workers. Don't Come here bad customer service!

Today I had terrible service at this store. The attendant was extremely rude to me and vehemently refused to give me information. I was a Pep Boys customer, but after what happened today, never again! I do not recommend!

Fantastic service! Smooth and efficient, I'm very happy I went there to have the brakes checked. I'll definitely go back for oil changes too. Steven in the front desk was very knowledgeable and patient.Also the wait area and coffee are a bonus, I went with my little one and we spent the morning without any problems. Would definitely recommend!

Manny, Mo and Jack (right?) were staples during my teens in SoCal while learning to drive. Spent hours browsing the vast selection of unique finds while our car was serviced imagining what I'd get for my own car one day. Now, my NorCal home has its own Pep Boys and its just as fun to browse the rows. Perhaps not as many of each item, as times change, but definitely a solution for every vehicle challenge still available here and folks are just as ready to assist.

This was horrible. Do not go here. I got an a appointment and went to this location and they said"that they were busy and that I should leave and come back 8 AM ON A SATERDAY. So I went back saterday morning, they looked at my car tires and said they won't fix them because I had brought my own tires, although had told them I would be bringing my own tires. All this business wants is for you too buy there tires. They told me I was being rude even though I was being calm and respectful, they told me too "ZIP MY MOUTH" which was so utterly disrespectful so left. There customer service was so rude and disrespectful. HORRIBLE PLACE.

Quality service. I was kindly advised that there was one technician working and I could expect a couple hours wait. They were very nice and honest about it. 1.5 hours later, they patched up two punctures on my tire. Easy peasy. Fee wasn t crazy and I was very happy with everything. I would recommend this location and would return.

This store is severely understaffed with underpaid, unmotivated staff. With no other cars they were working on, it took almost 3 hours to change 2 tires. My car just sat there for an out tires as the staff just sat around and chatted. I was disappointed in the work ethic and lack of urgency. I won t be coming back.

Had a 9:30am oil change appointment, got back at 11am and the car wasn't pulled in. You would think if you have an appointment it would be faster.

They don't have much items for your car. The have the regular items but if your looking for extras like things to put your drinks in or comfort items look elsewhere.

I really appreciated the attentive service, and I love the text notifications of the status of your vehicle during the repair and notification of when it's finished and ready. Also had a really nice waiting lounge and restrooms and was close enough to walk up to Starbucks and Target to shop while I was waiting for the vehicle.
