I've been taking my 2007 car to Lisa for a number of years, and I trust her completely. She and her team are thorough, honest, and always give me a clear picture of what is needed to keep my car running safely. She gives me options, helps me set priorities, and her prices are fair. I am so glad to have her in my neighborhood.

Incredible experience. Most thorough inspection of my 2005 Honda Accord that we are trying to get the most out of after 220K miles! Gave us a lot of things to consider about prioritizing certain repairs over others.

This auto shop is the place to go for repairs. Lisa Burns is a top level owner of this shop. I took my car for a steering problem and wanted it safe for taking my 95 year old mother to doctor's appointments. Lisa went over the whole car to make sure there weren't any other issues , which gives me peace of mind. Then my sons car developed an electrical problem and once again Lisa fixed the problem and made sure the car was safe. This is the place you want to take your car with honest work and very fair prices. Go see Lisa Burns for your auto repairs needs, she will give you excellent service!

I highly recommend Dave's Auto. I got a fair price and excellent service - worth every penny! I brought my 21 year old truck in with multiple error codes and running very rough. Lisa and team examined the issue I brought it in for and gave me a run down of contributing factors going on, gave me options for repair and how important it is that I fix them or not, and answered all of my questions about what to expect out of my vehicle at this stage in its life. I never felt pressured or talked down to, and I feel really confident about the quality of the work done. I live on the road and come from a family of mechanics, so I super appreciate the extra care and communication Lisa provided! My truck is my life and it runs beautifully now - better than the day I bought it!

I am so glad I found Dave's Auto Repair. I have a 2002 Ford Focus Stationwagon, with over 325,000 miles, and I intend to hit 400,000, if I can. My car has had all kinds of rattles and sounds (some having gone on for several years) that previous mechanics, elsewhere, have not fixed, could not find the issue or simply didn't put the effort into diagnosing. Dave's was thorough, found the many issues a car that age with that mileage might have and fixed them all. They communicated with me frequently, letting me know what they found and what it would cost. I love my little wagon, it still looks good, its comfortable, so why buy another car. This shop was a nice discovery. They are knowledgable, pleasant, efficient, fairly priced. They explained carefully what was going on with my car in detail, and on my first visit, did not try to aggressively upsell me. I really appreciate this approach. I like to maintain my car well, but I don't like a hard sell at all. I'll definitely go back to Dave's the next time I need work done on my Honda...It's hitting 100K so there will likely be maintenance issues in the coming year, and I feel great knowing there is somewhere I can take it without apprehension!Service: General repairs & maintenance

I ve been coming to Dave s for years now and I have never experienced anything negative. They re just some really honest people who tell you what it is you need and whether or not they can do the job. I have a Camry that I take in for major work (mostly all the time) and I also have a Volkswagen that they don t work on and I appreciate that they let me know upfront that they don t work on that model vs. trying to see if they can do it. Lisa does a wonderfully job explaining what is needed and the costs involved. Grateful to have them in my city! Competent professionals. Quality work at a fair price. I brought in my pick-up with mystery engine problems. Lisa spent quite a bit of time telling me what they'd do to diagnose my suspected clutch issue, then they went ahead and did it. Faster than expected. When I picked up the car I was shown exactly what happened to my clutch and also told what recommended actions should be taken care of soon. She recognized that I couldn't do all of them (for a specific reason) and was fine with my choice and never tried to upsell or push me into doing something that did not make sense. Overall, a great experience and I'll be happy to bring my autos to Dave's Auto Repair in the future.

Daves auto shop has been my mom's mechanic for many years. My alternator died when I was visiting my mom. Dave's auto shop took very good care of my car. I felt very secure knowing my vehicle was double and triple checked to be sure it was fixed and running smoothly. They stayed open late so I could pick up my car in the evening, and be ready to leave in the early morning to make my 4 hour drive home.

Can t say enough good things about Dave s we live in Oakland but make the trek out to Pinole because we love them so much. Lisa is extremely knowledgeable, competent, and willing to take the time to explain the work and the prices, which are always fair. Thanks to Lisa and her team, we drove our 2001 Honda all the way to Death Valley NP last year. Fast and friendly, reliable service. I took my vehicle in for a pre-sale inspection. I also noted a strange vibration with the braking system. Lisa and team gave it a full diagnostic which revealed the break pads should be replaced. She had it ready for me shortly after, with standard mopar parts instead of cheaper replacements. All for a fair price. She explained all of the diagnostic checks, which I really appreciated! I am new to the area, but think I have found my new mechanic shop! The only reason I'm giving them four stars is because I haven't got a second service from them yet. I went to get a oil pressure sensor replaced on my car which I had already known that was the problem. They came up with the same diagnostic result, repaired my car at a a reasonable price and my car has been running perfect since. I will give them five stars when I get another service done on my car. I'm very critical when it comes to giving five Stars. I will say that the customer service was excellent Lisa the receptionist / professional mechanic is very knowledgeable and competent in auto mechanics. I also feel she's trustworthy. I would refer this auto body shop to my mother to all of my friends and I will get five stars next time I get a service done on my car and it comes out just as good good luck.

Took my Mazda in for an electrical issue and what could have easily been a $1600 repair we did for under $300. Lisa and her team gave me several options for repair and we settled on a very very reasonable price. Lisa is honest and a true professional. Will take my other cars to her in the future.

My experience with Dave's Auto Repair was excellent. I requested online to be scheduled for an appointment first-thing the next day, and they responded before the end of the workday. They took my description of what was going on with my car and diagnosed it (along with other maintenance issues that needed to be flagged) within a few hours of dropping it off. I especially appreciated that Lisa walked me through each item on the phone and explained the significance of each issue, along with suggestions for what needed fixing immediately, what to keep an eye on before fixing, and what could be fixed on my own timetable. After ordering parts and performing repairs, my car was ready the following afternoon. Dave's Auto Repair values service, and I felt very taken care of in my first experience with them. I will definitely return for future repairs and maintenance because I trust them completely.

Great job, took me in the day I called and had the alternator repair done before close of business! My 2006 Honda Accord EX has a lot of miles, about 160k. Dave's Auto Repair has serviced my accord since it was new. Lisa always tells me when something needs to be addressed, especially if it's safety related. I had my transmission go out but it wasn't a surprise because Lisa had told me it was going to happen. Knowing ahead of time allowed me to save up for the new transmission or decide if I wanted to buy a different car. I elected for the new transmission and the car runs better then ever. Now that my car is older it's requiring more attention and I'll always take it to Dave's. The level of honesty, understanding of how important my vehicle is to family transportation and the focus on safety first is why I continue to use this shop. You can't ask for more in an automotive repair shop!!

I decided to buy my mid-life crisis car. Lisa determined what the issues were, provided a quote with a caveat that more may be found once they were working on the car, and then started working on the car.To say I'm thrilled with the result is a serious understatement. I now have my muscle car and can continue on my adventures without having to worry about my car.Lisa always treats me and all of her clients with respect and honesty. Her honesty is what keeps bringing me back. This is the best shop!

This is the second time I've brought my car to Dave's Auto repair and will definitely go back. They are honest, good at what they do, and very upfront about what they are going to do and how much it will cost. They even told me things that I thought needed to be done that actually didn't, which saved me a bunch of money.They are my mechanics now. Highly recommended!

Ms Lisa and her technicains did a great job on my Yukon Xl. The recommendation via nextdoor was with high remarks. I like to have more than one knowledgeable auto teclinician who won't give you the run around or BS. In life, you need a good lawyer, a good plumber and a good mechanic...not necessarily in that order BUT, I trust my truck will be taken care of at Dave's. Lisa explains EVERYTHING and knows what she's talking about. I suggest you get a good permanent mechanic you can trust with your precious wheels!After having a mechanic for over twenty years in SF, I needed a new one where I live now.Located in the small town of Pinole, the shop has a friendly, family feel and the place is CLEAN. Top quality repair for a total engnine replacement. They providied me with honest recommendation of service and choice of components. They assigned a top level technician to focus on the job. The result was a seemless transition for an old engine with >240k mi to a longblock remanufactured engine. The vehicle runs smoothly. There was nothing left undone that would have had to be re-worked. Totally pleased with the care and craftsmanship they brought to this big job.
