Better than great service. I brought my transmission in for the lock up converter not engaging. I was told I had the wrong converter. For my car. After I received my transmission and installed it . The torque converter was bad. The transman warrantied the torque . He DID NOT install the transmission originally. He pulled my transmission under warranty. I tried to pay him for the work . He would not take my money and only charged me for a couple of other small thing I knew were broken. I have never had to fight for someone to take my money. This place dose great work and stands behind their products. You can not find a more honest shop. I had a bad product and came in with a good attitude and was treated better than I would have been at another shop. Great work and great employees.

Monty Cooper is the best transmission guy in the county. So say many of our mutual friends who have known him since high School. He rebuilt my van transmission recently. His price was 25% less than the other estimates I got. When I asked about his guarantee he said, " l guess till I die..."

The owner is a friend of a friend so I was very optimistic. After 5 months I am far less enthusiastic about the services of rebuild two 48re transmissions which are from dodge ram diesel trucks (2005, 2006 years). Both transmissions failed within two weeks of each other and I was eager to have the work done at Transman Transmissions because I thought he was knowledgeable and honest. June 30 is the day I brought the 1rt truck in for a transmission rebuild and I got it back in mid November. I thought I would get a fair deal and maybe I did if you do not consider he kept my $1500 Goerend triple disc torque converter and it took 4 months to get the truck back then it went back to him due to transmission slipping on modest acceleration. When I asked him to return my torque converter he suggested I had no recourse. He did not ask if he could have it nor did he mention anything about it until I picked up the truck. I still do not have my torque converter back but will file a complaint with BAR (Bureau of Automotive Repair). To make matters worse he slipped in a economy transmission which is supposedly rated at higher horse power but clearly isn't. and he charged me $600 for it. The 2nd transmission was estimated at $2200 repair cost and again he kept the heavy duty torque converter. He again charged me for a new one and again kept it without telling me anything until I picked up the truck. This bill on this one almost doubled to $3800.plus $800 without ever telling me that we were exceeding the $2200 repair. His comment on the 2nd torque converter was the input spool was broken. I can say I pulled that transmission apart before I brought it into him and inspected the torque converter and it was not broken then and the truck was towed to his business so I don't understand how such a substantial piece of steel could "break" as he described. THis is the same steel shaft that took over 600 foot/pounds of torque and 325 horse power from the engine to the pump in the transmission. As of today the 2nd truck needs to go back in because hydraulic fluid Transmission fluid) is leaking from the top of the transmission. Niether truck has been drive for more that 200 miles at this point-I will write a follow up review when the 2nd truck is repaired and when I get my two torque converters.
