One of the head mechanics here took the time out of a packed schedule to see if he could diagnose an engine issue I was having, completely for free. He didn't try to sell me anything or keep me around. Feels like these guys are really trustworthy and would be a great option for anyone needing a local mechanic.

After multiple attempts to call and a few messages left with no return call, I finally got a hold of Maria. I inquired about a timing chain replacement estimate on my CRV and after she said that in all their years they'd never had to replace one on a CRV, I'd agreed that I wasn't sure that was the issue (diagnosed as possible from another shop) and mentioned that I understood they are typically reliable vehicles that are not likely to have such an issue. Maria agreed quickly and hung up on me without any further conversation... I would love to be leaving a positive review on good, fair service and repair rendered however I received short and seemingly rude customer service instead. Not sure what to make of this as I'd previously heard positive feedback but certainly have not had the same experience thus far. Maria seemed salty that after being ignored for the past year and no return call after several messages, that I had taken the vehicle elsewhere what would one expect? Not wanting new or return business is baffling to me, at least some common decency/courtesy to long standing community members would be wise business imo.

Best mechanic in Petaluma for my Toyota. Maria and Darrell are awesome and super responsive. Would recommend to anyone who has cars in their speciality line of work. Don t be afraid to call they are super helpful!

Very kind, reasonably priced and my car was ready in one hour as they said it would be. Definitely coming back! We live in SR but heard good things about them. Walked to Saxs for breakfast

You can't get any better than Maria, Daryl, and her awesome team of mechanics. I'm not kidding when I say I am going to make them a thank you card whenever I move far away enough to have to get a mechanic. They are thorough, their waiting room is adorable, and your car will be well cared for and carefully inspected. Best mechanics I've ever had.

I needed a prepurchase inspection done on a car I was buying and Out West was the only garage in town that could do it immediately (even though they are booked out several weeks!). They cleared their schedule for me. Very professional, knowledgeable, and thorough! (I bought the car after their inspection ). And their waiting room is filled with so many interesting things and comfortable like a room in your own house, that it kept my 13 year old boy occupied the whole time! I would give 10 stars if possible! Excellent experience highly recommended!!Service: Vehicle Inspection

I always know I'm in good hands when I bring my car to Maria. I brought it for the 150,000 mile check up and everything was done thoroughly. The safety issues were covered (plus I love the candy). I know they'll never cut corners.

Out West was recommended to me by a friend, and I am so lucky! My sweet old car suddenly bit the dust and Darrell and Maria at Out West were compassionate and hard working during the whole process. First they checked everything out, did not charge me for that service, and then allowed me time to figure out what I wanted to do. I also appreciated their patience for letting my car sit on their lot while I figured out my next steps. From my oil change to a sad goodbye, the people that work at Out West do a great job and are incredibly friendly and you won t be sorry for taking your car here!

THIS is THE place to go if you have a hybrid... Maria the owner is very knowledgeable and realistic about estimates when it comes to pricing and scope of work. I especially like that the language of 'cars' is simplified in a way that I understand what needs to be done.AND it's CLEAN - really clean. One doesn't need to worry about walking away with a stain after they've touched something. Definitely raises the bar where other garages are concerned.Another bonus is a really cozy room to wait in while your car is being worked on - magazines, books, t.v., charging cords for electric devices, and comfortable furniture to sit on - you could almost fall asleep in there.Five stars baby - doesn't get better than this!

As a girl who doesn't know a lot about auto mechinic stuff and has felt taken advantage of many times in the past - Out West Garage is a dream come true!Out West has integrity, kindness and know-how. Their pricing feels extremely fair and I completely trust their mechanics.Also, the garage is owned and run by a woman, which is the icing on the cake! Ladies - you will not feel as though you are being talked down to, BSed or as though you have paid for anything unnecessary. I highly recommend!

THIS IS THE ONE YOU'RE LOOKING FOR! Fantastic Service - Honest and Friendly Staff! Once in a while you get lucky and find exactly what you're looking for - that's Out West Garage!2/13/18 - I've just had my second encounter with Out West Garage after ALL the warning lights and bells lit up on my dash last Thursday on my drive home from work. Darrell asked me to bring it straight to Out West, where they hooked it up to their computer to find out what was wrong. It turned out to be something called the "hybrid electric water pump", which was under recall. Darrell arranged to have the car towed to Hansel Toyota where they were able to have the problem taken care of by the next day at noon. When my car has a problem and I call Out West, I feel like someone is on my side - their primary concern is for my safety, not for money, which gives me incredible peace of mind.After putting off service on my 10-year-old Prius for an embarrassingly long time, I recently started a new job that requires a longer commute than I'm used to. I saw glowing reviews here on Yelp! for Out West Garage, so I gave them a call late on a Friday afternoon to see if I could set up an appointment. Maria asked me a few questions about my car, then asked if I could come right over - she wanted to check my oil, tires, and fluids right away because she was actually concerned for my safety (we've been having some rain lately)! While I waited in the famously cosy waiting room (where I was fortunate to find a new friend in another customer who was waiting there), they were able to change my oil, rotate my tires, check my brakes, top off all my fluids (and a lot of other things I've forgotten), and send me home in under an hour - for A LOT less than I was expecting to pay.I know a lot of women who've had bad experiences and been taken advantage of by unethical mechanics - the same has happened to me. I feel completely at home with Maria and her crew, and I promise you won't be disappointed if you give them a call!

With the best customer service and an awesome waiting room (you just have to see it yourself), Outwest is by far the best auto servicing and repair shop I've ever known. I've been taking my cars to outwest -and only outwest- for 4 years now. Maria and Darrell are just fantastic! They are honest and straightforward and the work there is done well and for a very reasonable price. Outwest is the number one place I'd reccomend to anyone looking for an auto shop for their car. Outwest has a customer for life from and my family!

I have a 2005 Subaru Outback, and Out West is the only place I'll take it, on the rare occasion it needs mechanic attention. Excellent service, friendly, prompt. They are all around fantastic!

I went here for my 60k tune up. They did not try to upsale me on anything. Also I had them check the trasmission because I had taken it to another garage and was told There was 1.4k worth of work that had to be done on the transmission but they checked the car and there were no transmission issues.

I am new to the area and found Out West Garage through a Google search. Darrell could not have been more than helpful! Brought my Prius in to check on a couple warning lights that came on for my ABS system. He hooked it up to the machine and identified the issue. With a little research he told me it was an issue Toyota had identified and added an extended warranty for the part. The part was fixed for free by Toyota. So while I have yet to actually pay for service at Out West Garage, it will certainly be my first choice when another issue arises or my car requires maintenance next.

A troubling trouble indicator lit up on the dash of my car. I called Out West, Maria swiftly ran a check, discovered the malfunction associated with the code, and ruefully gave me the startling quote to fix. HOWEVER before I could haul my chin off the floor, Maria checked a few online resources and discovered this problem would be covered by the auto manufacturer, not as a recall, but as a known issue for which service was quietly provided free of charge. Maria printed out the details, and sent me sheaf in hand to find a dealership, freeing me, and her garage, of well over $500. Top drawer professionalism all the way. The reason I originally took my car to Out West for routine oil changes was on recommendation of a friend, who said "Out West--very ethical, Maria is delightful." I concur all the way. 10 stars out of 5 in my book.

The Best Car repair Shop in Petaluma, We got big engine noise in our Toyota Avalon, after Maria check the Car, find the car Exhaust pipe cut, than Maria recommended us go to Muffler shop to fix, it only take 45 Minutes to fix the Car noise, and cost little, compare other repair shop they need us pay 1000, Maria is very Honest and Friend , So we think Maria is the best repair shop in Petaluma we will ask all my friends to visit their shop, if friend have any car issue, thank Maria for your great help, You are the best repair shop in California, Your shop is qualify for Five Star Plus!!!
