Very shady practices at this dealership.You know how people always joke about how sleazy car salesmen can be? There is a reason for that and apparently Hansel goes the extra mile to prove how trashy they can be!My husband got a call from the Hansel Toyota Dealership in Petaluma asking if we were interested in selling our 2017 Toyota 4Runner. It has very low miles (58k for 7 years old) and always had seat and mat covers. So it's in mint condition and perfect exterior too. See the pictures, its a great vehicle.The sales guy said they'd offer around 30k for it. We figured that would be great and we wouldn't have to bother selling ourselves. So he drives 50 miles out of his way and when he gets there the offer is only for $25k...what a waste of time and gas. The old bait 'n switch. The sales guy said they wouldn't make any money if they gave us $30k. Well maybe you shouldn't give false estimates just to lure people in. He even discussed the amount in depth on the phone BEFORE arranging to come down. This isn't a misunderstanding or a perceived idea, they lied to us just to get us there.HANSEL TOYOTA YOU NEED TO BE HONEST WITH PEOPLE!!This is why we won't be buying from you or any Hansel dealer in the future. And we've done quite a bit of business over the years.Also, your reply to me acting like I just misunderstood? That's just condescending.....

I am sincerely impressed by the exceptional treatment I received at Hansel. Special commendation to Ayman for his outstanding assistance, showcasing a level of respect and genuine commitment to helping customers that sets this dealership apart. The negotiation process was seamless, devoid of haggling, and they even extended a discount before discussions commenced. I must also acknowledge AC, who went above and beyond by personally reaching out to explain, with utmost respect, the limitations regarding a different car inquiry. This exemplifies the exemplary customer service that Hansel and their team consistently provide. My gratitude for an outstanding experience!

I just went through the 5th sales procedure with this location and I should have stopped with the first vehicle.Registration not correct, mailing address not correct, vehicle in a business name instead of an individual, vehicle features being used as a selling point and then those features are not present on the vehicle, rebates being changes and not disclosed until signing.I have had a problem each time I do a deal and now I am done with Hansel Petaluma. 5 transactions, 4 to many.Yesterday was the worst purchase experience to date.I'll be calling the sales department today to ensure they know.

I just purchased my new beautiful Rav4 hybrid from Hansel Toyota and have nothing but positive things to say!I was in the market for a Rav4 hybrid for a looong time and Ivan and the team took such good care of me from the initial email inquiry until the day I finally got to pick her up. When I initially got in contact with them they didn t have any models available for me to reserve or purchase, but they stayed in contact with me and let me know when something finally came up couple weeks later.Hansel Toyota prioritizes keeping their cars in the Bay Area rather than overpricing them and selling them to a highest bidder in other areas/state which I really appreciate.From my initial visit to put my deposit down Ivan and the whole team were so friendly and professional. When my vehicle was finally delivered few weeks later, the entire financing/purchasing process was so seamless and hassle free. They really took care of everything while I just enjoyed my coffee and hung around the dealership.Now I m home with my new Rav4 and couldn t be happier! THANK YOU IVAN and the whole Hansel Toyota team, I m so grateful and pleased with my experience.I will be sending all of my future Toyota-seeking friends your way!

If you purchase a car here, be thorough. Our car had coffee stains on the roof, loose radio buttons. Also, after we got on the road the new car had no gas! We were told we could get a 10$ voucher if we drove the salesman to the gas station then back. What does that tell you about management and care for the customers. Joke.

Chris Camp is the best salesperson I have ever worked with. I inquired about a used Tacoma at Hansel and Chris gave me a call right away. I live in Sunnyvale and asked Chris if he could ensure the truck was still on the lot and if he could check it for any noticeable dents/scratches/stains. He immediately went and found the truck and provided me with a bunch of pictures and ensured that the truck was in great condition. He set the truck aside for me as my family and I made the 1 hour and 45 minutes drive from Sunnyvale to Petaluma.The truck was absolutely beautiful, but the service did not stop there. Chris ensured that I took the truck on a long test drive, and when we got back he made sure that my pre-approval rate from my credit union (which was better than Toyota's current rate by 2%) was the rate we used during financing. At no point did he try and upsell me, he respected my time and worked quickly to get the financing started.Ivan Pacheco was also great. He had all the financing paperwork printed and ready for me. Again, no upselling and he was super helpful in explaining the details of the financing deal. It was easily the fastest and smoothest financing deal I ve ever done at a dealership.The Toyota Hansel store itself is also amazing! When I walked in I was confused because the ambiance is similar to a coffee shop, not a car dealership (and I mean that in a good way). Also, the coffee machine they have made a really decent cup of coffee! Chris had the detail team clean up the truck before sending me on my way back to Sunnyvale.Easily the best experience I have had at any car dealership. I find it especially nice that even though I was buying a used vehicle I felt like I was getting the new car treatment. 10 out of 10 would definitely buy from Hansel again.

Interesting how I never received a survey about my experience. They were the worst Completely clueless I bought a vehicle and no one in sales or service could explain the operation of all of the bells and whistles No one had any idea how to use or what all of the control buttons were for Love Toyota but will never come back to this place

I recently purchased a used Ford Ranger from Hansel Toyota. They gave me a great deal for my trade-in and the Ranger was priced below Kelley Blue Book. I couldn't be happier with my new truck and the Sales Consultant Chris Camp was super helpful, efficient and the whole sales process was seamless. I strongly recommend purchasing a used car from Hansel Toyota in Petaluma.

I had many problems with them, but I ll try to keep it short.They have hidden fees you can t opt out of. They tried to tack on more expenses I did not ask for. They were more complicated in their finance paperwork than the other dealer I went to. When I asked them why my car got worse gas mileage after getting it serviced with them said in essence, it s because they use blended oil instead of full synthetic like they should, as though that was an acceptable answer.I would prefer to drive several hours to shop with Ammar Toyota in Vacaville if I buy another Toyota, and I will get my car serviced with Freeman Toyota.

Wow, Hansel Toyota just took every preconceived notion that I had about car dealerships and threw them out the window! You know, the pushy sales people; the dealership trying to ring you dry or up-sell at every corner...and so on... I experienced NONE of that. I live in SF, drove up to Petaluma to purchase a new RAV4, and I would do so again in a heartbeat.Protip: just do your homework, have a general idea of what you're looking for, so that you can walk in a dealership confident and avoid being nervous or on the defensive. Treat the employees at the dealership as you would want to be treated, after all, they're human beings just trying to do their jobs, like you! Be kind and that will go A LONG WAY.To Ayman, Christian, and all of the staff at Hansel Toyota: a heartfelt thanks for making this such a positive and memorable experience. They are all, really, a wonderful group of people.(The car is ok, too)

I want to share my experience with Hansel. To start my Service Rep was Anthony Soriano. Anthony's professionalism and customer service was amazing. I went in for a regular oil change and he did not pressure me, like other dealership service centers, to purchase other unnecessary services. I appreciate this way of doing business...customer focussed. An issue arose after my scheduled service that could not be anticipated and Anthony diagnosed the problem in about 10 seconds. He sent my car back to be handled by a technician and once handled sent me off with a thank you and a hand shake...the way it's supposed to be done. My experience at Hansel, thanks to Anthony, is why I have been a customer for 10 years now. Thank you Anthony and thank you Hansel!

From the start Mark was very responsive and extremely helpful. He assisted with my deposit for the new grand highlander hybrid max. He is one of the best sales associates I have had the pleasure working with in the past five years I have purchased two other Toyota from the dealer and he was not pushy, very kind empathetic. I did have my two kiddos wirb me and he was very kind.if you go to Hansel make sure you ask for Mark Johnson!

Ricardo and team gave us an amazing experience. We bought a 2022 Tundra Platinum. Not only did they avoid a hard sell, they also got the car deep cleaned, and delivered to us in the east bay so we wouldn t have to drive back (2 hours round trip) when the car was ready.Highly recommend to anyone else whose thinking of buying a new car!

I have been to numerous Toyota milestone services over the past 8 years, but this particular visit (first for me in this area) stood out as little different. Unlike previous experiences, there was no check-in at the vehicle, and no one greeted customers as three of us pulled up. People were parking themselves in the line and then heading inside. Once inside there was a lack of clear instructions on where to proceed. I followed my instincts and approached one of the counters, only to be politely but firmly directed to back up and join the line at the end of a table (there was no line, nor any marking the line starts there). The representatives seemed preoccupied and I was informed that they would approach me when available. I waited for a full 20 (!) minutes before someone finally acknowledged my arrival. This was highly unusual for a Toyota dealership.Also, this was the first time a Toyota dealership had tried to tack in services over the necessary services outlined in the manual for this milestone. I asked them to only include what s in the manual and do not add anything additional. They tried one more time to include some add-ons, and I had to decline it the second time.However, once I was checked in, the remainder of the appointment proceeded smoothly, and the clerk was courteous. It was just the initial check-in process that left me feeling perplexed, as it was unlike any Toyota experience I had encountered before. This would rate as 3.5 out of 5!

This place sold me a car that has a myriad of problems, then sold me an expensive contract that was supposedly to make it worry free. Except every time I bring the car in (to Honda next store, also owned by them) they charge me $99. Whether it s to turn off a check engine light, due to their car s malfunction or it s an oil change it s about a hundred dollars. When there was a bent exhaust pipe they said it wasn t covered. $900 dollars was the quote. The guy down the street in Sonoma fixed it for $150. When I called last week to see if I needed to go to them for the supposedly needed oil change, they said any Honda could honor the contract. I get here and they say actually oil changes aren t covered (it was their system that told me to come in). So I came to a Honda for no reason. When I complained no apology. When I went to talk to the sales person about this $3500 service contract that has not covered even one of the four problems this year, he straight up said the lesson is you should read contracts more carefully. Thats it. Great customer service.The two stars I m giving them are for the one salesman who was actually motivated to sell me my car a year ago. The rest of them didn t even try.Go elsewhere and don t buy the automotive contract from Honda- it sucks.

I have wanted a Tacoma for a very long time, but refused to pay thousands of dollars over MSRP for one. A friend of mine recently purchased a Tacoma from this dealership and gave me a contact number to reach out to. I initially made contact with Patty, who took my information and what I was looking for and shared with her coworker Luscinda. From the start both Patty and Luscinda were a complete joy to work with. My initial contact was through email and text as I was living in Bakersfield, and Hansel Toyota is 4.5 hours away in Petaluma. After providing Luscinda with my information and informing her I needed a sweet deal in order to get me to drive 4.5 hours to pick up the truck, suffice it to say Luscinda did not disappoint!!! I got a deal on my Tacoma and paid less than the MSRP. That was enough to get me to drive 4.5 hours! Once I arrived to the dealership to pick up my new truck, all the paperwork was already completed and I went right in to finance, where I was greeted and assisted by Martin. Martin was very friendly and personable during my entire process. Having completed everything ahead of time online, made the finance process move much faster. I've purchased many new vehicles in my life, and this by far was the best experience. I think I was at the dealership a total of 1 hour from my arrival to driving off with my new truck. If you're in the market for a new Toyota, make Hansel Toyota your first stop. Be sure to ask for Luscinda. She was very professional and polite during my car buying experience, and I'm sure she will do the same for you.

One of the best experiences I have ever had at a dealership!!! If you don't see the car your looking for on the lot go talk to Ricardo, Chris or Ivan. They found it for us and we signed the papers with Joey two days later. Very professional, informative, and honest. If your looking for a used car salesman to b.s. you go somewhere else.

Purchasing the truck was the easy part, love the truck, but was promised the second key fob with in 90 days. 90 days has passed and now being told it will not be available until at the earliest the end of summer. I would have bought something else if i was told i had to wait six months for a second key. I was also told I can buy a second key now, but Toyota will not cover it. They apologized over and over again, but I don't need an apology I need my second key.

Absolutely Amazing!! Being in the auto repair industry, servicing a wide range of vehicles, I know cars well. That said, Hansel Toyota, their products and ALL of their staff are without a doubt "a cut above the rest".In our visit and ultimately our buy, we received attentiveness and genuine concern for our needs. What we expected was a pitch, like most do. However, what we experienced at Hansel was true dedication to the Hansel family name and their products, but even more so, to their customers.Ayman was our salesman. I couldn't say enough great things about this human being. When we got to the dealer initially, he greeted us like a friend. After I bought our new car, we hugged like brothers, family.

Tilly at Hansel Toyota made our experience one of the best you could ask for. Hansel is not pushy and very happy to help when you need it. The manager, Jim, was helpful and knowledgeable. Tilly answered all of our questions, multiple times over with lighthearted patience and pure professionalism. He spent the better part of his day making sure we felt confident and happy with our purchase. We walked away with the exact car we wanted and enjoying the experience from start to finish. They checked in the day after the purchase and let us know that they are there for any questions we may have. I would recommend them 100%.

Keenan Stone is the best! Since first talking with Keenan, he did nothing but do his best to help me out. I had a great deal with another dealership and Keenan was able to work with his General Manager and beat it. He had the vehicle I wanted but just not in the right color. After a few short days and some magic, I was on my way to the dealership to get the exact Tacoma that I wanted.To save some time, he gave me paperwork to fill out ahead of time.When I got to the dealership, everything was ready. The truck was clean, inside and out. Considering COVID-19, he took extra precaution to help sanitize the inside for my safety. We reviewed the paperwork and everything was just as we agreed upon.Keenan introduced me to Darin in finance. Darin was able to work with me and give me a great price on extra warranty and service packages.I highly recommend working with Keenan and everyone at Hansel Toyota. I literally called 30 dealerships in the area and visited a handful. I was not as impressed with them as I was with Hansel Toyota.

**UPDATE 5/9/22**Ryan, the Sales Director for Hansel met with me in person at the dealership to review the experience. He put me into contact with the Director of Finance who helped make this right on 5/9/22. Patty removed the service plans and safeguard solution and found an alternative lender at a 2.3% interest rate. John, the Sales GM, is handling the detail of the vehicle. Overall, the management at Hansel has done their job to make this right on what should have been an easy transaction. Due to 3 trips back to the dealership and the time associated to make this right a 3 star review is being granted. I do believe that this dealership can provide 4/5 star service with the right team members. I appreciate their desire to resolve the matter.**ORIGINAL REVIEW**A few things to note from this review. The vehicle that I had on order for a month arrived 3 days prior to me picking up. Upon arrival the brand new Tacoma SX was dirty both inside and out. The truck had 2 paint chips on the rear tailgate (not fixed). Chris C acknowledged that he would make this right at a later date.The really bad. The back office finance experience. Andy seems like a nice guy but he is your typical slick finance guy sign here, here, and here. A $995.00 stargard theft device was added on. No mention to this ever during signing nor prior to purchase. I would not recommend this dealership. I really feel like I was taken advantage of. When I was originally ordering the vehicle I was told that the interest rate would be around 2.5%, I signed at 5%+. A warning call would have been nice to ensure that I or any customer could still qualify for the lending

We were treated excellent. Hansel had a vehicle that was hard to find and they still treated us fair. Most of the other dealers we contacted wanted more money for the hard to find Toyota Tacoma we wanted. Other dealers wouldn't honor the Costco discount but Hansel did. It is a very nice facility and the staff was very professional. I would give two suggestions to anyone buying a vehicle1 The Costco discount is available for the extended warranty. This was lost at the finance stage and we had to bring it up to get a considerable discount on the extended warranty. The first price we were given was without the discount!2-Thoroughly inspect the vehicle. our vehicle had a dent in it that they didn't catch. Once we found the dent, they were very professional and are going to take care of it at a later date.Thanks Keenan(salesman) and Gary(finance manager) for the customer service, it is greatly appreciated!

My experience at Hansel was by far the best car buying experience I ve had! From the moment I walked in, to finance, to singing paperwork. All was quick, easy and painless. I truly felt that the entire team was focused on helping me decide on a car that I truly wanted and that made me happy and not just trying to sell a car. I would recommend anyone who is looking to buy a car to head over to Hansel! I will absolutely be going back for all my future vehicles!

I had a great experience at Petaluma Toyota. Keenan went above and beyond to help me get exactly what I wanted. He was super friendly and didn't try to push or over sell. I felt comfortable and would absolutely refer him. For the financial part of the transaction, I worked with Darrin. He was also really great and helped me understand all the paperwork and we were in and out super fast. All and all it was a great experience, Thanks guys!
