I would not go there again even if was paid to do so. We were on a road trip with my wife and 5 year old when the engine started overheating. I stopped, checked and the coolant was almost entirely empty. Instead of just driving to the closest Love s (5min away) and adding coolant I added tap water, then drove to Love s and bought 3 bottles of coolant. Then I realized that I d rather have a pro mechanic do the flush and add the coolant, just in case. Saw that this shop had great reviews and got there. Explained the situation and the rest you can find below:Communication: 0 out of 5: They told me they would call me in 1hr. They did not. I Called them in 1h10m and asked for info. No news and did not tell me when they would call back. Then 2h30m after I dropped off the car I called again and they told me that the car will be ready in 20min.Sticking to the deal: 0 out of 5: when I got to the shop they had already added their own coolant and they did not use the coolant I had bought from Love s. I specifically told them twice that I had coolant and they told me that once they figure out if there is a leak they will call me (which they never did see above) and then we can discuss which coolant to addHonestly: 0 out of 5: Once I got to the shop they told me that they did not find a leak. So I asked how come the coolant was gone. They told me that sometimes if the radiator cap is not good the coolant escapes from there. So they had ordered a good cap which they are waiting for now. Yes, that was 3hours after drop-off!!!!! Guy calls supposedly the spare parts dealer to see where the part is. Then turns to his kid, tells him in Spanish (so I wouldn t understand) to go across the street and get a cap from somewhere (I could not catch the last bit, as my Spanish is rusty). Sure enough, the kid immediately walks away and 2min later comes with a brand new cap in his hands.Price: 1 out of 5: I had to spend $280 for a leak test (that at this point I am not sure it even happened) and coolant that I did not ask for (I told them I had bought coolant myself and that it is in the trunk twice)Summary: Took too long, zero communication, felt I was getting f@cked with. Will NEVER go again to that shop.I challenge them to contest my points one by one.Such bullcrap experience .

Erin's shop has been a go-to for my family vehicles ever since we moved to Patterson. His shop is reliable and efficient. He always presents options for maintenance and repairs and includes his recommendation and the prices are fair.One thing that stands out is that every time I have dropped off a vehicle for maintenance or repair and did not have a ride back home he had one of his staff members drop me off at home.You just don't see that kind of family oriented business and incredible customer service anymore, but you get that at Erin's shop.I wholeheartedly recommend this shop and will continue to be a return customer.

The people here are courteous, kind and very helpful and have done excellent car maintenance on my car which unfortunately i had a sad experiences before with other car shop center s personel. Continue your great service to people we appreciate all you do! Thank you!

I recently found myself in a bind when I realized I needed an oil change at the last minute. I called around to a few different mechanics, but none of them seemed able to fit me in on such short notice. That's when I found this shop.From the moment I called, I knew I was in good hands. The person who answered the phone was friendly and accommodating, and assured me that they could take care of my oil change right away. When I arrived at the shop, I was greeted with a smile and was quickly taken care of.The service itself was fast and efficient, but what really stood out to me was the level of care and attention to detail that the staff showed. They didn't just change my oil and send me on my way - they also checked my air filters. It was clear that they were committed to providing the best service possible, even on short notice.Overall, I couldn't be happier with my experience. I do not typically leave reviews but I had to come leave one on this one .This shop is amazing the people here are great.Irwin is running a great shop. I have gotten my oil changed here a few times and recently just got some bodywork done my car is looking brand new ! The work on my car was done before the time that they gave me .Plus they give very reasonable prices . Anything car related this is definitely the place to go !Services: Auto detailing, Oil change

I was stranded on I-5 hours away from home. I did not know what was wrong with my car and was worried of being scammed by a mechanic as I am not familiar with the area. Irwin and his team did a great job and answered all my questions. Service was fairly priced and quick. I was able to arrive home without any problem.**Se Habla Espa�ol**

My car was brought in for dash board lights flashing, car losing all power, and steering wheel tightening up. All power lost. Tow truck driver and other mechanics all thought it was the alternator. The owner suggested a diagnostic to make sure, which I did. In the end it saved me hundreds of dollars because it turned out to be very dirty battery terminals and a dirty fuse connected to battery. Most people don t trust mechanics. This is the second time in many years the owner has shown his honesty. He did a hose job without charging me a few years back. He could of made hundreds more by telling me it was my alternator when it wasn t. I had that happen years ago at a dealership.I highly recommend this mechanic shop for their quality work and honesty as well as fair prices.It beats going out of town to the dealer. I m happy to have an honest and local mechanic within walking distance that I can count on! My son's car broke down on the way to LA from the Bay Area and we ended up at Mechanics Express and Import Repair. Thank goodness! Irwing and his team got him back on the road quickly and with a very reasonable charge for the services. It was a great relief to feel we were in good hands so far from home. I m a single female travelling alone which usually means I m going to get ripped off.. Irwing got me in immediately, was very thorough and completely transparent about the repair. I have an old school Chevy Camaro Z28 sports car that I've had for 21 years now. I'm extremely particular where I send my car to have Any work done to it. I decided to have my engine tightened up on it recently and brought it here. This was one of the Best decisions I've made for my car in a long time. I took a chance with this company because they were close to home and I've heard a lot of great things about them. They were well worth the risk! Thanks Jason and James for treating my car like it was one of your own. I appreciate the call back afterwards as well to make sure that I was fully satisfied with the work that was done. You guys went above and beyond my expectations to make me happy and satisfied which not many mechanics tend to do nowadays. I recommend Anyone with a vehicle problem to come see you guys. Erwin saved my car! Appreciate the professional service and honesty. I broke down a day before my birthday on the highway for 7 hours..I was 4 hours away from home. Finally got a tow and thankfully Erwin was able to get me in, diagnosed the problem and got me back on the road to get home for my birthday. Appreciate the service very much. Great group of people here. Came in as a walk in and they had no problem taking my car. Had to get an oil change, tire rotation, brake pads and rotors done. They even had an employee take me home because the job would be and hour or 2. You won't find hospitality like this at any big dealership. Thank you.

Traveling south on I-5 I had some car trouble midday on a Sunday. Early next morning I took my Subaru into Mechanics Express to see if they could get me back on the road. Irwin understood my situation, that I was stranded and said he could get on it right away. He had me back on the road by Noon. Quality service at a fair price. What more would you want from a auto repair garage? Highly recommended.

I was passing through California and needed a new timing belt. After calling multiple shops I called this one and not only was the price acceptable, they were able to get the parts and finish the job early the following day. I was back on the road! They alerted me to a few other things that need some attention, but stuck to the job and didn't try to gouge me. It felt like quality work at a reasonable price. The customer service was excellent, and having driven another thousand miles I can say that the work was done properly. They even drove me 10 miles to my hotel and picked me up the next day! I'm very satisfied.

I honestly want to give these guys a 5 star because while we were there it was a good experience but it turned into a nightmare.We were driving from LA back to Chico on the 5N when my car check engine light started blinking and my bf started losing power. We immediately got off the freeway and pulled over. This was the third place we called, the second that answered and the first that could get us in. We were ecstatic! Irwin was soooo nice, helpful and sympathetic.We told them what happened.After running several tests on the car and driving it himself; the codes on the car weren't reflecting our experience nor was Irwins own driving of the vehicle.They said the oil was crazy low, topped us off, reset the check engine light, charged us $110 for the report and said that the car was safe enough to make it back to chico and that it will be fine but to have someone take a look at it sooner than later. Great. We trusted him: assumed that since he couldn't replicate what we described and he drove the car that we were good to go.Wrong.Less than 15 minutes later the car not only had the check engine light blinking but the entire rest of the car had all the warning lights go on and eventually shut off. NOW not only does it not drive but it also has a metal sound that didn't exist before.I should also mention that my car window worked fine prior to pulling it in but somehow it's now not working and costing me an extra $500 to repair.It was obvious to me that the car had serious issues and yet we were recommended to drive it back.Needless to say, it made whatever issues my car had worsen.This led to a 3 hour wait time for a tow, and a 3 hour tow ride home to our destination.Although the report was only $100 I feel like I got ripped off as it obviously doesn't reflect our actual issues and Irwin sent us on our way. I recognize it wasn't his fault he couldn't emulate what we were describing but I felt ignored when he said he couldn't feel what we were feeling and then it happened 10 minutes later. Also, my window was working prior to bringing it to these guys, now it's not. $500 later and it will be fixed. Thanks for the additional out of pocket expenses.

Very polite and attentive. Good customer service and did a good job on 2 of my cars. Also they don't try to upsell you anything. They give you recommendations and approximate timing before they repair is needed. Will definitely be recommending, and returning.

I brought it in to get an o2 sensor removed. Was told they didn't want to even try, and they said it would cost me 3k to remove the o2 sensor, and install a cat. Converter. I also has them look at my e brake, because it wasn't engaging. They didn't remove the o2 sensor, they didn't give me an actual diagnosis, they did charge me almost 200 dollars, just to tell me my o2 sensor that I already knew was bad was bad. I already knew the o2 sensor was bad. Why charge me 124.99 for hooking a scanner up to my car and telling me what I already knew from my own scanner? I got both cats, the o2 sensor removed, a new muffler and labor for 850. Totally dissatisfied I want the charge for the diagnostic back.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Wheel alignment

Irvin the owner is the worst. He kept my car in hawk for 7 days. Left me stranded in the middle of the night in Patterson. He wanted to charge me hundreds of dollars and I knew he was lying. I told him this. I am a woman and he thought I knew nothing about cars. I refused to let him work on the car. He told me he had already disassembled it. He was going to charge me some ridiculous amount to reassemble it. I told him that he had nothing in writing from me authorizing the disassembly. After a week of horrible stress and grief I gave in and paid him hundreds of dollars to get my car back. I took it to the dealership who confirmed that he was lying. Mercedes fixed it at half of what he was going to charge. I filed a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive affairs.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

Irwine is a very competent and thorough individual. I would not hesitate to recommend his shop for any automotive repairs. Very pleasant to work with. I was traveling to southern California from Oregon and broke down in Westley Ca. Found Erwin's shop via Google. Liked the reviews. Always concerned about being held hostage when out of my home town in this situation. It's great to find honest folks with integrity. Can't say enough good things about this business. Car broke down on HWY 5-N late at night just north of Patterson- apparently the belt decided to break & I rode a few extra miles before skidding off to the side of road - luckily no crash; tow truck was called by police that were nice enough to actually stop - car was dropped off around 2-3am and the shop began diagnosing the issue first thing/ they were up front, honest, highly detailed in finding other small issues in my car but not being pushy to make those repairs right away; we added a synthetic oil change, diagnostic test and the labor for the belt- all in all very excellent customer service, competitive pricing and actually making a horrible situation of breaking down overnight into a very pleasurable & professional experience! I would highly recommend this shop not only for people broke down but for everyday maintence and repairs. Not many like this left out there!Thanks to everyone at Mechanics Express in Patterson!

I am VERY impressed with this service! They get my highest rating! They accommodated me without an appointment in the afternoon of a really hot day. They did everything I asked for with no pressure for more. Friendly and polite owner as well as everyone else who works there. I live about 90 miles away and I was just in town visiting my parents. I m looking forward to having them take care of a few more issues on my next visit!

So last year (2018) i was on my way to Oregon from San Diego, it was 11 pm at night and i had just gotten north of Patterson when my transmission gave out. i had it towed to his shop on Saturday morning, he diagnosed and confirmed major transmission failure and he could order parts but wouldn't be there until Tuesday earliest, i had no car and needed to be in Oregon so he let me drive his personal vehicle with my husband to Modesto, California which is about a half hour away to get a rental vehicle to continue my journey. I got the rental and was on my way to Oregon to pick up a family member, he made sure to give me a call every day with an update on parts and since the truck was in his shop for a week he also did fluid and wire changes, upon returning to his shop that Friday, in which i was running super late, he stayed at his shop until 10 pm at night waiting for me to arrive, he said " I'm always here" but i still think 10 pm is very late. i get to the shop and we are finalizing everything, which was very fair priced and far better than anything within 100 miles at least, my card declines and says I've reached my limit, i'm kinda freaking out because at this point we just want to be back in San Diego. Irwine insist its fine and we could pay in the morning after a bank visit after waiting all night for us. We drop of the rental, go to the bank and Irwine was there waiting and greeted us, he also 100 percent ensured me i would have no car issues on my way home. i made the payment and went on my way, i feel bad that it has taken me so long to write this review but at the same time i'm glad because my truck is still running strong as ever with no slips and i'm thankful for his great and honest work. So if you ever are in need in this area and need help Irwine is your man, he instilled my trust that there is good people, he even took the time upon leaving to give me his reason, he said he was driving and same thing happened, he broke down in the middle of no where, with no tools, with one shop around. the guy lived near by and saw him and let him inside his shop and let him make his own repairs the next day free of charge he said his kindness was an inspiration to be as helpful as he could to anyone, ill admit i'm young and new traveler and this put a major damper on traveling for me but he really brought to life my love for traveling and ensured me their are good people who will help if i'm ever in trouble and don't know anyone around and for that i am thankful..Thank you Irwine. ill never forget what you did for the family

Irwing is very knowledgable when it comes to all types of cars. We have taken both of our cars to him and have received great service every time. We have always felt like his shop is up front and honest about what needs to be done and labor cost. I recommend his shop to everyone I know who needs to find a shop.

Broke down, over a 130 miles from home. With a bad water pump on our BMW 740.The tow truck driver took us to Mechanics Express. Wow what a quality shop. "Excellent service!" Erwin is always willing to help and answer questions. They did some great work on my Honda F4i, now i moved up to a Yamaha R1 and he's my first choice to work on my bike...Also did great work on my Lexus is300 & Chrysler Aspen as well... Thanks Guys...

Irving is the best mechanic that I ever known. He ordered my BMW part yesterday and fixed my car while I waited in the area. He saved me over $600 from the dealer and make sure my car worked in good condition. I will tell anybody and everybody always bring their card to him I totally trust him he's worked on three of my cars and my sisters car now.

My first review of any kind. My car started running really rough on my way from LA to SF. I was still 90 minutes out from SF and worried whatever was wrong would damage the engine. Found these guys on Google and drive 20 minutes in the opposite direction. The found the problem in five minutes and fixed is. A loose distributor cap. They did not want to charge me anything despite my efforts to pay. Could have damaged my engine if I continued on without seeing them. Thanks again.

WOW, I never leave reviews, but I am compelled to do so. My car starting overheating going from a radiator issue going from South CA to North CA late Saturday afternoon. I was worried that I was going to be stuck until Monday. Erwin stayed after closed, diagnosed the problem, and didn't even charge me. I insisted he take some money to at least by his guys some beer and food. He really has so helpful and if I'm ever in that area again need something, I'm going straight to his shop.
