These people took care of me when I needed it the most. I was traveling south to my hometown but about 15 minutes out of patterson my cars starter gave out. I got into contact with my older brother to have a tow truck arranged to deliver my vehicle to an auto shop and I was extremely fortunate that he selected five star automotive. Jaime did the most to get me back on the road and I will be forever grateful for the grace he offered and lengths he went to see me on my way. Best experience. They were able to diagnose and repair all issues quickly on our Buick. Car had been at a different shop (which we had been using for years, only to have their service to become shoddy in the last few months) for 2 months without being able to be diagnosed, was told nothing was wrong. 5 Star Auto is the only place our cars will be going to from now on! I scheduled smog for my car which I do there to any of our vehicles because they are great! Service has always been excellent even when we need general work or repairs. Staff is always friendly and respectful. Sometimes we forget to call ahead and an walk in and if there is a gap in appointments I can leave our cars there and they will call when ready.Service: General repairs & maintenance

I have done smog checks on all of my vehicles over the years with Five Star Automotive. This week, I came in without an appointment. Jamie was friendly, courteous and got me in and out quickly. It is always a pleasure doing business here!

I brought my car into Five Star with the engine light on & multiple problems. Michelle in the office was awesome & was able to get my car in on short notice & gave me very a detailed assessment of my car's issues & necessary repairs. Even when they came up against some unexpected problems during the repairs, they were able to get me back on the road quickly. I expected that considering the extra issues they ran into that it would end up costing more than I was originally quoted, but it didn't. My car is running great & I love not having that engine light glaring at me. Thanks so much!

I have gone twice now and both times were a amazing experience. With having a 1991 Chevy K5 I always seem to be wanting to upgrade or replace something on it. Well I needed replace my radiator and shroud and was finding it to be a headache I didn't want to deal with so I decided to take it here and wasn't disappointed. After that I decided to go back after my a/c system stop blowing cold. they got my old truck blowing alaska winter cold. Trust me if you need a good honest and skilled mechanic this is the place.Service: A/C installation & repair

This place was a very quick in and out for a smog check on a weekday afternoon. They were busy but everything was moving along very quickly with service. There is definitely a local feel to this place. The waiting room has comfortable seating and a vending machine available.

Best mechanic I ever encountered. So when I move to Fresno, I plan to return overnight if necessary to get the car serviced and repaired. They know their craft and are honest and reasonably priced. When you find a mechanic this good, keep them as long as you can. Old-school customer service.

Very good service here, know what they are doing and are reasonably priced. Never feel like I'm getting ripped off especially as a woman it can be hard to find a good mechanic who doesn't take advantage of the fact that you know nothing about cars or prices etc. My mother has been coming here for years and she loves it too!

I have been a customer for more than a decade. (By the way, it says muffler shop, but it is a complete automotive repair shop) They have always been completely up front about what should be done now and what can wait. I have no problem recommending them for anyone looking for a good, honest mechanic.

Real good mechanics. A little pricy but they will work with you on future visits. Its The only place that was able to put my 1980 Datsun 280zx back together after sitting for two years.. I took it out of the shop and went to San Diego IMMEDIATELY. No problems at all. Thank you all at Five Star.

I was very pleased with the service I received at five star automotive. Not only did Billie (receptionist) offer to drive me home and pick me up, they also showed urgency to fix my AC... which is extremely important to me because I am 8 months pregnant. I will continue to recommend Five Star Automotive to friends and family!

Five Star Automotive certainly deserves 5 stars as they went above and beyond helping my husband out. He had car trouble near the shop enroute from the Bay Area to Fresno. Not only did they stay open (he arrived near closing time), they arranged and took him to a car rental place and had the car fixed within 24 hours. Thank you!

My 18 year old son and his friend were on a road trip from Oregon to California and had car trouble in Patterson. I called Five Star and explained to Michelle what was happening. They took care of the problem and had them back on the road in a very short period of time. Thankful for the EXCEPTIONAL customer service!

As a person that does most of his own work on his vehicles, I am very particular about who I let work on my autos. There is only one place I have trusted to do the work that I can't over the last several years and that is FIVESTAR. Twice in the last year, there has been a need for warranty work. Both times, Jamie took care of the issues as promised. The last work that they performed, they did for LESS than the estimate, so that saved us from what we thought it would cost. Without reservation I recommend Five Star to all my friends and now to you. Ken Hasekamp, very satisfied customer!

Poor job, it took 2 weeks to get the car "fixed" one thing after another. The beginning price range was around 500-800 then ended il being 2600. We ended up picking it up a week after it was done and while we're paying they say theres a water leak still. I had them fix the idling sound my car was making and they didn't fix it, had them fix my air vents cause no air was blowing and still only one vent works also no AC. Poor job overall. Yeah car will get me to work, but won't get me to work on a consistent basis.

You know where we are right now? Utah! You know why? Because Five Star Automotive got us here! They got us here for Christmas; and they did so on Christmas Eve! Five Star was our north star, our guiding star, our beacon of light that got us to where we needed to be! It began with a trip of good intentions. My brother and I set off for Utah from Northern California, with the hope of seeing my grandfather on his first Christmas without his beloved wife of sixty years. That hope quickly dwindled when only two hours into our journey; our car lost all its coolant. Upon popping the hood, we saw the reservoir was empty and coolant had exploded across the hood of the car. We were sure it was the radiator-- some insanely expensive repair that we could not afford, nor that would get done in time for this extremely this important holiday.Our hearts sank, as we pondered the reality we were now facing. I looked on my phone for repair shops that catered to German- made vehicles. We were shocked to see that only ten minutes from where we stood, was a shop that could help us. I called the attached number, expecting to hear an automated message stating that they were closed for Christmas Eve-- just like everyone else in the country. To my surprise, the sweet voice of Billy came on the phone. I elatedly greeted her and explained our situation. She sympathetically listened and quickly reassured us that not only could they see us immediately; but they could probably look at the car for no cost! We nursed the fiery engine across the nine miles to the shop. When we arrived, we got another warm greeting from Billy, and met another couple of people who were having similar problems as we were. We shared our stories and consoled one another-- wishing each group the best of luck on continuing their journeys.We checked in and explained our situation in more detail, making sure all paperwork was filled out, and consent forms were consented. In just a few moments, their repairman, Jeremy was looking at our car. We sat and waited with every worst case scenario dancing through our exhausted brains. Thirty minutes later, Jeremy returned, voice confident and calm There s a few leaks in some tubes. I have all the parts so it won t take long. Pretty simple. My brother and I melted into our chairs; every muscle relaxed as we realized maybe all wasn t lost. We began to laugh, and Billy laughed and even stoic Jeremy even let out a chuckle. The thank you s began pouring from our mouths and they didn t stop until we left.Within the next hour and a half, our car was repaired, our specialized coolant was delivered by hand from a nearby shop and we were quoted an extremely reasonable price. I felt guilty as we drove away, not having anything to leave in gratitude for Five Star s kindness. Not only being Christmas eve but Billy and Jeremy and the rest of the Five Star group being so kind and attentive it didn t seem right leaving them empty handed. I plan, on my way back to bring them something, anything to show our appreciation. We are so thankful for their help, especially this year; which has been harder than most. I recommend to anyone in the area or who is just passing through, if you have car trouble or need a tune up, or even just want a friendly smile and warm conversation, go to Five Star. We were about 80 miles from home at the start of a multistate vacation and found a serious engine oil leak when we stopped for gas along I-5. It was hard to see the exact source point of the oil, and we needed a good professional opinion about whether the leak might be easily fixed or was instead likely to be a more complex matter. I did a local web search and called the folks at Five Star who directed us to come right over. They had it on the hoist in under 10 minutes and within another 10 confirmed that it would take substantial disassembly to pinpoint the source (from around the timing belt cover). That was enough information for us to make an informed decision and head back home rather than trying for a local repair or trying to limp along adding oil without an informative diagnosis to tell us how risky that would be. So we are home again and the engine is currently being replaced by our mechanic, under warranty. Thanks so much to Five Star for such quick and empathetic service helping us to make a wise choice and asking for nothing in return.

Fixed my truck multiple times. Good honest workers who won't give you the run around or charge you for something you don't need. Reliable and trustworthy definitely worth the wait to visit.

This place is a rip off. I went there to take my car cause it over heated and they told me that they could not check it until tomorrow if I left my car there.And I told them if it would be safe and they said yes that they keep all the cars in the garage and they left my car outside and someone broke into my car and stole my 200 radio and they did pay me for my radio.People don't go there.

people came on here and give it 5 stars ha! must be family and friends! listen people if u live in patterson dont go there and get rip off they overcharged!!! $141 just for a diagnostic which take less then 1 hour to get it finished they are frauds!! I got ripped off! there's place around patterson like guerro auto repair only charge $70 for diagnostic, on top of that everything they do there is overcharged!! period!! take my advice dont go there!! they will clean out ur wallet! now I dont like coming on here writing reviews but for this place I will cuz ppl dont deserve to get rip off by them!
