I have trusted J and G Auto for years. They are thorough, honest and give customers a clear understanding of the work needed. My 2006 Toyota is still in top shape due to Jack's wisdom.

Dishonest business practice. They will quote a price on the phone and then upcharge you after the work is done. They ve done this to me twice. Plus, their quotes are twice as high as other shops. I went here because it s convenient but have been driving a little further to north Pasadena or Alhambra. I didn t give them one star because I ve had a good experience with Troy, but the past few times, I ve dealt with his dad who is rude and dismissive and the one who has screwed me over.

Hello reader,I want to first off thank the wonderful service provided by the professional staff working here. They really made my situation much easier on me because it could have made me use vacation time in order to get this worked out.The situation was this, it was raining and I drove through this puddle of water. I heard a loud noise and found myself seeing some light symbols of brake and other symbols pop up. I couldn't steer so, I drove back home. Thankfully nobody was out at 4am.Later on that day I had my vehicle towed to this amazing shop where they diagnosed my vehicle had broken its pulley. I knew this to be true since I've heard sounds from the area of the damaged part and they informed me of the damage and cost, which was very reasonable for the repair.They were able to repair my vehicle within the end of the day and I am very pleased with the work they completed on my vehicle. I will surely come back to this location for my other repairs.In conclusion,If your down in a pickle in the Pasadena area and looking for great service with wonderful people who will do what they are best at. Give J&G Auto a chance and see your beloved vehicle get the best care it deserves!

I brought my wife's Mazda MPV into the shop because it had the check engine light on, and I wanted to make sure the minivan was in shape for long distance road trips. Troy took care of things perfectly. Despite the Mazda dealer bungling the delivery of a part that was needed to complete the repair, Troy kept me in the loop throughout and his rates were very reasonable. Highly recommended!

We worked with Troy, who was fast, professional and thorough in diagnosing the issue with our car. He quoted a good price, and provided us a close up look at the issue and lots of info, which not all mechanics do. We will definitely be bringing our other cars here for future issues!

Troy is an excellent person and an honest mechanic. Very knowledgeable and has reasonable and fair prices. If there's service you need that he can't fix at his shop, he knows exactly where to point you to get your issue fixed.I'm part of a long line of word-of-mouth new customers, so I hope this review continues the line!

It's such good experience with Jack at J&G. I had oil change and need it to replace timing belt and other parts. They are efficient and good on the fix. I'll for sure go back for any other services.

Really nice shop, did a great and quick job aligning our tires and also a tire pressure sensor repair. Friendly owners and employees, very clean.

These guys are incredible. Seriously, I took it once a while ago and I felt in good hands, so I have visited every time I needed some work on my car, oil change, smog test, etc ... And I leave in SouthPas. They are really excellent, totally fair and very good price. I just leave my car and I know it's going to be perfectly well taken care. No more charges, speedy service, polite and educated. More than 40 years on the business ... In summary, Troy and Jack (the father) are simply great! They rock! Period!

Oh no no no.. wanted to charge me twice the price that Affordable Honda in Hollywood was able to do it for. Very dismissive of me and hung the phone up on my son twice when he called to try to find out about why was the price so high. Then he pressured me to get back to pickup my car before 5:30 (it was already 5pm) when i told him not to fix it because of the price being too high and had to get a lyft cuz he said if I didn't make it back by the time he closed, I would have to come back the next day. I told him he was being unreasonable because I had to wait for the lyft driver and then he said he's waiting maybe 5-10 minutes .. I got there at 5:26pm to get my car, he closes at 5:30pm

Jack is very honest and tries to do what's best for his customers. He did a big repair for me, and laid out all of the parts so he could show me exactly what was wrong. He charges a fair price for his work and I would go back anytime.

I've been coming to J&G Auto big thanks and great appreciate to Jack ,Troy, and Robert for the been taking care of for my smog check test, wheel alignment, tire replacement, regular maintenance (oil change,breaks) and ok no top of that muffler repair and will even provide protection options for anybody that's had there catalysti stolen, and in need for repair go to J&G Auto in pasadena on the north west corner of walnut and wilson

Upon a recommendation from a friend as I felt a quote I received from another place was way too much but also a wrong diagnosis.And I was right on both counts.They not only fixed my problem, even gave me a great deal!I cannot say enough about these guys. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone that needs work done.Thanks Again Alex!

These guys do not know their job. Even if they do, they do not have proper diagnosis tools. Therefore they either stick to old school tools or other experimental try and error approaches!After spending $1500 on changing my catalytic converter due to their recommendation, I was still left with check engine being on and the car not having enough torque. I had communicated both issues with them before changing the cat. When I complained, they said this is out of their specialty and they don't have tools to diagnose it! Interesting enough, Troy, the guy who worked on my car, was telling me that I should have sold the car because in his opinion, my car had issues and he could not find it out! While I found this ironic for a car mechanics, my car was yet newer than most of the other cars they were working on! Another thing is that they even did smog test on my car before changing the cat and it passed. And yet they favored the easy route for them and most expensive solution for me, which did not work out. So after spending so much time and money, I ended up taking my car to the dealer.

I went there for wheel alignment and received a great service with a reasonable price. I forgot the name of the mechanic but I liked that he patiently explained the process and problems and answered all my questions. Brought my car in with what I thought was a minor repair before a trip. It turned out to be worse than I thought. These guys managed to fit me in, stayed late and got my car roadworthy by the next day. Excellent work and customer service! Open Saturdays which is great. Been coming here for ten years and I've had multiple makes and models serviced here. Great shop, reasonable prices, and excellent, honest work. Really nice, friendly, neighborhood guys! I often see them around town and never fail to say hello.

Troy, Robert & Alex, what a fantastic team!! Had a problem with my brakes, they test drove it, took a look. Showed me the problem, told me what I needed to do, now me being a car guy n not a local from then area, they hooked me up!! THANK YOU TROY!!! U guys are the best!!
