Understandably, I can relate to the many 5 star reviews regarding Foothill Smog Auto Repair. Like many car owners, I've had my car serviced by a few other shops over the years. However, no other shop can compare to this shops ownership care and expert knowledge. Not only do I have our family cars smog certified, but all general maintenance and periodic stuff that happens because of o ur long commutes.Service: General repairs & maintenance

You can trust Avo, he is knowledgeable, smart, and years of experience shows when he works on your car. Honesty and integrity tied to any job he takes. Prices are reasonable for a quality work that he does. We trust him all of our cars.

I ve been going to Foothill Smog and Repair for many years and really like going here. Avo, the owner, does great work and it s always a pleasure to deal with him. He is completely transparent and fair in his pricing of service to be done and makes the process of having my car serviced or fixed stress less. His office and garage reflect the care that he gives to his work. They are immaculate and perfectly organized.Julia W.

Avo is the owner of Foothill Smog and he is great! He has been servicing my family's cars for years. He provides exceptional service at a competitive price. Often he has found things wrong with my vehicles that were covered under warranty and pointed me back to the dealer (Mercedes and Lexus) which saved me thousands of dollars (and cost him money). He runs an honest repair shop and I trust him completely.

Some friends referred me to Foothill Smog & Auto and I am Super Happy with the service I received! Avo did an amazing job with the battery cable situation on my '98 4Runner. The work was completed quickly and the repair is top notch!

Been using Avo s services for smog certification for 9 years and can happily recommend his shop to anyone. It s nice to have someone pleasant and professional make you feel welcome and well taken care of. Always times time to be personable.

Avo is for sure the life-saver of my Mini Cooper, after a year of pandemic lockdown across the street: I stored my vehicle during the pandemic and when I finally returned, the car's battery was already dead; I had the luck finding Avo just three minutes from my parking garage, I did not have my usual luck with AAA that day, they sent two trucks and could not move my car to Avo's garage due to issues they couldn't diagnose properly. Avo gave me a referral to a local guy he works with instead, and his local guy "finally" moved my car to his shop the next day, Avo took care of the rest from there. He gave me a safe car to drive after two days. I won't give my car mechanic dollars to anyone else in this town now. Avo is the best!Services: General repairs & maintenance, Battery

Foothill Smog & Auto Repair is a great shop in Pasadena. Avo runs a stand-up place. He will tell you an honest opinion about your car and won't charge you for erroneous parts. His hourly rates are a little high, but affordable and a good value for what you're getting. I'll be coming back for any future needs. Highly recommend.

I have been to this shop for smog checks for many years and recently started having my auto repaired and routine maintenance done. Work has been done in a timely manner. Once again, my experience with Avo at Foothill Smog was top-rate. During a regular service visit, he was thorough enough to notice a deep slash in one tire, which he urged me to take care of immediately. The tire place we use was nearby, so I drove right there to have them take a look; they agreed it was dangerous and replaced it.Thank you, Avo, for sparing me from a blowout on the freeway! And for all your good care over the years.

I can't say enough good things about the repairs I recently had completed at this business. I needed a new driver's side mirror, window control panel and windshield washer pump. Avo checked everything out to see exactly what was needed and then ordered the parts for me. Because of a recent family emergency, I was unable to leave my car. Avo was very understanding and really worked with me to accommodate my needs. All repairs were completed in a short amount of time. I am more than satisfied with the work done on my car and the level of professionalism. Foothill Smog and Auto Repair will be my go-to business from now on.

All around great service. This was my first smog check since moving to CA and I went here because he was the nicest on the phone. Everyone in the shop was friendly, courteous and helpful. I would go here again and recommend it to a friend.They are by appointment only though so make sure you plan ahead. I cut it close but they still helped me out.Update: It's been a couple years since I wrote the above review and I just wanted to update this because Avo and the team are great. I've taken both of our vehicles here a few times and they do not fail to be helpful, friendly, honest (a big deal with anything car related) and punctual (another big with anything Los Angeles related).

I ve taken my car to Foothill Smog and Auto for over 6 years.Avo and his staff have consistently delivered top notch service. They always give accurate diagnosis of problems and complete the work when promised. I ve sent friends there and they all were tremendously satisfied as well.I ll continue to take my auto work to Foothill Smog and Auto!

Not only do Avo and his team do a great job, they are incredibly honest and considerate. For an annual check, they don't fabricate problems, so that if little or nothing is wrong, you walk away having paid a shockingly small amount. What an enormous contrast with the dealer I used to go to. For larger repairs, they keep you continuously informed of what's going on until the car can be picked up. They strive to keep the shop a friendly and professional place.

I have been taking my Subaru Outback to Avo for years because he takes care of it as though its one of his own cars. I always appreciate the high quality of work he provides and highly recommend him to anyone.

If I could sum up my experience with Foothill Smog & Auto Repair, it would be . . . AWESOME! I'd tried a few other auto repair places within the local area and, although some were a bit better than others, I wasn't totally satisfied. So, based on the reviews I'd read about them, I decided to give them a try and I could not be happier with the results!Avo took the time to explain the issues and options prior to doing anything and to answer any questions that I had. I never felt he was trying to pull a fast one on me or to get me to agree to have work done on my car that really didn't need to be done by using "scare" tactics.Thank you both, Avo and Mariam, for your honesty, courtesy, professionalism, and integrity!

This is a long over due review! I moved to Pasadena over a decade ago and we ve been going to Foothill Smog & Auto Repair ever since. We drive high mileage cars. We'd like them to run forever and Foothill Smog & Auto Repair helps us makes that happen.No one likes going to the mechanic, and as a women it can be especially hard. I ve had mechanics talk down to me, overcharge, and mislead me. I feel so extremely lucky to have found Avo and the team and Foothill Smog & Auto. Here are the top reasons I am always delighted to recommend my mechanic 1. Honesty & Integrity The BEST quality to have in a mechanic. I trust Avo 100%2. Highly Competent, high quality work I never have to take my car back after a job by Avo. What he fixes, stays fixed.3. Reliability - I can always count on reliable communication and reliable work4. Availability - When I ve had an emergency, they ve been there for me. I ve rolled in at a moment s notice when warning lights have popped up in my car.5. Avo is the best, hands down. Knowledgeable and completely transparent about the work that is done, he is always a pleasure to do business with. There are few things as valuable as a good, honest mechanic. I wouldn't take my car anywhere else.

This review is long overdue. Avo has been taking care of my car for years. He has always done whatever is needed quickly and efficiently. I trust him completely and can't imagine going anywhere else for repairs.

I've been bringing my cars here for years. I trust AVO. He does excellent work. Excellent service and trouble shooting. I especially appreciate Avo's attention to the extra precautions he took for cleaning/sanitizing and social distance due to COVID-19.

Avo is always so helpful and quick. I brought my car in for an inspection because I was trying to decide to repair or replace. Avo was thorough and helped me decide what was best for my vehicle. Foothill Smog and Auto Repair is very reliable.

Avo is always very straightforward and helpful, explaining the process and options clearly. I have been to Foothill Smog for things as simple as a smog check or oil change as well as more complicated engine repairs, and I have always been satisfied with the service. They have always been very accommodating in scheduling as well.

Avo and his wife run a great shop! I did a smog check two years ago (2014). I needed an other smog check for this year (2016) and decided to add on an oil change and a multi-point check. All requested service went well and the multi-point check was thorough and very informative. I am more than satisfied with the service and highly recommend Foothill Smog. I will be taking my truck back for future maintenance/repairs. Check out their website for any web deals that may be happening.

This was my first visit to Foothill smog and auto repair (for a smog check). my first impression this is a really nicely maintained shop and the owner is meticulous. upon meeting Avo, and getting me checked in he was very friendly and competent. I was amazed my smog check was completed in less than half hour. i certainly will be bringing my car here for regular service and i expect the same attention to detail with my car as the staff pays to their establishment and to my smog check. Great job Foothill Smog!!

Avo and his crew continue to be the best possible people to take care of your car,truck or SUV. It would be next to impossible to find a more honest, knowledgeable, clean and friendly place to take care of your mechanical needs.I'm very happy to wish them all a happy fifteenth anniversary in the area and count myself lucky that someone was kind enough to steer me to Avo years ago.

I've been using Avo for my car maintenance since 2005 - 14 years and a number of different cars. Once my cars are out of warranty, they go to Avo. The important things are that he is competent, honest, takes care of the problems at hand and always looks for things that can be a problem in the future. I trust him and am confident he'll get the job done correctly. My wife's car is an old Saab (2003) and hard to find parts for. Avo always seems to find the parts, take care of the problems and keep my wife happy!. Highly recommend taking your car to Avo.
