Total transmission replacement, loved the constant contact throughout the process. Everyone was friendly and they got the job done. Best part one year warranty so they stand by their work. I also had a leak and the repaired that as well. I paid about 10,100, but land Rover wanted 15, without the leak included. Thank you Thomas and your team!

I own a hybrid and my car broke down on the road. I took it to a local dealer, (I won't mention any names), and they were trying to gouge me. I spoke with Thomas at AAMCO and he was very friendly, communicative, and honest. He didn't charge me to do an initial assessment on my car because he knew the dealer had already charged me. Although he wasn't able to do the repairs on my car, he was able to give me an accurate assessment of my car and point me in the right direction. He gave me constant updates through out the process and he was very transparent. Great customer service!

If you are reading this, I recommend you go somewhere else. To start, they seemed friendly enough. We took out car there, knowing that it was a transmission issue we had dealt with years earlier. It started with a free diagnostic, that turned into 360.00 and when i asked about what was included in that price the manager Sadu, began to argue with me telling how had hard working mechanics who needed to be paid and I told him that wasn't in question i just wanted to know that the 360 would cover he finally understood what i was asking calmed down and told me it was for a in-depth diagnostic. Two days later, that price turned into 1400.00 for them to take the transmission out (again still not actually knowing what needed to be fixed or what the final total would be). After that was done another day later. I called in the morning, and he said he'd call back and didn't, I called again in the afternoon, and then he told me it would be 6450.00 to fix the transmission. (The car is a 2013 Nissan versa sv it is not even worth half that total anymore) when asked why it was so much and why it was triple what it had cost a couple years earlier to fix he said it the pandemic problem and that's just what it cost. We told him no on the final price that it was outrageous that we were better off just getting a whole new car and cutting our losses. That was a Friday, and he said he would have the car ready for pick up by Monday evening. I asked it I could be any sooner, and he said we'll try. I didn't here from him again until Tuesday saying the car was ready and that the bill was 1495.00 I told him we'd be there as soon as we were able because we didn't have the money just yet (because we had to buy a whole new car) he said fine. Then Thursday he called me leaving a message full of attitude saying how we needed to come get our car that we where wasting his space and if we were just planning on abandoning it because people do that all the time when they can't pay his prices he owed him the pink slip so he could sell it properly. I texted him back that he is offensive to even dare to think that we now would just be giving him our car, and I had told him that we would be in to get the car friday. Reminded him he said the car would be ready on monday and i didn't hear from him until mid day tuesday. He responded by saying that if we didn't get the car after Friday, he would charge 50 dollars a day until we came and got it. And like i told him, were there Friday morning at 845am, and I paid our bill in full (which, frankly, I don't think he even deserved).I think this place is a scam, and from what I've read from other reviews, we should have never gone there in the first place. That was my mistake. I find the owner nice until you ask a question, and then he gets defensive and argumentative and rude. I didn't expect it to be free. I understand transmissons aren't cheap, I did howwver expect it to be reasonable. And from what I have been told by other car mechanics, they were overcharging me. Go anywhere else.

Quick summary: call another AAMCO location for better service, price, employee knowledge.I called & asked about 2018 Toyota 6-speed transmission fluid change and its price. Many Toyota 6-speed has a bizarre way of checking the correct fluid level after refill so I decide to test the person's knowledge about the process because I don't want a repair shop messed up my car.The person seems absolutely clueless about this common process and asks me "what's your question" as if he is surprised customer being smarter than himself. Hope this is an isolated incident so please be aware before spending $350 for this service unless employees know what they are doing.I end up calling Covina AAMCO and the employee knows exactly the process and what fluid (Toyota WS) to use and better price too.

Please don't trust this place. Run, run, run. I am currently over $4000.00 Dollar in debt thanks to this establishment. They promised to fix my car for $1495. The owner came off as if he was the most trusted person in the world and when I called to check on my car, I was told he was out of town for a week but he had promised to call me in four days prior to my call. I never heard from him.They took out my transmission out and decided that it would or could cost me up to over $7000 after being quoted $1495. I ended up having to get the car without it being fixed and now I'm paying off a loan that I never used!!! The interest on the loan is 55%. The loan company that I used was recommended by this sweetheart of an owner. They even suggested charging me without fixing the car. Where is the law when you need them?

Took my vehicle to the Pasadena aamce to have the transmission check due to it not shifting properly. They checked the vehicle and started the transmission was working, speed sensors and everything else was working fine. They said the computer in my vehicle was going bad. Had it checked by another transmission place and was informed my transmission is going out. Do not trust these people at this AAMCO shop they do not know what they are doing .

This is our second time taking our vehicle to this AAMCO to have our transmission rebuilt and it's pleasant, as it was the first time we brought the car. Sadu and Ben took care of my car, but most importantly, they treated me as a customer with total care that other AAMCO shops did not exhibit, and that's why we come back to Pasadena, and will definitely let others know as well.Service: Transmission

DO NOT COME HERE!! Paid over $5k to rebuild transmission on our Toyota. Took 2 full weeks to rebuild the first time. Owner Sadu always promised to call and update but never did. Took them 2 full days just to tell us that they needed to drop the transmission to diagnose it. Then another 3 just to tell us they needed to rebuild it.Only lasted for 5 1/2 weeks before we had issues again. It s been a revolving door the past 9 weeks of burned fluids, leaking fluid, broken seals, latest is they had to rebuild it for the 3rd time. They ve had our car for 3 weeks all our visits total to 30 business days and they still can t get us an estimate on when it will be done. Once I sat on the curb for 4 hours with my 2 young children while they fixed a leaky seal, they didn t even offer for me to come have a seat inside. Wanted to give me a ride home but I didn t want to be without a car for another 3 days again. I missed a wedding they kept telling me it would be done on a certain day so I showed up at that time and the mechanic walked over and said it wasn t ready. That was 2 weeks ago. I have had to spend hundreds of dollars on flights because we had plans to go out of state before all this happened. Refusing to give us a refund, will most likely have to pay for another shop to fix it because they are completely incompetent.

Oh My God they were such a saving grace. My heroes! I am originally from big bear and when I got to Pasadena my car started having acceleration issues. Sadu and Ben were incredible. They checked what they could in a timely manner to make sure it was still safe for me to drive. They worked with me on all of my requests and questions. Sadu was really awesome and test drove it a few times while Ben explained to me how it worked and what some possible issues could be. It s very obvious in the best way that they know what they re doing and are good people. I Am so grateful that they were the place I was recommended to. God bless these amazing people. The owner contacted me just now to see how my car was running. I was quoted $180 to get inside the transmission, but ultimately just ended up with the fluid being changed and Sadu only charged me $90. I have never had a mechanic/garage call me after a week to ask how the car is running. Great follow-up and customer service, simply amazing to get that call just now. Worst place to go for repair. All they had to do was repair my transmission. They said it will take about a week. It became a month. And nothing was done. I had patience with them. And was polite to them. As soon as i complained they didn't even wanted me in the office. But then they wouldn't take my calls. And i went to pick up my car and they still wanted to charge me for something they never did. Actually my car is worse. Thanks to them. No communication from them. Really bad service. Hopefully other people had better luck.
