The waiting area smelled like smoke and was covered in dog hair. Front desk staff was a little too comfortable, grabbing ham from the fridge behind them and eating it and feeding it to two big (albeit friendly) dogs who were also behind the front desk. Giving 2 stars bc the smog was affordable and quick. Otherwise it felt like I was getting secondhand smoke just from sitting at the waiting area

Come here every two years. Was pretty busy today but they're always very friendly and accommodating. Plus it's always nice to put money back into the town of Paradise. Picture is the real boss of the shop

I spent $2300 at a mechanic to get my car to pass smog had it completely repaired and no problems. Drove to smog busters a week after the repairs! They put a computer on it and said it was good to go! I waited an hour for the smog technician who was late. Then they came to me and said the check engine light was on! What are the odds that I had this happen after I had it completely overhauled and repaired! Seems a little fishy to me! Be careful going here!!!Service: Auto engine diagnostic

We have lost most of our smog check business and this one is super busy all the time. No appointments, first come first serve and I believe just one mechanic. Not ideal. No parking to speak of and no clean place to wait. Can t say anything about their work, never went back after my first visit!

Very friendly, helpful and kind. They replaced the fuse on my van and refused to take more than a buck fifty. These are the kind of amazing people that made Paradise so wonderful. And this business is exactly the kind that will make Paradise what its name implies again. Smog was done without issues too. Love the large waiting room & the huge doggos. Thank you for everything.

I went today to get a smog check, I was told it would be 20 minutes to complete the car ahead of me and 15-20 minutes to complete mine. An hour and 10 minutes goes by so I ask do you know how much longer it might be. Some lady behind the counter says things happen sometimes and they are having problems. So how much longer? She gets mouthy so I say I have been sitting right here was anyone going to tell me I have longer...she says Nope sorry. I left and do not suggest anyone using this business. I wasn't so much made about the wait but the attitude and no communication

Nobody does the happy dance when they get a notice from the DMV that their vehicle needs a Smog Check.I am new to the Paradise area and was referred by another local business.The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. They worked efficiently and in no time my service was completed.I will say that this is another very good business and I would return if the need arises.

I went to have my car smogged and had to wait 20-30 minutes for the smog tech to get back from lunch. The smog test itself took 15 minutes. I got there around 2:15 or so in the afternoon so I figured somebody would be there. Nope! The service itself was great, it was just the wait that sucked.

Very happy with how courteous and efficient the service was. I called early this morning and the man who answered was sweet and told me to come on by. I didn't spend more than 20 mins waiting and it was peaceful. Reasonably priced as well. Would recommend and would go again.

It was a neutral experience. The lady at the front desk is blunt & slightly condescending, but she's not rude - it's just her style. Warning: Know your EXACT mileage before entering. The 'waiting room'is a little, dusty antique shop. Took 25 minutes start to end.

Multiple bad experiences. I had the check engine light on for months. I spent $1200 getting the issue fixed. The very next day I went in because the problem was fixed. He thought my light was broken and was talking to me as tho I dont know anything about cars. I will never go there again and I dont suggest that anyone go there.

I'm in total agreement with the other 1-star reviews here -- I arrived with the engine light ON -- but instead of just telling me that means an automatic smog test fail, and giving me a chance to consider my options before the test, Smog Busters jumped right in, reported the failed test to the DMV, and charged me full price. I even tried to stop them when I discovered what was going on in the waiting room, but they refused. Then they tried to sell me an expensive diagnostic service to explore the problem. I felt ripped-off. I'll never, ever go back to this place. And what's with the consignment boutique that serves as their waiting area? Is this an auto repair business or a junk shop? Wake up and smell the power of social media, Smog Busters, all these negative reviews are going to KILL your business. If you're fair with people and inform them about their options, you'll be justly rewarded with positive reviews and referrals; if you try to rip them off, your reputation will be trashed and no one will work with you. Adios.

Fair pricing, efficient service. Used to have a neat consignment store and decent coffee and baked goods, but much smaller now. So the wait isn't as entertaining as it used to be.

It seems that the only people who are giving them a bad review are those who failed their smog test...ummm, that is not smog busters fault, take some responsibility! I always get the fastest service and the guys are so entertaining , I won't go anywhere else!! Thanks for the great service Brian!!

We had to return for our smog completion due to some recent motor work. We walked in at 1:48pm and said we needed a smog recheck. After the man grabs a clip board he turns back around and said sorry you are too late, we close at 2:00 today. Didn't look like anything else was going on.....

It is a shame that the hours posted for a smog shop are not followed for a smog check. Closes at 5:00 but will not take any smog checks after 4:30 . I guess with all the men standing around my mo ey was not worth their time.

Superb service. I drove from Chico just because of the service. In and smogged within 5 minutes. Highly recommended to anyone who needs a smog.

Honest place. Always get my smog here. They also have a thrift store to look around while you wait.
