The good: I was received quickly and completed the paperwork within a reasonable amount of time.The not so good:1. I had an appointment scheduled for 1:00pm. After completing the paperwork I was told that the car will be ready by 6:00pm! The service was for tire rotation, safety inspection and topping fluids. I was told that while the service was quick, there were a few cars ahead of me. My expectations were that if I m scheduled for a certain time, that service on it will start shortly after.2. The cost for the service mentioned above was $245. Seems excessively high for a job that realistically shouldn t take more than 30-45 minutes. If I were to add an oil change to the service, it would ve cost an extra $220! That s totally excessive IMO.3. Getting through to talk to customer service required multiple phone calls. Based on the cost of service, I expected customer service to be top tier.

I recently had an experience with sales at Magnussen's Toyota of Palo Alto that I feel compelled to share, in hopes of informing future customers and possibly urging the dealership to improve their practices.I was in the process of purchasing a vehicle, a significant decision made, money moved out of savings etc, even more critical by my upcoming international move. Communication started off well, but it took a disappointing turn when the dealership sold the car we were halfway through purchasing, opting for a better offer without informing us or considering our commitment.Despite attempts to communicate our concerns through email and text responses to which were either not received or ignored we were left without the vehicle we needed at a crucial time. Moreover, we were offered an alternative model (the XLE) which did not meet our needs, under circumstances that felt misleading.This experience has not only wasted our time but also added unnecessary stress to our already complex situation. Transparency, reliability, and customer care are aspects one hopes to find in such transactions, but unfortunately, that was not our experience.For those considering Magnussen's Toyota of Palo Alto for their next vehicle purchase, I urge you to proceed with caution. A dealership s service should extend beyond just making a sale, focusing also on customer satisfaction and trust, areas where our experience sadly fell short.

Disappointing Service Experience and Communication Gap at Toyota Car Dealership!I recently visited the Toyota car dealership for a scheduled service appointment, an experience that was regrettably inconvenient and disappointing. Despite encountering one positive interaction with a helpful woman at the end, the overall encounter left much to be desired.My appointment was confirmed for 8:30 am on a Saturday via their website. Upon arrival, I informed the associate that I'd be nearby and requested notification when the service on my car commenced. To my surprise, upon returning around 10:30 am, my car had not yet been started on. Despite the dealership's usual practice of completing services within two hours, I was informed that mine hadn't even been initiated and might be ready around 2 pm.Disheartened, I opted to leave and manage other tasks, intending to return before their listed closing time of 8 pm. Unexpectedly, around 3 pm, I received a text indicating that my car was ready for pickup. Curiously, there was no prior mention of the service closing earlier than the advertised time of 3 pm.When I arrived at the dealership at 5 pm, anticipating the retrieval of my car, I found the service area deserted. There was no team available to return my vehicle, leaving me stranded without access to my car despite it being ready for pickup.Thankfully, a lady at the front desk stepped in and took the initiative to assist me in contacting the manager. Her intervention proved to be the sole saving grace in an otherwise frustrating and unprofessional situation, ensuring I retrieved my car.To summarize, the service experience at the Toyota dealership fell significantly short of expectations. The lack of communication regarding service hours and the delayed commencement without prior notification added unnecessary stress and inconvenience to my planned day. The positive assistance from the lady at the desk was the sole bright spot in an otherwise disappointing service encounter.I hope this feedback will draw attention to areas requiring improvement in customer service and operational transparency, striving to prevent similar inconveniences for future customers.

Once I decided on a new car, I walked the lots at this dealership and two others. The RAV4 appealed to me, tho it seemed a stretch for my budget. Driving one I knew this will be my car for the next ten years. So rather than spending nickels and dimes on a six year old car, I broke into my piggy bank and traded up. I love my new Toyota hybrid!

First service for my highlander. Courteous and friendly service advisor & assistants, kept appraised of service via text. Service was completed early while I waited. Customer lounge was nice - I was able to work online.

We had a great experience with Divas Dahal when we bought our new Rav4 Hybrid XSE. He is very knowledgeable about all the Toyota models and he spent a lot of time with us answering questions and going on test drives. We never felt pressured by him to buy a car, but he sent helpful emails to us and responded promptly to any texts or emails from us. He took a lot of time showing us features and helping us set up the technology even after we had bought the car and before we drove away. He also told us to call back with any questions about the car. We are very happy with our purchase and would highly recommend Divas Dahal at Magnussen's to anyone looking to buy a Toyota.

Had an amazing experience with my Girlfriend over at magnussen s. Thanks to Angel rincon for being so friendly and listening to our inquires the whole process, and to raj as well for being professional and helping us the whole process with purchase!! Able to have my girlfriend get her dream car, and done with upmost service! An excellent time and experience here at magnussen s. Also big help for Jose at financial in helping with the contract and laying out all the terms! So happy for my girlfriends purchase

Wanted to try this service department so I scheduled an 8 am oil change for Saturday, When I arrived service writer was nice but then kindly said we do not offer any waiting appointments on Saturdays and my vehicle would be done by 6!! he went on to say they were short handed due to Black Friday and many Techs had called in sick but Monday through Wednesdays were the best times for waiting, so I said, well your appointment system gives the option to wait or drop off he just said well sorry..Well so am I! you deserve a bad review I and will never come back to this Dealership, thanks for wasting my morning.. Never again! The kicker was I received an email this morning saying they were sorry I missed my appointment lol...

Very bad experience with the most incompetent salesperson ive ever encountered. The very first thing he does is lie about the usage history. After I figured out it was a lie, I asked other very basic questions, like whats the gas mileage between corrola and camry and he told me the wrong thing. I ask him questions about differences between LE and XLE basically asking him to upsell me and he doesnt tell me any useful info. He was super rude in his responses, telling me my questions dont matter. I asked him to show me a few cars and then he complained that i made him walk 15 feet to go get the keys. At first i thought he was making a lame joke, then when i fake laughed and asked him again he disrespectfully said do you even know what you want? Like I m genuinely wondering if this guy was trying to get himself fired, i just walked away and said this isnt worth it. They lied to me, were utterly useless, and complete jerks while at it.Take your business elsewhere

Shockingly poor service for a 10k service appointment. I made an appointment ahead of time and dropped off my car in the morning. I was told only that it would be done by 5:30 pm. I went back at 3:30 thinking it wouldn't be too much longer and saw my car parked outside. I asked the service agent if it was ready, and he said no, but he would tell me when it was. I sat in the lobby for almost 2 hrs, then walked outside and saw my car in the same spot! I waited there until closing without anyone telling me my car was done! If you care about decent service and your time, don't come here.

I am a regular customer on this dealership service. But I am disappointed for the last 2 services. I went for service last Oct 16, 2023 because I smell gas exhaust inside cabin when I m driving the car. They did the diagnostic test and said they don t find anything wrong and can t smell it. I m fine even I paid the diagnostic test ($245) and also I did the regular maintenance for 15,000 miles, Multi point inspections .This last week of December there is an error message check engine and I went to have another diagnostic test for ($245) again.They found leak on the gas cap and replaced it.In my opinion, this problem should have been detected in the first diagnostic test so I don t have to go back and pay another one($245)Magnussen Toyota service claimed the problems are not related .

Wanted to like this place but after two months without parts for my car, inconsistent communication, and repeatedly contradicting their word, I m forced to think this Toyota dealership is uniquely bad. The pinnacle was being addressed as You Highlander? after two months of my car in the shop, not my name, no hello, just You Highlander? Additionally was not a fan of the Service manager blaming the government for a parts shortage rather than Toyota. Been a life long Toyota driver and every dealer in the country has been simply amazing Magnussen is the exception. Definitely worth driving to a different Toyota dealer!Edited: Tried calling the number in Magnussen s reply to my review and reached their standard number. They didn t bother to call back after I left a message with the receptionist.

I haven t encountered such poor customer service in a long time. The staff in the service area should learn some good manners. I had a 7 a.m. appointment, but as soon as I arrived, they pointed me to the line and told me to wait for half a day because they had many clients. It s just terrible service that leaves a negative impression. One star rating - is too much for them

If I could give less than one star, I would.Hello, I just went for a service appointment yesterday.First, nobody let me know that the car needed cabin filter, air filter, and windshield wipes replaced. It should be done before a pick up time. I had to find out when I picked the car and wait to have it fixed. When I got the car and was already halfway home I saw a plastic part on the passenger side floor. I texted the number provided by service advisor and got no response. They forgot to put some part of my car back in place. Will be going to a different dealership.

I would always get my auto work on my Toyota done here even though it's more pricey because I want the piece of mind that everything is official and covered by warranty.I got my tires replaced here a year and a half ago, and one of them burst yesterday. I get told that their system is down so they can't look up my warranty, and I should come back in 3 days when it's back up.I'm also told it will take 3-4 days after that to even verify my warranty and I'll have to leave my car there until they sort it out.How am I supposed to get to work without a car for a week? So much for peace of mind...I'm going to one of the dozens of other cheaper places to get my burst tire replaced out of pocket and doubt I'll ever be back here...

Had my sons car in for normal service and when I got it back and drove home now the low air in a tire light is on. It wasn t on before I took it in. I don t have time to take it back so I m very frustrated. My son heads back to school Sunday night so now I need to figure out what s going on with the tire.

The mechanist is not honest.I was there this week to do 10k miles maintain. It includes tire rotation in receipt. But after I got back home i noticed my tires were never rotated.

The days of fast talking pressuring car salesmen are over. The folks at Magnussens couldn't have made my experience any easier and low stress. Steven was super helpful, patient, and easy going.There wasn't a hint of pressure to buy the car that day; it was almost surprising. I went in highly caffeinated and armed with info and research but they easily answered all my questions, let me test drive the car a second time for good measure. They didn't bring up money or the buying process until I asked about it.And when it came down to all the awkward money talk and signing my life away, Jaun made it as comfortable as possible. He was super patient even when I had a bank issue , and took his time explaining everything to me.Even though they were closed, Steve and Juan stayed late so I could take the car home. They really went above and beyond.So goodbye sleezy car salesman. Raises for everyone! Very satisfied customer
