I m very tired of their long term process to repair my car through insurance. At the beginning, they said the part to buy need to take several weeks(2-4). Actually, it took 4 months for the car parts to arrive. I know my car is old; however, the store lied about the timeline to repair. I could choose to have the insurance company to reimburse me the money instead of repair if I know the long time to wait. Please be true to clients. If your car is old, be careful of what they say about the timeline. Or you ll got my angry feelings too and annoyed by the car rental policy from the car insurance company.

This business is amazing! When your car needs work it can be the most stressful thing. Nelson was able to help me feel I ease. I knew he was taking great care of my car and he communicated thoroughly and often! He has great energy, not to mention the rest of the staff who are all very kind and helpful! Not only that but the day that I dropped off my car multiple people asked to make sure that I was getting a ride home They very much go the extra mile and my car looked better than new!Service: Body & Trim

I don t agree that this place should have a 4 star rating. My car has been there for one month to fix the bumper. I called to ask when I d be getting my car back, but no one picked up my call. I had to go to the shop in person to see what was going on and why they were taking so long to fix my bumper. Overall bad experience they take too long with cars and do not recommend if you need your car fixed asap.

I am very pleased with the work done recently at Akins Body Shop on Park in Palo Alto. They're in the Farmers Insurance network of body shops. I worked with Robert, whose attention to detail was superb. He stayed on top of the project, keeping me update throughout the process. And he explained the steps that would be taken, including making sure OEM parts would be used, before the work even began. I was impressed with not only the work, but how quickly it was done, which was right on schedule. Can't thank he and Akins enough for making the process such a stress-free experience.Service: Body & Trim

I got scratches on the passenger side, and my insurance company AAA referred me here. The whole process is very smooth and pleasant and efficient - very short wait, got my quote very fast, job was done fast etc. Nelson was my advisor - try to get him, he is great, works super hard, stayed past the store s closing time to wait for me to pick up my car. While waiting for the job to get done there is text messages and phone calls that keep me updated on the process, and they are actually ahead of schedule - delivered the car back to me one day early.

Avoid this shop and find another AAA-preferred dealer. They take way more cars than they can handle and it reflects on the quality of their work. The repairs took twice as long as the estimated time. The staff is friendly, but communication is lacking. The total price was more than doubled without informing me and all that extra work was done without informing me. Sure, the insurance is paying, but it would be nice to know more work is being done before it's done, not after the fact.Once the work was done, the paint job was good, but several exterior and interior parts were missing. Moreover, the interior of the car was dirty with clumps of some adhesive or sealant. I cleaned it off with a few wet paper towels, but it left me disappointed. They do terrible quality assurance checks. I have to assume they hope that customers don't notice. Frankly, this is not a place where you want to leave your car. There's better shops out there that care about the details.Pros:- Good paint job- Friendly staffCons:- Expect repairs to take double the amount of time they tell you- Expect little communication during repairs- Expect some missing parts after repairs: a nut, a bolt, plastic caps, rubber liners, etc. (stuff that most people don't even notice is missing on first glance, because hey, if you might not notice, why should they?)

This place was very disappointing from the beginning. I waited at the front with no waiting to be excused because it was no one in front of me. I walked in on a conversation complaining about a customer. When I was finally acknowledged the girl changed her voice. Then when my case with my claim was brought up it was an old guy talking about my claim with his back turned towards me. I had to do the clarifying for what had happened to my car. At no fault of my own. My car was parked on a dangerous street where to my surprise it is customary to steal license plates. And someone had actually hit my car. When the old man finally got up to go see what had happened to my car. He made it clear that they wouldn't be able to get the parts for my car because my car has Japanese pieces to bring in. He also added that I would not be able to leave my car when I asked him if I could leave it there. His response was because he had 15 cars coming in that same night and his ratings would go down. The parking and the dysfunctionality of the body shop was definitely not of my likings. My heart by the way was not and driving condition. And I drove it back 2 East Palo feeling extremely sad and without hope. Luckily there was a shop that is closer to location where I have my car parked safely. And they treated me much better from beginning to end.

If you are like me and know little about internal workings of a car you need somebody you can trust. I have entrusted all my car servicing to Akin and never regretted it. Coming to this place for 3 years now. Look at the cleanliness of the garage. That shows how neat their work is.

Awful service. Absolutely the worst customer support I have ever received. This shop was recommend by my insurance - Progressive. Here are some 'service' that I have received so far:1. I was hang up on my call twice a day. I got hang up when I was about to ask a question.2. I was told that I can receive my car but it was postponed twice so far.3. I received no heads up on the postponed notice of the fix and I have to call them and ask for status update.4. The reception lady promised me to transfer to the manager in charge but I was left on the call for 20 mins and nobody was picking up.I am still waiting for my car to be fixed. It seems too impossible. I regret choosing this shop and I hope you will not either.

The employees here are amazing, courteous, and they kept me up-to-date with my repairs and made sure I understood everything that was going on. My car was done a day early even! Definitely recommend

Great body/paint work was done. Unfortunately the mechanical aspect of the damage could not be repaired by them.If the damage to your car is minor and isolated to the body only (with minimal disassembly needed) I would recommend Akins. That's the sole reason for the 3 star rating.If your car has extensive body damage that would involve panels/whole body parts being removed/replaced I would say it's an extreme gamble having them attempt repairs.They are paid by and work for the Insurance company. They are very adamant that you are their customer but this is far from the truth.They are extremely hard to reach by phone before, during, and after "repairs" are considered complete in their eyes.They will have excuse after excuse when you attempt to bring issues up that were either not taken care of altogether or where clear lazy "repairs" were attempted.Nelson Martinez, the "estimator", likes to raise his voice in an attempt to scare people who question him. Maybe it's a height issue, I could care less.Eddie Dunne, the "manager", will tell you that you would need to get a diagnostic at a dealer when you point out a repair that wasn't completed, it is because they are not willing or not capable enough to repair the car properly. Most likely the latter.The owner on paper, Sharon Rupp, is not responsive AT ALL.Either way, they will smile to your face but cry about you among each other when you leave as if it's their personal business.Services: Painting, Electrical, Body & Trim

My experience with Akins was terrible. I had a car accident. Out of the list the agent sent me, I chose Akins because it's close to home and the google review averaged 4. But my car stayed there for a week until I called. I was promised a report would be sent out in the next 2 hours. Then another week passed by. I thought the insurance company was holding up. But they never heard from Akins! Quote from the agent "Unfortunately the shop should not have taken that long to advise us of the situation".

I had a small accident and zeffee took me right in. They said it would take a week for repairs i needed my car and they got done in 3 days. The repairs where great! And the paint color was perfect.

These guys do beautiful work! The service here is outstanding. They truly care about their work and their customers. Nelson has gone above and beyond in communication, dealing with insurance, and handling all the servicing. I can't thank them enough!@treatyousef

By any means, AVOID this body shop!!!!!!!!Everything will take double/triple time they promised you.They will keep telling you it ll be done by certain date and keep delaying without notifying you.I m mentally exhausted to call them multiple times a day just to talk to the agent to get a delayed date (which will likely get delayed again and again).Turns out an estimate took them three weeks and repairing about the same amount of time, while they initially promised that each will take less than a week.AVOID THIS BODY SHOP!
