Glad to have found this place. I used Faustino years ago when he was at PS VW. He is a great guy and knows his VWs. Office is nice and tidy. Shop is huge and clean. These guys are honest and dedicated.They performed my oil change and got a price to replace a window regulator. Very reasonable! Much less than a dealer would charge. Fast service and friendly! Go and see these guys. Very professional.

The owner Faustino is an honest guy. I brought my Passat diesel in for a major issue recently. Top Notch's certified technicians took care of the problem like the OG's they are, and the job came in at $900 under the dealer price to boot. Trust me, don't take your VW or Audi anywhere else, this is the best shop in the valley bar none.

I've referred family and friends to Faustino over the last few years since I started seeing him and each person received a positive experience. I bought a used car recently and went in just this morning to get the AC serviced. Faustino quoted the service to take about an hour, but the techs finished in half that time! Same good, honest energy. No upselling or pressure. Just professionalism and reliability. Thanks, Faustino!

We had an issue with our vehicle traveling from Arizona and stopped in with hopes of getting things corrected before leaving Palm Springs. Faustino got our car right up and diagnosed and corrected the problem in no time at all. These are some really nice people that took care of me and my family in a pinch. I found Top Notch Automotive on Next Door. My battery died and I called Coachella Valley VW and they wanted $490 to replace my battery!!! I don't think so. Those dealerships are just the biggest rip off. I got a jump and headed over to see Faustino & Aaron. I have to say they are the most honest and nicest people to deal with. Now that I am back in the desert, I will only go to Top Notch for my VW needs. Thanks so much!!Service: Battery

After having a dreadful experience with another mechanic (where they made many mistakes!), Top Notch was able to pick up the pieces, and properly repair my engine and replace my air conditioning fan. They are very communicative and respectful. I finally felt comfortable and safe with a mechanic. Our cars are often our connection to our livelihood. When I was finally able to start my Audi after 6 months of not being driven it had all kinds of weird electrical problems: top wouldn t open, fobs didn t work, various warning lights came on and went off. My mechanic recommended these guys. I was expecting a huge bill. It took them half an hour and cost $65 to fix it.Wowzers! Fast, inexpensive service from a couple of really nice guys! Why go anywhere else?

Aaron and Faustino were so helpful. We were involved in an accident while traveling and they fit our 2002 Eurovan in the next day. With their amazing depth of knowledge and troubleshooting skills, our issues were repaired quickly, inexpensively, and we were able to continue on our way. I have a 2015 Audi A3 and I was was tired of getting charged outrageously at the dealer for simple maintenance. I found Top Notch on Google as a dealer alternative and I have been taking my car here now for about two years. I have had the most incredible customer service and the Tech Aaron would even take his time and walk me through what was going on in my car. As other reviewers have said, I am no longer taking my car anywhere else. Huge thank you to the guys at Top Notch automotive.

Faustino and Aaron are absolutely incredible. Bring your car here for any and all service, you won t regret it. I have lived in several cities in several countries, and I can easily say this is the best and most honest auto shop I have encountered. They fought tooth and nail to find a way to get my wife s transmission work done under warranty and spent a lot of their time doing it at no charge. Just to help- because they are awesome like that. Then she brings it back to them for a headlight replacement, and they do it for free not even charging her for the part. They understand that going the extra mile for the customer creates repeat business. I will never go to any other mechanic now. Honest, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating- what more can you ask for? 5 stars.

I gotta say - it's rare to find a mechanic that you not only trust but also truly respect. I brought my aging Audi A3 to them and they were able to diagnose the issues I was having while being honest enough to let me know that I should probably be looking for a new vehicle. I know shops that would've given me the run-around and tacked on every repair possible to keep me coming back, but Faustino and Aaron knew through their experience that I'd likely have to spend quite a bit more to keep this car running and they chose to tell me such instead of taking advantage of my situation. I've had some great mechanics but this kind of integrity is new to me.If you have a German vehicle, I can't recommend Top Notch enough. They can also service other makes but I suggest calling to ask first because they do specialize in Audi/VW.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I was referred to Top Notch by another independent car repair service who said that Top Notch specializes in Audi and VW. My AC went out and I knew if I took it to the dealer it would be a major cost just to have them look at it.Top Notch had me bring it in, no charge to look at it and give me an estimate. Expecting the worst , compressor, I was told it needed a blower fan for $400 installed. They ordered the part I brought it back in, waited 45 minutes and all is well.They are as advertised. Very competent , fair, and friendly.Service: Air conditioning

My 2011 Volkswagen Tiguan with 160,000 miles needed several different repairs and Faustino was great with talking through the issues and prioritizing what should be done ASAP and what I can schedule in the future. They did an excellent job with my first repair and were very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Top Notch and will continue to get my Tiguan serviced there.

Amazing, after reading all the other 5 star reviews i had to come when my Check Engine light came on. If you call and they don t answer, just leave a voicemail and they ll get back to you. Faustino had me in within two days of calling, and after i was quoted 3 business days, he had my car back to me the next day! Aaron and his son found the problem within about 5 minutes of pulling it into the shop which was insane! Also Faustino talked me out of getting an uber to a local bar to wait for my ride and i sat in the lobby and talked with him for 3.5 hours. Hope to not have to come back, but if anything goes wrong that i can t fix myself this is only place I will bring my VW to.Services: Auto engine diagnostic, Engine repair

Very reasonable charges, and fast repairs.**********************July 2021 Update To My 2019 Review: During the past two years, since I wrote my initial Google review, I have taken my one owner VW Touareg with 272K miles back to Top Notch for additional services whenever needed.Faustino and Aaron have been fantastic, each and every time I needed help. As an example, prior to my first Google review in 2019, a different shop had changed my oil. The other shop failed to use a crush washer for the oil drain steel plug, then over torqued the plug, partially stripping the threads on the oil drain.When I had Top Notch change my oil, Aaron noticed the partial stripping, and repaired the oil pan with a heli-coil thread repair kit -- at no charge. WOW.Also, during the past two years, my automatic transmission started giving me very hard downshifts from 3 - 2. Rather than urging me to replace my entire transmission as suggested by a VW dealer ($7K), Aaron replaced the valve body, for less than $1K. Now, my Touareg's downshifts are smooth as can be.If you need your VW or Audi repaired, Top Notch is the go-to place.Services: Transmission, Air & cabin filter replacement, General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic, Auto engine tuning, Engine repair, Air conditioning, Battery, Oil change

Aaron and Faustino are great and reasonable guys! They always make me feel like i made the right choice with them and the work they do holds up. They have done a few things on my GTI, even did a new turbo for me and my car is running great! Thanks guys

These guys are the real deal. Deeply knowledgeable and beyond service oriented! Aaron removed some aftermarket alterations from the Golf R I just bought, and refused to charge me. And he displayed his knowledge, skills, and judgment about all manner of VW details. Much appreciated!

An honest VW mechanic in North Palm Springs.The owner has helped me tremendously with my car.He takes the time to explain what is wrong and offered a free estimate.If you own a Volkswagen, I highly recommend you bring it here for any repairs you may need.

Brought my OUTRAGE 06 Treg V10 TDI here to fix some crazy noise and lack of performance... with in minutes Aaron had identified the problem and I wasn t even charged for the diagnosis!!!Turns out previous owner half ass d the drive shaft repair causing it fail yet again. Also, my lower control arms had shot bushings.I was a little tight on cash at this time so I was able to buy my parts online to save a few extra bucks and they gladly installed the parts I brought in. Obviously they won t warranty my parts but they will always 110% stand behind their work, and warranty their work!Long story short they hooked me up proper! Got my Touareg back to Great.Aaron also has all the Factory VW systems to run diagnostics and we were able to find some other issues with this Touareg that I purchased used.I know it also has an exhaust leak and you can take a guess of where I am bringing it to have this identified and fixed... you bet!! TOP NOTCH AUTO in N. Palm Springs....This is the ONLY SHOP you should ever bring your VW, AUDI, German made car outside the dealership. They have the knowledge and experience to repair anything and everything VW!!! I believe over 20 years experience as VW Specialists.Best VW dealer alternative outside the dealership! Hands down the best! They even brought me back and showed me underneath my vehicle and madeIt very easy for me to understand what repairs were needed and which ones we should tackle first. I feel very comfortable and at home here with Aaron & Faustino!Thanks Top Notch Auto! Will be seeing y all soon to fix that exhaust leak!A++++ 5 Star service!

Exceptional customer service, quality workmanship, and fair pricing! Faustino and Aaron make a perfect tag team with decades of VW/Audi experience. The shop expertly installed Power Stop rotors and brake pads on my 2017 VW Passat.I will definately be back for care maintenance and upgrades.

Top Notch! I was hesitant of taking a Ford in but they were able to help me determine my fuel pump issue and gave a very fair price. Faustino and Aaron were both friendly and professional, I highly recommend Top Notch Automotive!

I have taken two vehicles to top-notch to be repaired. I've spent over $1,000. They were unable to fix either of the repairs. Now when I call them they just hang up on me.
