Blair, Ben, and Fitz are legendary bartenders. Good chat and unbelievable cocktails. Hard to find at first, but this place is without a doubt the best place to grab a drink after skiing. Honorable mention - best wings in Tahoe (the pickleback) as a local in Tahoe, I m shocked it took me this long to find this gem. I ll be back here for post ski grub and nice drinks as much as possible

Can t say enough good things about this place, and especially the staff. We were supposed to stay at an Air BnB but the lock code we received was wrong and the host didn t answer their phone for three hours. At 9 PM we had to find alternate lodging.Thankfully Plumpjack had a room open. Both that night and in the morning, every single staff member we interacted with was kind and helpful, going out of their way to help us however they could. They made our stressful travel issues so much easier and I can t thank them enough. The rooms were great and clean, and the location if you re skiing is insanely convenient.

Hypocrite owned restaurant. Gavinto Newsolini forces hard-working franchise owners to pay $20/ hr while he's paying his workers $16 in one of the most expensive places to live.

My husband and I got married at the end of September and still can't stop talking about how incredible our wedding was at PlumpJack. Not only was the venue in the most stunning location with beautiful views (especially with the fall colors), the team we worked with at PJ were absolutely wonderful. I firmly believe the group of people who are tasked with organizing and executing your wedding day can make or break the day, and we couldn't have been happier. We owe a HUGE thank you to Sarah, Bonnie, Rob and the rest of their team who made our wedding day perfect and far better than anything we could have expected. From the initial venue tour, to the many emails to ensure every detail was perfect, the accommodations made, and executing everything seamlessly on our wedding, I can say with full confidence we would do it all over again in a heartbeat. We are so happy with our decision to have our wedding at PlumpJack. Not only was the staff wonderful, and the location super dreamy, but the food was AMAZING. We chose to serve our guests fish and steak, and we were so impressed with how it turned out! We also really enjoyed the drink selections and know our guests did too!If you are looking for a venue that has it all, PlumpJack is the place- you will not be disappointed!

I'm sure this place is nice. But I won't put $1 in Gavin Newsoms pocket staying here! Anything he owns, I stay away from.

Hotel is ok. Would not stay here again in the summer. We didn't realize there was no air conditioning and it was hot. We couldn't open windows until very late after pool closed because of the noise. It was so hot we both did not sleep well at the hotel.1st night called front desk and asked about air conditioning and they told us to turn down thermostat and wait 4 min, did this and called them back and they said wait 15 min. I tried telling the guy they only have radiator heating and I don't think they have air conditioning. I don't think this front desk understood English.Outside of hotel is beautiful and we bought some cool things at the store they have had in the 1st floor which I highly recommend. Location is 5 star as this is right across from the tram and restaurants. If it were winter, this hotel would be great but not in summer.Edit after response from owner. We paid $330 a night for a king room which was your only option when I booked 6 weeks earlier. It did NOT have a ceiling fan and there was no air conditioning. You provided a small black fan about 1 foot tall in which I found in the closet.

This hotel needs updating. When you walk through the lobby and restaurant/bar area, it feels like you're in a dark maze. There are no elevators, so don't stay here if you're older and can't get a first floor room.Rooms: The rooms are very noisy and need sound proofing.

i really enjoyed my stay. its a short walk to the village. the space is very unique and fells like home. the resturant was fantastic. the staff are friendly and helpfulRooms: i had to remake my bed as the bottom sheet did not cover the bottom of the bed where your feet go. form fitting sheets would handle that.

The room was very unattractive and sparsely furnished. There were cracks in the ceiling and the furnishings were beat up and old. It looked pretty run down and nothing like the charming room in the photos! The location was ideal and the staff was super helpful and friendly.Walkability: Perfect location right in the valley- ideal for a ski-in-ski-out vacation.

I stayed on two consecutive Saturdays at the end of April. The hotel is a gem, it had everything that I needed. Plus the staff is out of this world. They were on top of everything, period. I will return, it is obvious that the staff works hard and takes extra effort in helping guests have an enjoyable experience.Nearby activities: Skiing right outside the front door. Snowshoeing a short walk from hotel.Walkability: Walk to the ski lift from the hotel.Noteworthy details: At the entrance of Palisades Tahoe Ski Resort. Beautiful location.

We only visited for dinner at the restaurant, since we were staying elsewhere. The menu and atmosphere was a delightful change from every place else in the village. I'm sure there's an interesting backstory to the inn's name, but it doesn't feel in sync with the sophisticated menu. We enjoyed Caesar salad with delicate anchovies, butternut soup that was thankfully more savory than sweet, a perfect ribeye, and even some homemade ice cream. Decent wine selection. The staff was attentive without being intrusive. Deserves a return visit.

The staff is friendly, professional and very attentive! We give them five stars! The rooms however do not have working heaters or hot water at least for this stay. Our room is equipped with a baseboard heater. We were told it heats with water so takes a very long time. However, it never did heat up. Shower water was lukewarm and backed up so I was in standing water. The shower curtain does not cover the whole tub area so it was very breezy :-( we booked two nights and were called two days before our reservation to learn the hotel was closing and we could only stay for one night. I guess that's a relief!Just happy we're not here when it's snowy outside!

We have enjoyed our stay at Plumpjack, coming back for several special occasions the past few years . The location can not be beat. The pool area is quiet and relaxing, and it is a short walk to our favorite hike, Shirley Lakes. Plus the staff is always friendly and helpful.

Rooms were spacious and clean, with beautiful views of the mountains nearby. The staff were extremely kind and warm and were very helpful to us. The food (especially the pizza!) was delicious, and very obviously freshly made with care. This hotel has such a cozy, but elegant vibe to it, and the rooms were nicely organized and decorated. I recommend the Paulson Suite! Also, it is great if you want to bring dogs, as it is one of the only (nice) hotels that allow dogs. I definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a nice ski-in mountainside hotel!

The food in the bar area is delicious and affordable. The food in the dining room is exquisite. The atmosphere is incredible. And the cocktails they come up with are dangerously delicious. The rooms are very comfortable. The entire building is dog friendly. A+ rating all around.

Overall I was disappointed with my stay. The hotel is overpriced for what it is offering. No breakfast, no coffee making facilities in the room. The village next door does not have much to offer apart from a few restaurants. Maybe in the ski season it is better since it is close to the slopes.

Really enjoyed Plump Jack. We had a 1 bedroom suite. The bed was very comfortable and plenty of pillows. The living room part of our suite was very nice, I really enjoyed the chaise lounge style chair it was very comfortable. A little bigger frig would have been nice but it worked out. My daughter really liked the bath robes. The grounds were well maintained and very nice. One thing I also enjoyed was there was small out of the way sitting areas. The breakfast was delicious and very fresh. No powdered eggs for the Plump Jack but fresh eggs were used for the scrambled eggs. The Granola was also homemade and delicious also. I would safely say it was the best breakfast I have had at a hotel. My wife and I daughter both ordered a burger and fries from room service and no surprise they both enjoyed the burger but the garlic fries were a big hit. The price I felt was reasonably for the quality and also the area. Last but not least was the staff, they definitely made our stay enjoyable. They were very friendly and helpful. My wife was sitting outside enjoying the pool side and a employee offered and brought her a nice cold glass of water. I have never had that experience at a Marriott, and I am a big Marriott fan. Definitely recommend staying at the Plump Jack.

Staff were lovely, but the bed was awful & there was no AC in room - windows only opened approx 6 inches, so the room didn't cool down until around 5am. Sadly, will not return nor recommend for a summer trip.

We have never been to Tahoe and staying at PlumpJack Inn made all the difference. As soon as we got there we were taken by amazing views of the mountains, people on bikes just so peaceful and joyous. We were greeted by a charismatic and knowledgeable staff that chatted us up and gave us ton if resources to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel isn t too big, so it was nice because I felt like I saw other guests and staff and was in a safe community. The hotel is centrally located to shops, ski spots, the lift and food! Of course the hotel has a wonderful bar and restaurant with delicious food and tasty drinks. We were also able to borrow some bikes and helmets for an afternoon stroll and take in the views. My partner and I were pleasantly surprised by the separated and large bike paths in Sqwua. Another big thing for my while I travel that I loved about this hotel is that it feels like it s a getaway but is 15mins away from a larger city to do some shopping! All in all, I really enjoyed my time here and would recommend it to all!

For what it costs, not very good. The location is excellent. Good bar and restaurant. However for what it costs the rooms are nothing to write home about. Cheap fake leather furniture that is cracking, run down window treatments, marks on the walls, and generic looking bathrooms. The floor board heaters barely worked, it was still very cold in our rooms even after we had maintenance come and repair it. Just not a very impressive property. I am really surprised at the amount of 5 star reviews.
