We just stayed here for a week of family skiing. The rooms are really dated. They re clean, but they won t come clean the rooms at all, or give you replacement towels or anything, without charging you extra. When I inquired about towels at the front desk midway through our trip, they told me that they re not a hotel, and they would charge me $25 for new towels. The towels in the room are for the pool as well, by the way. For $1000/night, we got a set of towels for each person in our family for a 6 night stay, no maid service, and we paid a resort fee for the pool/hot tub/gym. The front desk staff were rude and unhelpful. The room was a 1 bedroom studio with a second queen sized bed in the kitchen. I would not recommend.

Be aware: they are advertising for a newly renovated hotel - beside the reception and the spa area, it is not renovated. When we first arrived at 11pm, after a long drive, we were welcomed by an awful bacon smell mixed with a heater dust smell in our room. Because they were fully booked, they couldn t do anything and we had to somehow fall sleep in this burnt bacon coated room. The next day, when we inquired for some sort of solution, the person at the reception had for only answer it s the down side of having a kitchen in the room. Well for $500 a night, we were definitely expecting for more, even with a kitchen in the room. They ended up clearing some of the smell while we were out by using some scented deodorizing product. On top of that, the room was outdated and dangerous (sharp screws sticking out the bathroom cabinet!)I will never come back and I will definitely speak bad about this place, as they are taking advantages of their customers and offering 0 customer services. We had to beg to have one night of resort fee taken off our bill, as the front desk people were not helpful, and unapologetic. Pass, the ski in ski out is not even that convenient.

Palisades Tahoe Lodge (formerly SV Lodge) has been my winter go-to for many years. The rooms have always been a bit beat up and sometimes not as clean as one might hope, but we have many great memories of staying here with our children, multi-family group trips, and other ski adventures. And the stellar location made up for the negatives. Unfortunately, the current, utterly inflexible reservation policy has ruined this place for me.I've rarely ever changed or cancelled a hotel reservation, but this year has been a tough one. In January, when we were dealing with catastrophic storms, flooding and a week without power at home, we finally decided we had no choice but to cancel a planned ski trip. Palisades Tahoe Lodge refused to help in any way with rescheduling or modifying the reservation. We had to pay for an unused night and cancel the rest of the reservation. Yes, I guess we should have gotten the trip insurance, but who does that to a customer in the middle of a natural disaster? They claim it's "their duty to their owners and customers alike". Hmm... I don't see how this benefits customers, the owner lost two nights out of a three night reservation, and the management lost much goodwill. Now I have a reservation again, but my friends and I had our wires crossed and I made it for one day earlier than they expected. Realizing the error, I tried to move the reservation out by ONE DAY (the next day is available). Again Palisades Tahoe Lodge refused to make any change, saying our only option is to forfeit the full night's charge. Clearly my mistake, but again how does this serve anyone? Instead of taking advantage of a chance to take care of us despite our screwup, and leave us happy and grateful, we are left dumbfounded at such poor service. Hopefully I can find others to go or some other way to salvage the mess.I contrast this with a very nice hotel with owner rooms at another resort in the Eastern Sierra where I stayed two weeks ago. We had reservations for early March, but as you know, this season has been one for the history books. Bad weather and road closures were a problem for the dates we reserved. When I asked about the situation and whether they recommended we try to keep the reservation, they said we were welcome to try and make it but offered to let us cancel free of charge or reschedule to a later date. We rescheduled, and it was a fabulous experience. As one of our party put it "I really don't want anything to do with Palisades Tahoe Lodge after this. I'll have spent as much on cancellations as nights there."

I love staying at the Squaw Valley Lodge. Friendly staff. Best location in Olympic Valley. In winter, you can ski in and out of the building. In the summer, there is hiking right outside. The remodeled lobby looks very nice. Huge, fun pool outside too.

Love this place. Only problem is studio kitchenette didn't have an oven, just a stovetop and a microwave. It had a nice workout room. However, they are renovating it and it was not available this year. It would also be nice if the workout room and/or pool area had a shower that you could use on the day after you check out.Just a few steps from the lifts and close to the village Center.

Very nice location to stay. Very clean hotel. Has a nice pool. Back yard has a scenic beauty. We have visited in the summer time. The location is a center for winter sports. There is a bike rental place, 10 min walking distance from the resort. The bike trail starts right across that store. It follows the Truckee river. Beautiful path to follow. It is also really nice to walk or jog through the path. The resort is approximately 10 minutes to the Tahoe town center.

We stayed here for 4-nights. The room (deluxe studio) was spacious, very clean, and comfortable. The location to the slopes and village is unbeatable. Pool and hot tubs were good too.

Love this place. We are timeshare owners, but believe they rent out rooms too. Nestled in Squaw Valley with quick walking access to Olympic Valley facilities. Courteous staff. Facilities well maintained and clean. We like the summer activities. But the main attraction is the snow skiing.the Olympics was held here. There are several nice restaurants. I reccomend.

AC wasn't working and it got really hot, everyone kept their windows open and we only were provided 2 electric fans. Very outdated. The shower drained slow so the water rose up to ankles. Hair dryer didn't work. Parking always full. The couch beds were super thin and uncomfortable to sleep on since you could literally feel the springs.

Slightly pricey for the quality but you are paying for the convenience. It's very well located - close to the village shops, next to the slopes. The rooms are spacious though dated in terms of furnishing. Have now stayed here a couple of times and it's been comfortable each time. Kitchen is well equipped and staff is friendly and courteous.

This is a true ski in/ski out location. We can drive in, park in an underground garage, not worry about digging out from snow in winter or shield from heat in summer or about driving to dinner and activities, year round, if we don t want to. We get a full kitchen, laundry, access to hotel amenities, restaurants, hiking, ropes course (summer), ski lifts, gondola, bars, bike paths, rentals, etc all within walking distance. Will return for many years to come.

The room (loft suite) was big and clean. It provided plenty of space to store skis, boots, and personal items for everyone in my group. Free parking that lasts til past 4pm the day of checkout made skiing that morning much easier as we hopped right on our skis from the back entrance to the lodge. Room and front lobby had coffee which was nice on a cold winter morning. Would come back due to price and proximity to lifts.

We booked a really comfortable & spacious 2 bedroom condo with a full kitchen & 2 balconies. We had alot more room then we anticipated! We used the pool & hot tub facilities which were very clean & quiet. There was also a nice gym, sauna & steam room. We stayed during Wanderlust weekend and were able to walk on over to the village for all the restaurants, shops & activities. I would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

The staff at Squaw Valley Lodge is absolutely incredible. Honestly like nothing I've seen elsewhere. The units are maintained impeccably and the facilities are perfect for a mountain stay. The gym has everything you'd want and the pool/hot tubs are a great place to end the day (and have surrounding mountain tops in view too. This is due to the fact that Squaw Valley Lodge is located closer to (aka on) the mountain than any other accommodations. I 'definitely recommend staying here!

Stayed in room 308 and I gotta say, we had high expectations given it's price and being ski in ski out, it was rather disappointing. I guess you can say you are paying for the convenience of not having to drive. The place was extremely outdated, very little cooking supplies are provided, and don't bet on any spices or oil. You can't even compare it to an airBnB rental. 1 roll of toilet paper, or was truly disappointing for the price, would rather have stayed at the resort. The one redeeming value, or saving Grace, was the spa, 2 huge spas and they were open for business! If you're into the polar plunge, there is a partially iced over pool!

Very nice and cozy place. Had a great time there and it is right next to the skiing area.Taking 1 star off as it not very tall people friendly. The bed was way too short and I had to squat to fit into the shower.

Arrived at 1am due to heavy traffic/construction from SF. The front desk didn't warn us that our room would be OVER 100F without A/C. There were fans in the room (incl a ceiling fan) but it took a while to get them set up because the patio outlets were both dead and the fan cords were at best 4' long, too short to reach inside outlets. I finally found an extension cord that allowed me to set up the fans on the patio and blow cool air into the unit which cooled it down enough that we could sleep. We also needed a fridge for our food, which was there as advertised, but also broken (the door wouldn't close and the fridge floor was covered in water). There were several other things wrong with the unit, but these were the "highlights". A motel 6 would have been half the price and been a much better choice.

This is a well done hotel in the heart of Squaw Valley resort. The room was only a studio but it met all our needs. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils. No oven but plenty of dishes, cutting boards and even a knife set. The room came witha decent collection of children's books. Easy access to the garage and lots of hot tubs on the property. I didn't get a chance to try the steam room but I certainly will next time.

Stayed in an Airbnb, which was nice but dated. It had a range and dishwasher decades old but well-maintained. Location is hard to beat for access to the Squaw Valley gondola. Some nice amenities available that we didn't really take advantage of. Underground parking with permit. Nice front desk woman.

This is my second stay. Great ski in ski out lodging at Squaw Valley. Deluxe studio has a queen bed, kitchenette, large bathroom, mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and range but no oven. Staff is friendly. The fitness center is well-equipped. Overall, a bit pricey but eorth it for the convenience of being close to everything.

Extremely friendly staff, easy check in experience and clean spacious rooms. I've stayed here twice and it is my go to location if I'm skiing at Squaw Alpine. It is basically a stone's throw away from the lifts and The Village. Great location for families as well.

Just got back from a week at squaw valley lodge with my husband and 20 month old daughter. If there were nothing else good about this lodge, I'd give 5 stars for the shower! Amazing pressure, instant hot/cold water. Great indoor AND outdoor hot tub, very relaxing after a busy day in the slopes at 19F. Yes, it can definitely use some updating and room service is only every 3 days, so we had to use same towels and take the trash out (with dirty diapers) ourselves... Also, website advertises cribs available but there is none, we managed to arrange the pull out couch with pillows and our little one seemed comfortable, not a problem. We could hear our neighbors quite often and snow plows at 5:30 am... Couldn't ask for better location though, literally ski in and ski out. Ski lifts right over our heads. Walking distance from the quaint little village with shops, restaurants, hot chocolate kiosks by fireplaces. And the mountain view.... breathtaking!!!!! Absolutely gorgeous!

The staff here is very friendly and went the extra mile to make my stay pleasant. Special thanks to Luke and Shellie, they both were especially helpful. Always love staying in a place that's sharin' in the groove!

Probably one of the worst hotels I ve ever stayed at. Refrigerator and freezer didn t work. Air conditioning unit blew out more hot air than cold air. Housekeeping doesn t even know housekeeping 101 in cleaning the rooms (i.e. fixing beds, replacing towels, replacing toilet paper). We were here with a big group and everyone had the same problems.I ll give hotel staff credit for fixing things promptly when they were addressed. But honestly you get better quality staying at a residence inn or holiday inn. 2 out of the 3 phones in the room didn t work. The location of the lodge is obviously very convenient and beautiful. And if 95% of hotel 101 basics were done I probably would come back here. But next time when I bring my family to Lake Tahoe which is going to be next month, we will probably stay at a different hotel

Ski in ski out convenient location (as long as the Wa She Shu lift is running) We stayed here a few years ago and liked it so we thought why not do it again and bring some family with us. The location is the best thing about the property now. Construction is going on so the 7am hammering is a not a nice wake up call. No housekeeping service because they are "short staffed". I get it covid has given hotels the opportunity to raise rates while taking away services and this place took heavy advantage of that. We asked for clean towels to be brought up halfway thru our 5 day visit anytime during the day, no rush. We were told we had to walk a block outside in the cold to the temporary front desk trailer to get a clean towel and some toilet paper because they were short staffed during hours when the housekeeping staff was on site cleaning other rooms. We didn't ask to have the room cleaned, just for some towels and toilet paper. Apparently the staff on the floor was so short that no one could walk 3 towels and a roll of toilet paper down to our room during the time they were on our floor. I was able to go hunt them down myself but why should I? I'm here to ski, not perform housekeeping tasks while on vacation. That's NO SERVICE for the $300 a night we paid for our room (and we had two rooms for 5 nights! So three grand and I can't get a towel without getting it myself.) Rooms are comfortable enough but in serious need of updating. 5 stars for location. Minus 2 for lack of any services, and that's a generous deduction!

Very decent. Conveniently located. Spacious accommodation. Decent kitchen. Excellent for longer stays. Not quite a hotel. More of a seasonal rental that gets turned into a hotel off season (locked cabinets and drawers). The cleansiness is that of a 3 star hotel (dust on fixtures), but expected for this type of accommodation.

Very friendly service. Our room wasn't quite ready when we got here but they offered to store our bags until it was ready. The room/condo was more than we had expected. It has a downstairs bed, a pull out and a bed with a bathroom in an upstairs loft area. Full kitchen with an oven, stove and full sized refrigerator. Big showers with excellent water pressure. The only somewhat negative thing tobsay is that the beds are a bit too firm for my liking.
