We are relatively new residents to Oceanside. Just finished a cross country journey with one vehicle and it was in need of service. Our other vehicle that we leave here for vacation purposes also required service. We were referred to North County and are quite pleased now that both vehicles are back in shape. We were appointed in a reasonable amount of time and the work required took exactly the amount of time as promised. Everything was explained concisely and we were given good advice. Relieved we have found a place we can rely on and trust for our future automotive needs

A while ago, when I was in the service, I always came here when I needed something done on my car. The quality of workmanship, customer service, timeliness, and fair pricing is absolutely unmatched. I would highly recommend this place to everybody.

Second time I took my 2005 BMW 325 CI for service and both times the work was done professionally and the car performed well afterwards. The work was done quickly and I received the car back at the promised time. I would highly recommend North County Auto Service for quality work at a very fair price.

My car was having weird problems and took it to them. Rex and I think Michael were so helpful. After having my car for 2 days they kept inspecting to find the issue and fixed it! The best part is they didn t charge me!

These people are skilled and honest. Our 2016 Prius was having a problem with a water pump. The dealer was quoting us an intimidating amount of money, and said we needed the brakes done. North County Auto Service found a discrepancy both in the price of the repair but also in the measurement of my brakes. They saved us more than half the dealer's quote. Thank you!

I grew up and worked in my families automtive business for many many years. Because of this I have dealt with many automotive businesses in my time. So you can fully believe me when I say this one is TOP NOTCH!!!I don't always let on that I am automtive savy and since I am a female, it tends to be easy to see who is truthful or not. Mike and the gentlemen at N.C Auto are very honest, competent, caring and kind!! The cost of repairs is always spot on, not over priced at all!! I fully trust my vehicles, and highly recommend them!! My family and friends wouldn't go anywhere else!Thank you, you guys are wonderful!!

Mike from North County Auto Service knows about more than just auto service. He knows about quality, value of your time, and customer service. I took my car there because my usual mechanic quoted me an outrageous amount for a minor service. Mike was able to get my car in and turned around in no time at a fair price. He followed up more than one time to make sure things continued to run smoothly. Needless to say Mike is now my go to mechanic. Honest pricing, reliable service, and most importantly he showed he valued my time by giving me a turnaround estimate that was accurate. Plus he's a nice guy who is upfront and trustworthy.

After receiving word from my local mechanic in Lake Tahoe that I needed a new power steering box 3 days from the start of my long awaited vacation, I decided to look for a mechanic in North County SD to get a 2nd opinion and possibly do the work for me. I made an appointment with Rex at North County Auto Service for the day after I arrived in town. He was very helpful and reassuring on the phone, so I looked forward to taking my car to them. Their review of the vehicle confirmed my mechanic's findings and I booked the service on the spot. Everything from the check-in and then pick up of the vehicle was effortless. Mike was also very kind and made the whole experience easy. They really care for the customer and the quality of service was beyond exceptional!Service: Steering & suspension repair

Excellent service, I brought my vehicle in for an inspection and was quoted for time and labor, the front desk team was friendly and knowledgable. I brought my Mazda CX-5 in because the air conditioning system was not cooling. Mike explained what would take place, how North County's first come first served drop off system worked, and the expected costs. After checking with a couple of other shops, I chose North County. That morning I was third in line to schedule the evaluation and left. I received a call about an hour later with the bad news that the condenser needed to be replaced, a much more significant job and consequently considerably more expensive. Regardless of this extra work, an additional 4 hours, my car was ready for pick up before they closed at 5:00 and Mike had found a less expensive source for the necessary part, saving me about 10%. I also received a texted photo mid-day showing the extent of the disassembly and a follow-up text a few days later making sure all was good with the repair. When I was doing my initial research, Mike told me the most difficult thing about moving was "finding a good barber and an honest mechanic". I certainly feel I have found the latter in North County Auto Service.Service: Air conditioning

I ve been here twice and they re super fast and reliable. I usually get my car back within a day or 2 even for major fixes. Rex gives REAL advice that some mechanics might not. Mike, the owner of North County Auto repair is second to none! He has gone over and beyond troubleshooting and repairing my 1981 Jeep CJ-8 Scrambler. Most recently I failed the Cal Smog Test and brought it immediately over to North County. It was a difficult problem to resolve and thru his and his shops ingenuity and expertise they rectified the problem. My Jeep passed the Smog test with flying colors and it never ran better. I will only take my Jeep to them - they are trustworthy, reasonably priced and expeditiously efficient.Services: Auto engine tuning, Engine repair

Rex was very professional and great to work with. The tech Josh was awesome also. I had my water pump replaced, transmission flushed, thermostat replaced and josh noticed I had a low quality belt on my truck and wanted to replace it. I know it was low quality because I put it on myself. When I went to pick my truck up the ac wasn t working. I took it back and josh quickly diagnosed a leak. I had noticed my ac not working tip top but I figured it was due to the extreme heat (120 degrees where I live at the time) so I know they didn t cause the issue. They quoted me a price for parts labor and Freon to repair the issue but when I went in the next day to get my truck they only charged me for the part. Josh even came in to work early to ensure I had my truck on time and did the work for free. Amazing shop. Honest guys. I ll be back for sure.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Great service and straight forward mechanic. Brought my Toyota Tacoma here for service because my AC had a leaky line(s). Toyota Service center wanted to shotgun the approach and replace all the lines even though they weren't all bad. They also wanted a small fortune to do this. So I started shopping around for 3rd party AC services. Reached out to several and would never be given an estimate or an idea of what they'd even do. Usually they told me "just bring it by and we'll take a look". So no service plan and no idea of what it would cost me. I saw North County Auto Service had a good chunk of positive reviews so I figured I'd give them a call. Rex helped me out over the phone and told me they would do the base AC checkup package they offer and proceed to test the AC and put dye in the lines if need be to look for leaks with UV lenses. Finally someone gave me a good idea of what service would be performed. I brought the truck in early morning and they had it done by late afternoon. Found the leaky lines, replaced them, and recharged my AC. Works good as new. Thanks again!

Mr. Mike Perkins is a VERY knowledgeable, honest,& dependable business owner. His hard working staff & line of well trained and skilled certified mechanics are more than any customer can ask for. For the past 17 our families have ALWAYS turned to North County Auto Service for ALL our automotive needs & will continue for as long as they are open for business.Good mechanics ARE VERY hard to find, we are very fortunate to know we all can count on him!

I can't thank North County Auto Service enough! They saved us over $8,000!!!! Our dealership told us we needed a new engine and we called North County Auto Service and the amazing Rex helped us out and it turns out all we needed was oil!!!! They are incredible, trustworthy people and I would highly recommend giving them all your auto repair service!!!! Thanks again Rex!!!!

North County Auto Service stands by their work. I have had to take my GMC in for an on going issue and they have taken care of it or warranted a part without question. We take all of our vehicles there and will continue to do so. We appreciate having a shop we can trust. If we are having an issue with one of our vehicles, they get us right in and taken care of, and they are always forthright about our options. This is a good honest business ran by real people who will treat you like a real person. I was able to walk-in and drop off my family van (again), and receive fast, efficient service with no run around. They have always been polite and caring in person and over the phone with my wife and I. We will be life long loyal customers with North County Auto Service. Mike has a great shop. Rex keeps things running smoothly. Mechanics / technicians know there trade and specialities. They can fix about any automotive issue that is fixable. I highly recommend North County Auto Service.

This is a place of integrity with solid good old fashion sincere work . Their words are true which is so hard to come by these days . Mike is very knowledgeable about the workings of your car . Mine's is a Honda accord 2013. I used to take my car to a franchised mechanic shop that were only concerned about how much their daily sales were so they will just have you change parts with little validation of the reasons for it needing to be changed .They would just say it's preventative maintenance. Then I discovered North County Auto, Mike who oversaw my repairs had the technician test and test . They took almost an entire day to diagnose my car's issue then advised me on the best course of action for the benefit of the proper working of my car and my well being . Great Job guys ! Big thanks to Mike and Rex. These guys are reliable, professional and most importantly honest. I have taken my Acura, BMW, and Mazda there for several years and in my opinion each car gets better service than dealerships. Highly recommend this shop!
