Fantastic mechanic, honest and upfront about issues, potential problems and pricing. Finds the best price parts so that you aren't spending too much. Answers the phone or calls you back very quickly. Definitely would recommend, great shop.

Jim is amazing! My car needed a new radiator and thermostat housing unit and he was able to look at my car on a Sunday and it was fixed by Monday afternoon! Price was very reasonable and he immediately knew the issue once when we opened the hood. Hard workers & very honest!

HIGHLY recommend this place. My son was traveling in town from AZ. Got stranded with dead battery/alternator. Jim went WAY over and beyond to help him. Including driving over to the hotel he was staying at to give him a jump. AFTER HOURS. Oceanside is lucky to have him.

Outstanding service! I am from out of town and was having cooling problems with my diesel. I incorrectly suspected a thermostat and was directed to My Mechanic by a tire shop in the area. Jim was not able to replace the thermostat as it was late on a Friday. However, he was able to direct me to someone who could, to get me back on the road.Upon realizing my mistake, I brought my truck back to My Mechanic where Jim and his mechanics went over the possible issues and agreed to diagnose the problem. By this time it was 8:30 pm on a Friday. They were able to diagnose and fix the problem by Sunday and it was done at a great price. If I lived closer, they would get all my future business.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I came in with an issue with my fuel gage and Jim was so kind and helpful. He quoted me a price over the weekend, but said that he could get me a better price if I waited until Monday. I waited and he got me a new fuel gage for around $200 less! I really appreciate honest mechanics as I know it is easy to take advantage of people that don't know a lot about cars. I would highly recommend them and will definitely go back next time I have car issues.Service: Auto engine diagnostic

I'd give them 10 stars if I could!!! I I had the transmission go out in my 2005 Yukon and called around to a few places all of which wanted to give me the standard "Well, bring it in and we'll take it apart and we'll look first and then we'll give you a price".. I called Jim and he asked for make, Model, and VIN then order me a price right over the phone. Having already priced the parts online I knew he was giving me a fair deal. I agree I would bring it down to him he agreed to order the part and that was on Tuesday I have keys in hand with a perfectly running vehicle by Friday afternoon. Fast, Knowledgeable, Honest service at a great price!! Let's face it that is unheard of today, I'm still in shock! I have recommended them at least three times since then and plan to go back anytime one of my vehicles needs a service.Service: Transmission

It was a Friday of a 3-day weekend, at 5 pm. Thirty-five minutes from our destination, we encountered a problem with our Dodge 2500. By chance, we found this very reliable and honest shop. We left the truck for a morning diagnostic and Ubered the rest of the way to our hotel. We were fully prepared to rent a car and leave the truck for the week so the shop could repair it. However, early Saturday morning, the mechanic called and said the wheel hubs and front suspension needed to be repaired. IF the mechanic could obtain parts, the truck would be done and ready to be picked up by 5 pm. It was done by 3:30 pm and at a VERY reasonable price. We can not express how grateful we were to have found My Mechanic Automotive. We hope this shop does well, and we are sad that they are not closer to us.Services: Steering & suspension repair, Brakes, Brake service & repair

Called with a concern about a strange noise my son's car was making. Went by and Mike took awesome care of us. He was polite, prompt, thorough and informative. He put oil in for us and wouldn't accept ANY payment. He just asked if we would bring the car back so his associate Jim could investigate further. Mike even put some plastic dust cover bolts in and refused to charge for them. Awesome to find such honest and helpful service. Thank you Mike and kudos to My Mechanic.

I went to visit my son in that area, my car just made it to the city. It was almost ready to stop working. I looked up for the nearest mechanic and he close by. It was a Sunday so he couldn't do anything that day but the next day, showed me the problem and was able to get it running again! I was so grateful! Thank you again!

I have been going to see my mechanic Jim for several years now. He always provides an expert opinion as well as budget friendly recommendations. He completes any and all work within a timely manner. He has several vendors it seems as parts are always available and delivered to his shop with great speed. Would highly recommend him to anyone in north county or visiting southern California

I originally went to dodge this morning and they quoted me almost $1000 for a job that Jim did for several hundred dollars less. It only took him 4 hours and he did an amazing job!! Not only did I get to see part of the job he did- about the last 1 hour- he taught me something new on my car. He definitely is a mechanic I will go to from now on. I recommend him to anyone needing a mechanic.

Jim did an excellent job my front and rear brakes on my 2003 Ford Sportstrac. Reasonable and completed as promised.Recently, Jim found my windshield washer tank on my 2004 Toyota Solara not working and made needed repair on time and reasonable rates.

Excellent quality work, very reasonable cost. James is not only an A-1 mechanic but he is a really nice guy! When I had several problems with my 2005 Chrysler Town and Country he accurately pinpointed the problem and fixed it at minimal cost.

My Mechanic is a very good place to get honesty and clear communication about your vehicle , what it needs and why. Also to mention, Jim at My Mechanic showed me some incorrect work from a previous mechanic .My Mechanic is definitely very fair on his prices, and will let you bring your own parts. If you re shopping for a mechanic, let me express to you how wonderful My Mechanic and his services are compared to all the ripoffs I have done business with .

They are AMAZING!! My exhaust was super messed up and they walked me through what was wrong and what needed to be done. They gave me a price range upfront and stuck with it. I came in later in the day and they told me that they would stay open after closing time to get it done!! Awesome customer service and got everything fixed perfectly!! Now my car purrs like a kitten instead of roaring like a lion Would recommend to anyone needing their vehicle fixed!!

Did a front brakes and rotors install on my 2012 rav4, had it done super fast. Was flexable with the appointment. Nice guy and seemed quite knowledgeable. Will definitely be going back for future automotive needs. Would recommend his services if you need some car maintenance or repair.

My family was headed to Carlsbad this weekend and my 2012 Honda Odyssey failed us. The check charging system light came on and within 5 minutes everything electrical in the car was malfunctioning and the car was lurching like we'd been rear-ended. Pulled off the road and called AAA but had no idea where to take it. I ended up calling Jim, he said he could get us in, and AAA towed us over there. Jim replaced the alternator and though it's only been a couple of days so far so good! Now about those other issues, Honda!I'd definitely recommend Jim @ My Mechanic. BTW, if you do get stranded here for a few hours at least you're also close to the pier and the beachside areas of Oceanside as well.

I have An S550 & everyone was telling me 2000 and do my strut! I went in w an arnott from O'Reilly, cost me 354 after the 200 core rebate,, and they charged me 200 to put it on!
