My wife and I have had several of our classic cars built and upgraded with them over the years and they always exceed our expectations.Jason knows his stuff and is an old school car guy. Very rare these days.! When all is said and done, you will be happy that you went there.

This business is awesome, I would say they work fast and are very reasonable with their prices. They were even willing to take my calls after hours making sure I was taken care of. I would say the only down part about this business is that they struggled a bit with reaching out when it canes to information about my vehicle but after I called them they answered all my questions. So would recommend if you want the job done right and in a timely matter!Service: Auto maintenance

I paid upfront for a transmission swap 1 year ago. Jason the owner took my money and blocked my number. If anyone is having this problem please contact me. The owner, Jason, is incredibly dishonest. He has taken money and not completed the vehicle. Jason will also not answer his phone or respond to any communication. We have had to get the Oceanside police involved. Very disappointed.

I was looking for an oil change for our 2017 Audi A4. I was told 30 minutes, but then was told they couldn't get the oil filter until 3pm, but they gave me a loaner car to use in the meanwhile. I went back at 3:15pm even though nobody called me. I pulled in and the guy was on his way out of the lot with my car. He backed up and said the car was done. I noted the mileage and it was accurate to a mile. I was charged $168.69 for an oil change!! The reason was the cost of the oil filter. Crazy! I felt creepy there and should have listened to my instincts. I won't use this place again.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Would not recommend this place! I took my econoline van here for a front end job including: tie rod end, center link, and drag link, and shocks.I Was in a pretty desperate situation and needed the work done in a day. Jason said he would have it fixed by the end of the day. When he called me up saying it was ready for pickup the mechanics were still test driving it. After the test drive one of the mechanics realized he put the steering wheel on upside down. He had me wait 2 hours after the shop closed only to give it back to me with the steering wheel on sideways and van not driving straight. He told me to come back the following day to re align the van and said it would only take 1 hour.The next day I show up at 830 and he s no where to be found and neither is the shop owner i call the owner 5 times no pickup. I wait around for 4 hours until the mechanic finally shows up. It ended up taking him about 2 hours to fix it until I was finally back on the road; a day later then they said it would be. The shop owner never called me back! These people are not professional and incompetent go somewhere else! And Make sure they don t install your steering wheel upside down!Service: Steering & suspension repair

Jason is without a doubt one of the best mechanics out there!! Him and his team will take care of you beyond expectation. Very sincere and willing to work with you at all angles to get your car up and running again. Very amazed by his friendliness and charm, but more importantly his trust. Took my car in to replace transmission and he got that done perfectly and in no time. Then took in again when I needed a long-overdue TuneUp. Professional and affordable! No amount of stars can show my appreciation. 5 stars + + + to show accolades Coast Auto Care deserves! Kudos!!

Jason was very professional and courteous, explained everything in detail on what he offered and approximately how long it was going to take, and the dollar amount right up front, so there s no guessing. Very personable as well.After performing a wheel alignment on my Genesis, I was very pleased with information given on what he did and what to watch out for. I appreciate business owners that truly listen to the reason why your there in the first place and follow through with your expectation! Thanks Jason, I will definitely return for future business when needed.

My normal mechanic retired so I brought my vintage BMW here. I had used them years ago for an '83 Jeep and service was very good. This time service was just as good, and with a 30 tear old BMW anything can happen. I needed to leave town on emergency and Jason said no problem. Reasonable price and good service. Was never updated on anything at all. The only time I was given an update was after I had called or texted multiple times. Was given deadlines by the mech/owner for when the car would be done. Those deadlines were never fulfilled. I completely understand parte take time, and other issue can arise but not once did they call me to tell me any of those things. I only found out when I called and actually got to speak to someone and not the answering machine like I had so many times before. Was also given a price that would be out the door with taxes. Other issues had come up during the process with the car and instead of calling me to tell me and tell me how much more Money and time it would be. They just went ahead and did the work And got the parts. Now if I had found out and said no then I would be been charged a restocking fee and for the labor that they already did without my consent. Which could have been avoided if they had contacted me and kept me informed and up to date with what was going on. I will never recommend this place of business to any one else nor ever come back with my own. As someone who works with business owners, this is a sad and terrible way to run one. This place was recomended by a coworker to have my control arms replaced. Ended up needing to have the struts replaced as well. Quite a bit more than I originally planed on spending but my car drives like its new. A++ in my books. If you want to keep your car in tip top shape bring it to coast auto. Thank you Jason for the exceptional experience.

Jason helped my husband with his Buick and Chevy. However, thousands of dollars later we are still battling the same problems. Nor, did Jason provide a final invoice for our Chevy. We feel very ripped off and as if our needs were never met. We took both cars somewhere else in Carlsbad and they repaired them perfectly for a fraction of the cost. Save yourself time and energy and go elsewhere.

Highly recommend not bringing your vehicle to this location and I will explain why.I brought my vehicle initially because of an error code on my O2 sensors. The cost was $460 to replace all four of them. This is reasonable considering the each one costs $61 at AutoZone, even though Jason told me they cost $68 because they were a better brand ( I know this because I replaced one due to the code). I also know they were the same ones because I saw the replacement boxes after I returned mine back to Auto Zone and the employee mentioned this shop buys their parts (or at least some) at that store. I was told to return at 3:30pm (two days later roughly 48-52 hours later). I showed up and the vehicle was fine (no check engine light). The next morning the check engine light comes back on and I speak to Jason. Over the phone I do inquire as to what was done to the vehicle. (If I am paying than, I would like to know what exactly was done to it). This seems to slightly irritate him, then he proceeds to tell me that I rushed them in doing the work. At this point the situation has elevated and now we are arguing over this. In my defense I did not set a date to pick up the vehicle, I asked them when should I come back and they said they would call. They only called to give me an estimate and said the vehicle would be ready the following day. The following day I called in the morning to ask when would they like me to come by and Jason told me 3:30pm and I showed up punctual at that time.The customer service was horrible, I was being blamed for the incident, but because I was the one in need for my vehicle to be fixed I ate it and we agreed to work on it again.I brought the vehicle in and the employees did offer me a loner. I did appreciate that, because I had to use a vehicle to get to work. This time I left the vehicle and did not call them for about two days and again Jason answered. I simply asked and I stated I do not mean to rush but when do you think it would be best for me to pass by? He replied that the car is ready for pick up, what was wrong, and that they would run all checks. He then directed me to come that afternoon at 3:30pm. I insisted if he was sure, because I do not want to rush anything and he assured me everything would be fine.I go to pick up my car and I see the same person that gave me the vehicle the first time. Seth. I asked him if all checks were conducted because I need to pass smog. He said that he did not do it because he just got in. He checked the vehicle and said the car was good. I walked over to my vehicle and saw a cracked rear bumper with smudge marks still on the vehicle. I told him this wasn t here before and I wanted to know who drove my vehicle (I did know that they had to drive it in order for the car to register the switched O2 sensors). He could not give me an answer, because according to him, he did not drive it and didn t know who did. He contacted Jason and he told him to take pictures. I asked him for Jason s number and I called multiple times. Jason refused to answer because he knew it was me and I proceeded to text him and to this day no response.This establishment claims no responsibility for the damages they caused to the vehicle. My check engine light is still on, my rear bumper is cracked, and I m out by $460. (I might have to check my receipt I think it might ve been slightly more).I recommend no one come to this place.

I have a 13 year old car with over 100,000 miles and they have worked on it multiple times, always at reasonable pricing and fit me in the schedule no matter how busy they are. Great to have them right in the S. Oceanside neighborhood. Highly recommend.

Hello, just wanted to give some great feedback on the guys at Coast Auto Care! I was on vacation heading down to La Jolla with my family of 4 on Saturday this past Labor Day weekend and my check engine light came on when on the Frwy! I immediately pulled of the frwy as the manual said it could be a serious engine issue and don t drive any faster than 30 mph! I immediately started calling auto shops and no one was open or the few I called they were booked! I then called Coast Auto Care and was greeted very nicely and they said to come by as what I was describing could be serious,! I drove to the shop and they diagnosed the problem and they started calling around to get my part, he was able to find the part and they said we will get this done for you! They then offered us a loaner car and said to take our family to the local pier at the beach that was nearby and go enjoy the day and we will call you when done! Three hours later we go back and the car is fixed and running and we can be on our way! This made our day as we were thinking we were 3 hours away from home and this is not looking good! These guys came through for us and made the best of a bad situation! I really appreciate these guys with there honesty and how they were able to help and get us on our way! Great honest people that are caring! You made our vacation! I Really do appreciate your honesty and getting the job done right!

My 2002 Lexus 430 would severely stall on moderate acceleration and it would not generate codes. It was very difficult to diagnose but Jason went beyond the call of duty, He persisted in resolving what turned out to be a very difficult issue. The car runs smoothly now and I am happy with the repair.

I took my 04 dodge caravan to this shop on the 25th and then the mechanic told me they normally charge per side $150 to adjust the back brake then the mechanic agreed to do it for$80 and he didn't even do anything he tried to tell me it would cost over$500 to get it fixed. Now I am at a different shop that gave me the correct diagnosis. This place coastal Auto all lies major RIP off!

Best In town for foreign or domestic repair. I drive an Audi A6 and after A wreck now It's good as new, A rare find Is someone who can fix A German or any other car without having to return to the shop. Great customer service as well.

This is a wonderful business. They helped us out of a very bad situation. They gave us a loaner car while our car was being fixed. They are all together a fantastic auto shop and I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Jason and his team work crazy fast. They do a clean job, plenty of attention to detail and highly recommend. They master LS swaps btw, so dont think twice if shopping for a solid mechanic to drop one in your toy, you ll be glad you chose them

IF I COULD RATE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS I WOULD!!!Our car was stolen from this Auto Shop and they refuse to be held responsible. They park our car outside their shop on the street and then lock our keys in the car and it got stolen. When we try to file a claim they refuse to take action and be held responsible. Jason the owner stated it s not their fault the car was stolen because it wasn t parked on their property??? Although they parked it in the street without telling us and left the keys locked in the car while it was in their hands being worked on!! We lost our family vehicle and now have no way to get around thanks to this Auto Shop. DONT COME HERE! SAVE YOUR MONEY and go elsewhere!!!

Quoted me $80.00 for a frontend alignment when he was done he said it would be $225.00 no parts or anything needed . After test driving , it was way worse than when I bought it in , not even driveable.... I didn't bring it back, dont want them touching my car again !!!!!

Was really impressed with the service of this place. They delivered my car to me when finished and prices were reasonable. The guys that work here are very nice. Would definitely use them again if needed.
