Only 49 Porsche 997.2 GTS like mine entered the continent that year (2011). Taking mine anywhere for any work is a big deal, especially as I only have 30k miles. A fluke water valve cover came up under mine. The repair required basically removing the entire interior of the car for access, so this was a very big job. The work performed was flawless. Extraordinary care was taken. In any city there are a select few companies that perform work to the same high standard. When you find them you almost want to keep them a secret. Chris Amato is part of that select group here in San Diego area. He and his team deserve all the kudos and business they can handle. Their quality standard for work and customer service will never slip. Unequivocally recommended.

I dropped off my car at this shop for a minor scrape on my rear passenger's side bumper. I didn't get an update from them as to how long they'll have my car until 6days after. And the worst part, I was informed that the bumper needed to be replaced, ordered and installed. I was told they'll send my insurance their new estimate. This was after a week of my car being in their shop. Later on, I was informed that the car might be in the shop for 3wks. After a week later, another update was car will be unavailable until 1st of Feb. This place has bad customer service. They said, they only give updates twice a week, which are Thursdays and Fridays only. If you leave them a message in the beginning of the week, nobody will return your call until the end of the week. When I pick up the car, a month later. Their reason of the delay was the paint (getting the color to match), which prior to pickup, they were blaming Lucid for the delay of the bumper. I hope Lucid finds a much better body shop for their cars.

They kept my car for 4 months cashed my insurance check on a new invoice and made me pick up car like this not fixed with a big clean up mess

Avoid these clowns if you can. Had to use them because I was reared ended and this trash shop was the closest one to me. First they tell you that they run off of appointments only so I couldn't drop off the car anytime that I wanted to. I had to schedule an appointment first. Of course they keep my car in the shop for two months. On the same day that it's ready, they tell me that I have to pick it up or be charged $120 per day for a storage fee. Of course they suddenly no longer require appointments. They make up the rules as they go. They also told said that they would be communicating with the insurance company "every step of the way" then told me to inform the insurance company of an update. Well, I work 80 hours a week so I don't have time to just pick up my car on the day that it is ready. I offered to schedule for something early the following week as it was ready on a Friday afternoon. Of course they wouldn't budge. I knew from their trash ratings that they would pull something like this. Avoid them like the plague. Surprises me that these company will try to nickel and dime you over trivial matters over customer satisfaction. Will be reporting them to the attorney general for unethical business practice.

Someone side swiped me in my Tesla on the highway and I was going to have to wait a week before Tesla would be able to look at it. When I called Chris Amato's body werks they helped me get my car in sooner and the work has been impeccable. I'd like to add their customer service rep Marleen was phenomenal, she kept me in the loop on a weekly basis and was so patient to answer my questions and leaving me regular updates on my car. I would go back there in a heartbeat. Thank you Marleen for making this truly a smooth transition for me!Services: Tires, Steering & suspension repair, Painting, Body & Trim

It was the worst experience I've ever had. If I could I would rate 0 for them. The personnel are rude & irresponsible. They don't respond to you until they need to collect money. They lied about my car repair. And requested unnecessary charges. Lisa Collins, The owner called me and threatened me to either pay the absurd cost after I had fully paid their final estimate. Don't ever get your car there.

Chris Amatos is a great shop I took my vehicle to get fixed right there and they did such a great job they had my vehicle ready in less than two weeks they were keeping me updated with every details and everything they were getting done to the vehicle I just want to say thank you to Sarah for all the great work.

I have been a high end professional auto detailer for nearly 40 years. I have taken a number of exotic and luxury cars owned by my clients to Chris since he opened his shop. Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Bentley, Porsche, Ferrari, Mercedes, and many more, including my personal vehicles. Chris and his staff "get it". The job is done right with the goal of any repairs being undetectable. I am extremely particular and this shop has never disappointed me. Proper and complete disassembly to ensure a factory or better finish. Expert paint match and blending. Delivery of a clean and beautiful car upon completion. Quality work takes time, so don't expect a car with significant damage to be back in your garage in a week or two. It doesn't work that way.

First stimated 2 weeks job then it took them 70 days to repair. They called us to get the car and pay off. Then they brought up another excuse to change the tire and asked extra $3000 more before they release the car. Horrible service and irresponsible staff.

Marissa and the entire team at Chris Amato was amazing in a very difficult time in my life. After 4 open claims my husband and I had to open another. My husband was a fire sprinkler fitter in the fire protection industry since 1996. So to say our 2016 tundra was banged out would not do just to how it looked. Horrible believe me. The tundra was to be ready September 1st. But on August 25th at about 7:45 pm I received the worst news. My husband had been killed in a motorcycle accident. Marissa was so understanding that I would not be able to pick up the truck the following Friday and the shop was unbelievably and so understanding. Now to these guys shop. Our truck looks brand new again. I called and was in tears with Marissa because they made our truck look better then when we picked it up at CarMax. This shop to me did much more then fix my truck. Did a fantastic job of repairing my Audi's rear end. The car had modifications and they restored it as such, not stock. Car came back completely clean inside & out. Even more important, 8 months later I thought that the bumper paint had cracked. I stopped by and met the owner who came out to look at it. Turned out it was just some very stubborn contaminant. He took it in back and had it polished out for me. Very happy with them. Highly recommend them.Services: Painting, Body & Trim

It took 3.5 months in total to fix my car and the quality of work was mediocre.OK, it took 3.5 months in total to fix my pearl white Tesla Model S, including 2.5 months at the body shop. Tesla apparently shipped the wrong body part and I had to wait 2.5 months to get my car back since the correct part was on backorder. Why didn't they check that the part was correct before I brought in my car to the shop? They did offer to fix the dent on my existing fender (which is what they had originally NOT recommended), but I wanted my car to be repaired right, so I waited for the part to arrive.After I received my car, I noticed these large droplets of clear coat all over my perfectly good hood. The damage was on my front left fender (my hood was totally fine) and they said they had to blend in the paint on my hood to make the fresh paint on the fender blend in. Chris said that they add clear coat over rock chips when they blend in the paint, but they forgot to polish them away. I didn't see any rock chips, but apparently even tiny ones can be seen after clear coat is applied. I had to take my car back twice for polishing until they were able to get most of it out. I can still see them in the garage under fluorescent light, but it's not as obvious as it was originally. I'm not happy, but can live with that.Overall, they have poor quality control and I would not recommend this shop for any auto body repairs. I give them two stars for trying. However, I am disappointed with the quality of their work. I expected a lot more from a luxury auto body shop.Service: Body & Trim

They scheduled my car for rear bumper repair 2 months down. After waiting this long, they send me an estimate to sign $1500 more than what insurance authorized, hoping they can charge me more, After they failed with that, they called me for drop off. I dropped my car off. 3 days after, they called me to go and pick up my car, Bc the parts are in back order. I called the dealership and figured out the parts are available but no order placed for me . I called them back, a person who called herself the owner, started yelling and threatening me to cancel the repair bc she was upset why I figured out about the order even not being placed. She cancelled the contract prior checking with the insurance. They said my car is untouched, I can pick up any time,. when I said I am on my way for pick up. This time somebody else said I can t pick it up yet bc the car need to be reassembled. very unprofessional owner. I had to call the insurance to inspect my car to make sure nothing is wrong with the rest of my car and the originality of the parts prior to pick up! I believe and after reading some reviews about other customer experiences, that was a great decision to leave this place!

I just got my car back from them and their work is amazing. They are Mercedes Benz certified, which is mainly why I chose them and it shows in the quality job they did. Also, they hit their target date as promised. Communication and updates were great, thanks to my contact Nina. I highly recommend them, and will use them again in the future if needed. Very professional! They work easily with insurance company. Top notch repairs and color match.Return of car was super classy. They go over repairs with you, car is waiting and cleaned, walk you to car so you can inspect repairs. Very classy presentation of receipt.They could improve communication during repairs, to keep you updated but was not a major issue.

I took my Honda to them for a paint warranty extension. Nicole was super professional and very helpful in dealing with Honda and communicating everything to me. They were fast, efficient and my car turned out beautifully. I am really happy with the results and would highly recommend them!

I've had 3 repairs done at this shop. The first 2 repairs were great. Can't even tell there was a repair. Now, the 3rd repair my auto insurance company tried to declare my car a total loss. I couldn't believe it was happening. However, Chris was able to negotiate and saved my family car! My auto insurance adjuster was telling me what an outstanding auto body shop this is and I fully agree.

3 months in and still waiting for my Tesla. Multiple missed deadlines.I was told it would be done mid to late August. It then changed to late August, and we are now mid September, so I understand extensive damage requires longer to repair, but the duration to repair shouldn't shift one entire month after your time estimate.

I had a wonderful experience at Chris Amato's, and I wouldn't take my car anywhere else for body work.They replaced a bumper and tail light on my E350, and it came out absolutely perfect!! Everyone at the shop was courteous and helpful. Carter did a great job keeping me updated, as well as communicating with the insurance company for me. The entire experience was pleasant and completely stress free!I am a very happy customer!

Chris Amato's is the best body shop I have ever taken a car to (by miles!). Not only was my damage repaired to just-off-the-lot perfection, but the communication was awesome from start to finish. I should also add that I have never seen a cleaner shop, which was very much appreciated during these COVID times. I can certainly understand why the owner is proud to put his name on his business. Besides the fact that we had to take our car back to have the drivers side door panel put back on, and the passenger side head light aligned because it was shining up, and the window tint is the wrong color, and the tint guy cut the tint on the roof of the car leaving a deep scar on the roof, the quality wa equally as bad as when I came from the factory. Tesla is not known for build quality. If they were, I m sure all the new body gaps in the hood and fenders would be much worse. But hey, they are the only close Tesla repair shop so it s not like there is much choice unless you have the time for inconvenience.

My boss arranged to have my back bumper fixed by Chris Amato, with a huge gift certificate I got from him and our staff for my retirement. I didn t know these guys at all, and they re a bit out of my area, but it was worth the drive. At first I suggested that I go to a different place, but my boss only trusts Chris Amato, and now I know why. These guys were friendly, courteous, professional, on time (!!), and the work was superb. I had several conversations with Rickelle, who was always friendly, efficient and helpful. Can t say enough about these guys. My bumper looks fabulous, and I ll be going back there now to get my front bumper and lights fixed. Oh, and they cleaned my car inside and out! I m not easy to please, but I feel I can trust those guys and I know I get excellent work! Couldn t be happier.And I might add - I m 63, and they treated me exquisitely. No age discrimination! Excellent service!

We shopped all over the place for a good paint job when my dad's car got vandalized. The body shop that the insurance sent us to referred us to Carcoa. They were honest enough to tell us that their shop would cost way more than Carcoa, because they do major body work and we didn't need anything like that done. Only the paint was damaged.We checked out other places, but Carcoa gave us the best price by far. They were very friendly, got the car done within the time frame quoted, and did an absolutely excellent job. When we came to pick up this car, it looked brand new.I would recommend them to anyone. We got a beautiful job done for less than anyone else would do and we got the whole car painted, not just a spot-repair.
