For the price pay, it s totally worth it. Will come back next time we drive around that part of California.Pros- Super friendly and helpful staff- Rooms are big, clean and very new- New amenities- Very quiet area yet you will find anything you need within 5 min walk.- Fast internetCons- bed could be more comfy (sprint mattress)- there was some sort of some seeds on one side of bed between bedsheets but it was clean. I assume from when they folded it? I brushed it aside and all good.

A very nice little motel tucked away in a corner of town the quiet, yet convenient. Friendly staff & more than adequate accommodations. Quality linen is used here!Nearby activities: Lots of small town attractions.Walkability: Lodge is conveniently located to access all town activities by foot.

I guess the walls must be super thin or people just don't care about others wish they could of spread people out a bit more one side of lodge was empty and they put everyone next to each other. people above us sounded like they were doing jumping Jack's all night and the people on our right were so loud couldn't go to sleep until after midnight.Walkability: Right at the end of town.. could get around the whole town easily. Great food and very nice people in the area

Very nice hotel for the price. The staff was very nice and the place is well maintained. I have a couple complaints though: the shower curtains looked a bit moldy, the cleaning staff walked in on me without knocking (the door was locked, they unlocked it, this was before checkout time). But overall had a great experience and the pool was great. I was just stopping here for a night with friends on a road trip and this was probably the nicest place we ve stayed at so far.Nearby activities: Cute town nearby with food places and nice shops

I have never ever heard of this place, but I'm very glad I found it. Not only is it super quiet and you can sleep, rooms are clean, service is great, check in was super great, that man is so dang nice, friendly, helpful and informative. pool and surrounding very clean, only few miles from Bodega Bay. This small town has history, everyone you meet is so nice. Not alot of shops, but that didn't matter. The mad hatter shop has things for kids, cute little place. But we found that most places are closed on Tuesday and Wednesday, so plan your trip to arrive in Wednesday and stay till Tuesday morning. That's what I plan to do on my next visit.Safety: There's very very very minimal traffic that runs through this town, motel has security cameras, but don't think needed cuz people are so nice and respectfulWalkability: There's shops, food and 2 little markets directly across the street and if you want a drink or 2 just walk down the driveway and there you go,Food & drinks: Howard's Cafe is good, service is good, you order at counter and literally right after you sit down your food is being brought to you, it's amazing

This lodge is in a beautiful forest setting. The staff was helpful and kind, but the setup of the unit was poor. A used coffee filter was left in the coffee maker. We did not have enough washcloths, and there were no mixing sticks for your coffee.Walkability: We had d a wonderful breakfast at Howard's across the street..

Cute rustic old motel that seems to have recently had some upgrades. We had a superior room upstairs. It was clean and bed was very comfy. Occidental is a charming tiny town in a beautiful pocket within winding roads lined with pastures and small farms and forests. I wish more of California had been able to be preserved like this. Hazel is a lovely small restaurant nearby. And good coffee at the cafe across the street. Fun artsy shops to browse. For the price of this room, I think an addition of some small locally made soaps and bath products would really make it perfect. Just a tiny addition that would add to the regional experience.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The rooms have been updated and are very well done. The room we stayed in was large and clean. It was missing a few accommodations that would have made it nicer, such as a chair to sit on and some pictures on the walls. We wer awaken but the volunteer fire siren which is very disturbing if your not ready for it.The bed was very stiff and for only a few bookings , the hotel was noisy. But most guests respected quite hours.Staff was friendly and knowledgeable of town. Most restaurants are closed for dinner during the week so eat early or bring food.Town is walkable and enjoyable. No issues with parking or access.

Beds are super stiff and rooms upstairs have no noise control what's so ever. My husband and I went on a get away for the night and heard nothing but the upstairs guests pacing back and forth the entire night I kid you not. Idk what they were doing but we heard every step until 4am it was ridiculous for 180$ a night. Especially since there's nothing around there and it's a pretty far drive to the actual beach. Just spend the extra money and stay by the beach rooms are probably nicer too.

The room was clean. The beds are comfortable. The room could be updated. No carpeting please. New wallpaper, a small K-Cup coffee maker would be nice. It would be nice to have more than one toilet paper roll. Noticed the water spots on the ceiling.

Light sleepers beware! Thinnest walls Ive ever encountered. Between video gamer neighbors who fell asleep at 4, elderly neighbors who are up at 6, and a yippy dog down below i did not sleep. Even 3 melatonins and ear plugs could not combat these flimsy walls.

This place was beautifully set on a hill overlooking the town and it was absolutley breathtaking and set the scene for a beautiful trip..Walking up & down that hill after wine tasting was always fun to say the least but such a beautiful place..The rooms were quiet and each room had its own theme. I was able to look into a few of them as everyone staying there was super friendly and very chatable..I absolutley loved staying there and I have no complaints with anything. The beds were super comfy and I slept very well. The. Urchins kept the roo. Dark for the people who like to sleep in..I located the floating peace sign as I enjoyed my morning cup of Joe on the deck while taking in that captivating sunrise..Great destination as there were so many outstanding places to eat and enjoy some great vintages without having to drive far or even drive at all..I would 100% go back and stay here. Definatley recommend.

Great location and friendly staff. Located in the center of town so you can park and walk around easily. If you are a MTB rider this is a GREAT place to visit as you can park in the parking lots in town and ride trails all the way to the beach.Only 20 minutes to Bodega Bay for a beach trip or bite to eat as well.Small unique gift shops and The Barber is very talkative and knows the area well so good source for info if needed.Great historical town.

A perfect room in a perfect little lodge in this cute little town. We arrived well after dark last night so only had a few moments to see the town as we drove straight to the lodge. Can't wait to go poke around the shops and explore the Bohemian Highway. The hotel is nicer than we had hoped for - our king room has some updates and looks like new paint, is very clean, roomy and comfortable, with a tv, mini-fridge, blow dryer, microwave, and a little coffee pot. I never expect much from hotel room coffee, and the only thing about our stay I dont care for is the in-room coffee. There are 5 little packets instead of one pod, so I took a guess that its one packet per cup in the little 5 cup pot. Its definitely a bit watery. The only creamer option is French vanilla and I don't usually drink sweet coffee so - bleck. But again, my expectations are never high for the coffee so not a huge deal.River, the person who checked us in last night, couldn't be nicer or more friendly. He was great on the phone when we called earlier in the day, and very nice and helpful at the front desk.He recommended the cafe across the street for breakfast so we will be eating there - and after checking out the menu online it looks like a goldmine!Overall a great experience at a great price.

My veterans motorcycle group booked 4 rooms for the weekend 4/23 some of us had spouse with us. We are respectful and mindful we know our bikes are loud.. we checked in on Friday. The owner of this property is unprofessional in every way, owner lives on the same property as the hotel and also owns and runs a restaurant in town.... we ate in her restaurant while there she approached our group and stated that we would be charge for any loss of hotel guest due to noise. The owner spoke to us about our gathering on a balcony at 9:30pm on a Friday night, we were not being loud, We ended up dispersing to our separate rooms for the evening. Saturday morning our group was gathered near our bikes discussing our plans for the day, a staff member (per owner) approach us and stated that guest feel disrespected by "us". We were again not being loud, not near a entrance, the only conclusion we have arrived at is we were not welcome as we are a motorcycle group. We are a motorcycle group of VETERANS, we are so disappointed by how we were treated by this owner. I will say the staff was wonderful, they are not to blame for our experience. We did get a refund for our stay and will NOT be returning.

It was nice enough, and reasonably priced. The sound is terrible though, the walls are paper thin...you can hear your neighbor's conversations, bathroom use, and every step. Glad we stayed on a weekday, otherwise we wouldn't have gotten any sleep. Bring ear plugs!

Well .it s not too bad for a two star hotel. It was clean but had this lingering musty smell in the room, could be coming from the carpet? Besides that, the location was good 20 minutes from Doran Beach. The WiFi was not that great, couldn t make phone calls had to text only or use WhatsApp. Positive side is I had a microwave and refrigerator in the room, downside is the microwave was difficult to open. The bed was comfortable the first night, the second night my back was beginning to complain. Overall score: 2.5 it could have been a 3 if the carpet didn t have that issue . Would I come again, probably not but my standards may be different from others.

The lodge itself was fine and the front desk person was friendly and helpful. But although there are five dinner restaurants in town not one was open on the Tuesday night we stayed here. None. And no bars open. And the only breakfast restaurant was also closed (and the lodge doesn't provide any breakfast. So you better bring your own food or come on a weekend or peak season I guess. Very disappointing.

I would categorize this as a motel rather than a hotel. Our room was ample and basic, but it didn't feel very clean, overall, and it had an odor. We were in a double-queen room on the ground floor, and we could hear everything the people above us were doing... even them just walking around seemed exceptionally noisy to us below. The setting of the place was neat... set up high on a hill overlooking the quaint downtown and we heard the church bells chiming the next morning. We wouldn't not stay here again, if the price was right, but I can't give it a stellar review, either.

It's not the four seasons but for the price it's totally worth it. This tiny town is magical and you will have a good time. The swimming pool is not fancy but is in a very lush wild setting which makes up for the crusty dusty chairs. There is an awesome country bar just nextdoor where you will lose your dignity. This is grow territory, hippie chicks and smoke boys abound. The organic natural grocery store across the street is also super rad!

The place was really nice and the majority of the people were as well. However, unfortunately the main person in charge, (the owner) was not a nice person and treated a family member with great disrespect as well as one of her staff members. That was very disturbing which is too bad given the fact that the rooms were pretty good for the most part..

Very nice, same amenities as other Drury locations. Great price, convenient location for travelers needing an overnight stop. Attracts families which is fine if the children are supervised and not allowed to run up and down the hallways and make noise in the middle of the night. Clean, spacious rooms and very reasonably priced.

The staff are very friendly and the rooms are quaint and well cleaned. I have enjoyed my short stay in Occidental because of this hotel! It also pairs with the Sonoma Canopy Tours treetop course. The location is directly accessible upon entering Occidental and is up a small sloped driveway. Room service is friendly and accomodating. They were even able to give us some recommendations for local dining.

Motor lodge..The noise level ruins the place, loud trucks, sports cars street sweepers , back up alarms at 5 30 am , certainly not worth the price! If you want rest... not here. Parking is limited and super tight. The employees don t follow the parking rules!New roof and the railings is an issue, major fire hazard!
