Talked over email with Dennis regarding a vehicle I was interested in, he was very straight forward and friendly. I scheduled a time to come in to look at a vehicle and was out the door with my new car in about an hour 1/2. They even found me better financing after coming in with my own. Yesterday, my car's tire broke. Charles and their team helped me repair it quickly, and their service attitude is very good. They will give you professional advice and solutions. It gives me the feeling that everything is considered for the customers. Thank you

I had an interesting experience in that a major car part was not available to fix my car with only 19,000 miles on it. The service manager Frank kept in contact with me about the status of the back ordered part. The waiting process was 5 months due to issues with the manufacturer. 24 hours after I signed paperwork to have my car bought back by the manufacturer, the part came in. I was confident that the service staff at VW Oakland would take care of the issue for me so I cancelled the buyback. 3 days later I m happily back in my car. Please don t confuse 3 separate entities in these transactions. The dealership, finance company, and manufacturers are all working independently of each other. If the dealership can t repair your car, share your angst with the manufacturer.

I ve purchased my last two cars here, one used and my current new in 2019. Love this place. Friendly. Professional. Responsive. I ve given other dealerships honest opportunities with sales and with service. Oakland beats everybody s price. They just won t be beat. I ve tried because I d rather not drive to Oakland. From Marin to Sacramento to Modesto. They want the volume.Their service department has time when others don t. They have never failed to get me in, even without an appointment and they ve never failed to resolve my issue. Today they gave me a free pair of rain x wipers installed. I didn t ask. They also vacuumed the car and didn t charge me.It s not a fancy dealership. Go elsewhere for that. If you know how to get the lowest price (some of that work is on you) this is where you ll find it. You can trust their service department.On a VW-specific note, I like their cars. It s good tech for the money. If you value your peace of mind, and this is true really with any make/model, the maintenance plan is 110% worth it.

I arrived early, and they were able to complete the service early as well. I was prepared to wait a couple hours, but barely over an hour and the car was ready. The waiting area was clean and had good seating and fast wifi. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience.

VW of Oakland were very professional, transparent and patient assisting me with my EV purchase. They handled all the paperwork for the tax credit and explained the functions of the car. You can feel comfortable working with all the sales staff.

Frank and the entire service team at VW Oakland are simply amazing. Fair and honest in what they do. Authorized them to rotate my tires if needed during my oil change. I could tell they are honest because they told me the tires didn t need to be rotated, so they didn t do it. It would have been an easy add on for them but they did the right/ethical thing.Highly suggest VW of Oakland service department!

Very organized check-in service. I had no idea a ride to home and back was provided which is an invaluable asset for customers. Check-out just as easy. Personally walked to parts department by my check-out person to assist me in a needed purchase. All personnel very courteous, professional, and patient. Easy to do business with Oakland Volkswagen.

Once again Charlie at Broadway vw has totally saved the day. I got in a weird tussle with some concrete street dividers in Berkeley. And I desperately needed my car. I showed up at 7 am the day after and Charlie worked me in for an immediate evaluation. I was out and driving by mid morning. He and his team are knowledgeable, patient and kind. A splendid experience.

Bryan Arnold was our service rep, and we had a fantastic experience (as far as car services go). There were things we thought we needed that we didn't, and there were a few things we did need that were found during inspection that we were glad to get handled.I have been to dealerships and other service centers over the years where I felt like I was probably being sold unnecessary things based on the year of the car rather than mileage, wear and tear and true need, so this experience was refreshing and much appreciated!Handling most of the back and forth via text made it so much easier to track progress and get questions answered quickly, and the VW app for updates and authorizing work is really well organized and efficient. And to top it off, VW of Oakland's arrangement with Uber made logistics of getting to and from so much better than having to use two cars, coordinate rides and arrange the day around the whole affair.Overall, double thumbs up for the entire experience -- thanks, Bryan!

the car that I got was certified preowned that was supposed to be fully checked before selling it (at least that's what the sales people told me). Drove it to work for 3 days (10 miles-ish) and one of the tires went completely flat.

I did email the service dept. about scheduling and never heard back, maybe that email isn't checked much? So then I called in and made the appt. But other than that everything was fine. Everyone was nice. I got my car back when I needed it and was pleasantly surprised by the complimentary car wash.

Bryan is the reason I continue to bring my vehicle to this location and will continue to even when I move. Anytime I come in he stops to catch up and makes sure I have everything I need checked/fixed on my Jetta and will explain what things are and what the estimated cost will be. He never treats my visits like it s a hassle or pain, but makes the experience wonderful every time. His customer service is beyond amazing and I wish I could give him 20 stars! From Bryan to the service techs I ve never had an issue. They are all sweet when interacting with them. Thank you Bryan for always treating me like family when I come in! You are the best!

Charlie and the rest of the team were excellent and I appreciate the help in a stressful situation. Our 2018 Tiguan started overheating on a Friday and I had it towed to the Oakland VW lot that same day. As it was close to closing time, one of service techs working on washing up a car was there and I asked if it was alright to park the car inside the lot instead of the customer lot. He gladly helped and offered a space to park the Tiguan.I left a voicemail and explained that the car was in the lot and if possible, I would appreciate if the car was checked out before my scheduled Wed. appointment. I explained that it was okay if that was not possible. But Charlie came through and our Tiguan was checked out on Monday. It was out and ready to go by Tuesday afternoon. I really appreciate the communication and how fast the team worked at getting this resolved.

Service advisor Tarran efficiently assisted in adding two items onto my service visit that were not initially requested. One required ordering a warranty replacement part and leaving the car two nights. Everything was resolved under warranty or recall. Thanks service department for a wonderful service visit!

Great for the most part but my car showed up with chips in the hood from following some other vehicle when delivering it to my home in Sacto. Otherwise great overall. Concerning, several days later I was following up on a portion of my deal that's was still not fulfilled. I called today, 12-19-2024 and when explaining the need I was greeted by some employee named Jesse with aggressive attitude l, very condescending and he would not even take a message. Told me to call back because he was busy, then actually hung up on me. This is the exact thing buyer's fear from shifty dealers with no interest in u after the papers are signed and car delivered.

I had a truly excellent experience purchasing a new VW Tiguan with the Oakland VW dealership and would recommend them completely. I find it very strange that VW of Oakland doesn t have a terribly low rating. My experiences have been generally unpleasant, and after years of not patronizing them, I had an issue that necessitated a dealership. They were unhelpful and the service person was rude to me. I recommend not going to VW of Oakland if you can avoid it.
