From the very first interaction with Uptown Body & Fender staff, I was welcomed & assured my vehicle could & would be completely repaired. The total experience has been professional & personalized. I would highly recommend this team for professional & quality body repair. Their shop is extremely clean.For those that have small children, they ll love the book library & wooden train toy collection that kids can play with!!!!!

If I could give them 6 or even 10 stars I would! This was my second time needing to bring my car in, both times it had significant damage (not my fault ). The staff (and owner!) are amazing!! Friendly, professional, talented, patient, efficient, and so so helpful. My car looks as good as the day I bought it 7 years ago. I would not hesitate to recommend Uptown to anyone and everyone. Well done! And the fact that it is woman-owned is a serious plus!

Very friendly shop!! Very reliable... Steve is the man to see... my car was there for a year in their shop due to a part on back order.. They were very tuned in with my situation and made me feel at ease with the wait... Kept me updated with everything and got the job done... very grateful...

Uptown is hands down the best experience I've had as a customer - at any business - in years. Our Subaru was rear-ended and required significant body work. Throughout the process, they were honest, fair, responsive, and generous. From giving my spouse a ride home so she could make a work call in time to handling all negotiations with our insurance, they consistently made us feel valued as customers and - sounds silly to say - fellow human beings. For example, when they learned that we were paying out of pocket for the rental car, they negotiated a lower rate with the rental agency! I am happy with the quality of their work, more than pleased with the value, and genuinely impressed by their customer service -- including Giovanna, who is just the best. There's a reason this place has almost 800 reviews and a 4.9 rating. We are customers for life. Thanks Uptown and Giovanna!

Very friendly and helpful service. I had body work that needed to be completed and Giovanna and her team were prompt with parts, labor and provided a great price. I highly recommend this body shop for any small or large project.I hope I don t need more body work done in the future, but if I do, I ll be bringing it back here for repair.

Always feel super well cared for at Uptown Auto Body - a small, woman owned business in Oakland. Work done as expected and on time . And final bill was less than initial estimate! Oh and the coffee is excellent. Thanks for being a part of my community Giovanna and team. You are all amazing! I highly recommend you!

Uptown staff were very helpful and courteous.Since this was my first experience dealing with all that comes with hit and run damage to my vehicle ie repair shop, insurance company and rental car agencies, I was overwhelmed yet Uptown was patient and communicative throughout the 2 week process. And their workmanship was great. A bonus is the cool interior design of the office as well as the beverage offerings.

Wonderful people to work with .very accommodating, reputable and they do great work. My 6 year old car has not looked this good in a long time. I m a returning customer (accidents were not my fault ) and wouldn t hesitate to use their services again if I needed them. They are really a nice group of people.

OMG. Can you say honest, genuine, and feels like family about a body shop?? Seriously, stop looking and take your car here. This was my 3rd estimate for a small repair on my 2014 Mercedes Wagon and they were so transparent and honest. The other two shops were corporate and impersonal, let alone more pricey. This shop said that their computer was showing it was a more involved process than it actually should be. That they would try to save me time and money. After the part arrived, they ended up doing the repair while I waited! Really nice clean shop. And the people are so genuine. Why can t more Oakland business be like this role model of a body shop? I will end with one odd sentiment I had after I left: I left with a weird desire to apply for a job here. Really. I am fully employed at my dream job (I m a music composer) and I still felt like man, it would probably be real pleasant to work here even if I have zero experience in the car body world . That s all I ll say. Cheers!

Uptown is far and away the very best body shop anywhere in the East Bay. The shop is run professionally, the staff is thoughtful and supportive and the bodywork is well documented and done with pride and great attention to detail. Giovanna is a wonderful community leader who gives back in so many ways.

It's almost worth getting in an accident to have your car fixed at Uptown. Giovanna gives you your choice of fancy coffees or tea, provides you with a ride home, and generally takes good care of you like the Italian grandma she is. The people who work there know what they are doing and they stand by their work. I have unfortunately been there more than once, but I would not take my car anywhere else!

Uptown Body and Fender is the best body shop around. Their work is top notch. They are true professionals. Giovanna is a gentle spirit and really understands people. She knows the business inside -out and will take very good care of you and your car. I wouldn't go to any other body shop. I trust Uptown B & F.

As long as I have lived in the East Bay, Uptown is and will be the one and only for me.The level of work quality, warm customer service, absolute integrity and un-matchable knowledge and depth of experience, can't be found elsewhere in Auto Body Work (at least in the East Bay).Giovanna is a Goddess. Seriously.I would be thrilled to find other different small business' that could or would have similar qualities to Uptown. In my experience, it is becoming too much of a rare thing.

The absolute best. They did a great job and even finished ahead of schedule when I told them I had to get the car smogged before Xmas to renew the license. Again, the absolute best. Great people, great service, great performance. Go there!

My Subaru Outback front headlight was cracked and needed to be swapped out. The team at Uptown Body & Gender clearly walked me through the process of getting the work done and had me in an out of the shop within the day. Service at their office was also super friendly and helpful. Would definitely bring my car back to them for repairs in the future!

I was referred to Uptown Body & Fender well over 15 years ago, and I have been using them whenever I need any body work done on my cars since then. The quality of their work is consistently excellent. I just picked up my car after having had it sideswiped when it was parked and it needed a lot of work. It now looks brand new! Their customer service is extraordinary also. They dealt with AAA, arranged for a rental, kept in touch, and made the whole situation as stress free as possible. They also have a unique special touch: the shop has a professional espresso machine and they will make you a cappuccino while you wait. I hope they stay in business forever as I never want to have to go anywhere else! It's such a relief for me to know that when I need body work on my car, which is inherently stressful, that I can count on them.

Someone hit my car and their insurance covered the damage. I took my car to this body shop because it had good reviews and they certainly lived up to that reputation. Very friendly, accommodating and honest. They really care, and went out of their way to make sure everything went smooth. Thank you Uptown!

Wonderful people, quick reliable service, a beautiful shop. How do they keep it so clean? Shuttle service. Rental pick up. And espresso, coffee and tea offered as soon as you walk in. Can't beat this place.

I dropped off my car following a hit-and-run in Oakland. My car is a total loss. The extent of the damage including a broken axle and release of airbags exceeded the actual value of the car, but the attentiveness and compassion I received from the folks at Uptown, especially Steve and Giovanna, was entirely appreciated beyond measure. They did everything they could to make a terrible situation feel a little less terrible.Service: Body & Trim
