On my way home I became concerned about my tires on my truck. Saw this place had good reviews for female pres. folks and went to ask for a safety inspection. Middle of the day, and even though they were busy, the techs very kindly did an inspection for me with no appointment so I could be informed of the things that needed repair and be on my way. They did not try to upsell me on anything or push services. Very honest, respectful, and knowledgeable. Hard to find a mechanic that listens and they were very patient and took into account what I knew about the truck already. They even helped me safely back out of the shop because it is on a busy street. Definitely recommend.

These guys were amazing! Had a water pump fail on my way to drop off our daughter at Cal landed on Sunday night without a clue! Called these guys on Monday morning and they had it ready, including tracking down a back ordered hose, by my daughter s dorm check in time of 11 on Tuesday morning!Such good people and talented too!

On the recommendation of a close friend I took my Jeep to Stauder when it needed work a couple of years ago. Great service, fair pricing, and excellent work. Since then I have had a few things (big and small) that needed work and each time I am pleased that Bob and the crew are able to figure out what's going on and fix it - best of all they really listen to the car owner - who knows the sounds and smells of a car better than the regular driver, right? This last repair diagnosis was a collaboration of efforts on my part and theirs - loved that they were so open to my thoughts, too. Really like it here. Don't forget to ask for the AAA discount!

Want to share my experience -- had an odd bumping/shimmy of the car on the way home, and felt scary enough to stop and have it checked out. Google recommended Stauder as the nearest place. This is 3pm on a Monday afternoon. The people at Stauder were amazing, taking the car for a quick test drive in the shop and then putting it up on a rack to take a look. Turns out the shop that had done previous service had not tightened the nuts on the front tire sufficiently and we had lost 3 out of 5nuts -- I can't imagine if we had lost more. HOWEVER, Stauder redistributed the nuts on all four tires to ensure we could drive the car safely, and did not charge us anything for the work. I am very grateful to Stauder Automotive for this and would heartily recommend them to anyone in the area.

This was the most pleasant trip to the mechanic I think I ve ever had. As a non-car expert female, I dread going to the mechanic but they were super nice and didn t even charge me for attaching a piece of plastic that had come loose from underneath my car. 100% would recommend them!

$285 for an oil change.I went there explicitly because they had a tire rotation included with their oil change. 6� hours of having my car in their possession they only changed the oil. When I asked if they rotated the tires Bob replied "they didn't need it." My tires have been driven 8,000 miles, now I'll have to find an auto shop and pay them to do it because Stauder Auto didn't fulfill the services requested.I cannot recommend this shop. Call for a quote before you go, and make it unquestionably clear what services you want done.

Story time!I was driving on a hilly road and looked at my gauges to notice that the temp was going past normal. It ended up going all the way to hot so I stopped. While I was waiting for AAA a good samaritan stopped and figured out I didnt have any coolant (it's hard to tell the levels in my car because the receptacle is opaque plastic and dirty). He filled me up but mentioned it might be the wrong coolant. So I still got it towed to Stauders after they were closed and left my keys in the dropbox. Next day he text me (which I love, so much easier to communicate when working) and told me the coolant wasn't for Honda but still compatible. So then they watched for leaks and it seemed fine. Didnt charge me for any of this. So happy this joke of a situation ended practically. I was expecting to pay 150+ just for letting my car run out of coolant, but it worked out!

I took my 2000 Nissan Frontier there the other day cause I had been hearing noises from the brakes/ hubs and it was time for a tune up and smog. I was nervous because this could be like opening a can of worms and be the moment i get my head and finances around buying a new truck. When I take it to Nissan for an estimate they quote me a price that is double what the truck is worth. Bob got it that I wanted a safe reliable vehicle, not a new vehicle. It was also a great time for a not so honest shop to make some money.When I went in there my Rhodesian jumped up to the counter and Bob reached in a cup next to him and gave him a biscuit, 1st right move, 2nd was not making me feel cheep and saying that I didn't want a new vehicle just a safe/reliable one.After some minor cleaning they called and the mechanic said he heard a noise form the exhaust manifold. He explained he couldn't tell weather it was a small issue that could wait a while or something bigger that needed to be dealt with right away without taking 20 mn to open it up and take a look. I told him to go for it. They didn't find anything significant and said the breaks were fine. They did not hear the noises I described after driving it around but asked me to bring it by next time I was experiencing that.Two things in life I wish I was as a woman when things break and that's a mechanic and or a handyman. So to find an honest auto shop in my book it priceless. I will go back to Stauder Automotive with my can of worms hopefully for another 3 yrs or so. If you live in Rockridge this is a great shop, local guys. Even if you don't and you want honest service, this is a great shop$168.00 - AAA discount and $15.00 off smog applied, later It was tuned up, smogged and I had piece of mind, and my Rhodesian got another biscuit and I'm sure he will want to stop by to see Bob in the future walking College Ave.

The ease of making an appointment online set the tone for working with Stauder Automotive. Everything was a breeze and I got my car back the same day I brought it in. Great people to work with! I highly recommend!

These guys have been in business in the neighborhood forever. They are good old-line mechanics, though there are some things they won't do (smog my Porsche, for instance). Good and friendly service from Bob. They'll recommend where to go if they can't do the job.

I don't know how I'll look neighbors in the eye and say for the 14+ years I've lived in the neighborhood, I've not taken my car here before! I will not make that mistake going forward. Highly recommend!!!! Found them on Yelp....just feel guilt I have been suckered into the dealership route for so many years!!!!

Truly Great, friendly Honest mechanics! Really the only repair folks I have 100% positive interaction with. Try them out and be amazed as well! A bastion of Integrity in a world where its so hard to find these days Very reasonable prices as well

Friendly, prompt service. Very conservative: never encourages more work than is necessary. I personally feel that I can trust the judgement and the work there.
