This Firestone lost a customer before I even made it through the door. I called and Gerald, who was extremely condescending, answered the phone. Apparently this guy is the Service Manager. He asked for my license plate number- i don't have it memorized. He was complaining that that was easier than typing in the whole VIN and seemed irritated that he had to plug in the VIN. After finally getting through that painful process, he gave me a quote which was less than what the online person quoted me. No problem. The problem was at the end of the call when he told me that I couldn't come in at 3:30 on 3-28, which was when my appointment was for. He told me 3 at the latest. I asked why I was allowed to make an appointment for after 3 if there was no availability. He went on to man-splain why which was bull. I told him i wasn't sure if i could make it by 3 due to work and would get back with them. About a half hour later, i received an email with an updated time of 3 o'clock- which i did not tell him was okay nor did i confirm. Playing games with customers before they're even in the door is the fastest way to lose business. I will be telling everyone I know in the area to stay away. If there is a District Manager reading this- pull up the phone call between Gerald and I which took place at 10:18AM on 3-27-24 and you will hear exactly what i'm talking about. Gerald is the definition of "good help is hard to find".

The actual repair work was fine and I have a lifetime alignment policy and free tire rotation since I bought my tires at Firestone. I've been going to that Firestone location for many years for basic repairs and oil changes.However, I brought my car in at 10 am with an appointment (I took a bus home since they said the car would be ready about 3:00) and it was barely ready at 6:00 p.m. (just an alignment and rotation). When I called at 4:00 p.m. they told me it might not be done at all that day! Another woman there had brought her car in at 7:00 a.m. and we were both waiting at 6:00 p.m. it appears they overbooked their appointments all the time and even if you have an appointment you may or may not get your car the same day. This is a problem that the staff mentioned to us and that corporate is not addressing. They should be able to estimate the time for basic repairs and not overbook to such an extent. Scheduling and timely repair seems to be an ongoing problem.

I called to make an appointment this morning and was told to come on down for a 10:30 am slot. My car would be done at 1:30. I show up and there s a lot of cars here. I call at 2:19 and find they haven t even started on my car yet because they had to wait for a part for the car ahead of me. If that s the case they should have started on the next car while waiting for the part. All I needed was an oil change and wheel alignment. I come back at 4:49 and the car is still not yet finished. If they were too bemuse to work on my car today they should have told me to come a different day. Not great with their scheduling! I was also told that 2 of my tires need replacing but I had just had them checked at another tire center and they told me those tires were fine. Not very happy with this Firestone location. Th ey are always late.

The most terrible service I have ever received. See photos of my supposed to be brand new tires and the great greasy hand prints on my classic car. on top of all that was charged for an alignment service that they did not perform or refund me for. This was done April 8th 2023 its April 20th 2023 and I'm still trying to get my refund.Service: Tires

My only hesitation from ranking them as a 10 is that their waiting area was completely full and the time waiting to have my spare tire mounted was over 3 hours. On the other hand I was treated very well, things were clean and organized and the price seemed quite reasonable to me. I crept into their service bay on my newly flat tire and they agreed to help me even though they were clearly overbooked already.

The team specifically Greg Williams were great. My car was finished when they said it would be. He explained everything and was nice enough to wait for me when I arrived a few minutes late to pick up my car. I will come back again and recommend to friends.

Nathan, the young tech who bravely took on the plug of a tire that had been impacted by a large bolt, at 5:15pm, minutes before closing, was efficient, skilled and knowledgeable. Gerard at the front desk was kind, friendly and genuine and not trying to upsell. Overall extremely impressed with the professionalism and level of care and service.

Unbeatable product, misunderstood service. Appointments mean nothing, schedule appointments at 7am and expect the car to be there all day. Just leave and come back later.Went there for their lifetime warranty wheel alignment. Made the mistake of scheduling not at the crack of opening, and waited 3 hours(said it would take 3 hrs max) walking around with my 3 yr old son and they didn't even start on the car. I was so frustrated I just rescheduled for the earliest possible appointment later in the week. This is what the technicians suggested I do, as they just get busy and cannot stick to the time they say they can work on your car. When I did this, my car was done in under 2 hours, no problems.Long story short, only schedule at 7am or don't bother. And lower your time expectations.

My car die on the driveway. AAA came for a jump start but suggest that I get my car charging system check, because it could be an alternator that need replacement?I always take my car to the Friestone for the last 30 yeras, since I am out of towner therefore I decided to stick with Firestone.Greg in Oakland Broadway suggest a $49 all charging system check but the technician didn't find any fault in the charging system, instead of charging me $49, Greg only charge me $10 for his technician time.I was there for 3 hours (i am from out of town and i need to wait for my service) i listen to everything Greg talk to his customers over the phone. he is very PPPP polite, patient, professonal and personal to all of the callers. He will do his best to save them money and offer them alternative but not short sell them on safety.Very niec guy!

This was ok place. Even with an appointment, you had to wait two hours for services. But the the staff was polite and friendly. They were very helpful in getting me to know what was best for my vehicle.

Worst place ever. Came in for a simple patch up on the tire. Waited two hours. Then worker asked if I was tipping them as I paid my $30 to allegedly plug up my tire. Left. Light remained on. Parked the car. Came back an hour later. Tire pressure still at 15 psi. Car was not actually patched up. They took my money and didn t do a damn thing.Please check you car before you leave. This place is a scam.

(4/19) I am EXTREMELY upset. I made an appointment for new tires. I called 2 days before to confirm the appointment and the Store Manager (Greg) answers, tells me that they do not take appointments at 3pm so I asked him to change it to 2pm and he agreed. I get to the shop at my assigned time JUST to find out the tires are not there. I WAS LIVID and conveniently Greg is off. I explain my grievances to Gerald (great employee) and he apologized. I had driven an entire hour, rushing, to get to my appointment and the tires were already paid for. Now, not only do I not have the tires I paid for, I have to reschedule my appointment which is more time I am wasting. Greg should've have told me that the tires weren't there. I appreciate Gerald because even as I was yelling, he kept his composure and didn't react or take it personal.(4/21) Went back this morning (7:00am) still unhappy. Firestone does NOT care about customers. It s about money so I m gonna treat them how they ve treated me.Service: Tires

Hello this is the most dangerous company I went an got my vehicle serviced after I left an went home I tryed to brake an literally my foot went all the way down an I couldn't stop I crashed into the wall it's scary thinking about this company an the service they provided the Oakland store 2850 Broadway is a dangerous place please do not go there I have a complaint in on this location I'm going all the way to court

Be aware!!! This is a fair review.The only reason why they recieve one extra star is because they've given a fair compensation for customer satisfaction.COMPROMISE OF SAFETYThe matter of the issue is that our rims were bent, and we were not told, yet they went as far to "take a picture" yet, they still changed the tire, and our tires were leaking afterwards.He gave us the explanation that, since the rim was "pre-bent" with the old tire, it was able to hold its shape therfore not causing a leak, BUT the issue is that our center cap where the logo was held, was missing afterwards. My partner suspects that why would a rim come out bent, logo cap missing, and the tire leaking air coincidentally after it was maintainenced. He believes that the rim was bent at the store. Which is unknown.ISSUE OF PRINCIPAL NOT TECHNICALITYThe issue is not whether the rim was bent before or after. It's that, we were told of this issue UNTIL my partner had called to complain the rim was bent. This is a major concern of safety. If we were aware of this issue prior we would have known it was our negligence of the rim, and would have had that serviced as well.In a restaurant setting. When items come out hot, yes everyone including the customer knows that it is hot. BUT it is the servers responsible to warn and to caution the customer is hot...and I'll just say that, those customers who were incompetent, burned themselves, because their server did not warn them. That is the responsibility of the restaurant, and that is their liability. Those who were not warned were sued.That being said, it is not our job as the customer to bring up these issues AFTER the service was finished. If my partner had not brought it up, Firestone would not have said anything. Whether they felt that it would "cause an issue or not" that is not Firestones judgment to make. If compromises our safety and that we had the right to know. Firestone is lucky we caught it before an accident.It genuinely concerns us as customers and drivers that businesses are willing to service customers for profit regardless of concerns for their safety. We admit that it was our negligence and that we should have checked the reviews prior to working with them beforehand. We will not be working with them again.

I went here TWICE at my scheduled appointment time only to be told my appointment had been rescheduled without anyone telling me.Or, to be totally fair the second time they DID email me (two minutes before my scheduled appointment time and after I had already arrived).Both times the woman at the front was not apologetic or helpful & simply said it s the systems fault .I will not be returning! This is such a shame as they re the only Firestone near me.Service: Brakes

They called to confirm they had the high performance tires I ordered but ddn't call to let me know they in fact didn't have them. Took off work and wasted a full morning. If you can call and confirm you can call and cancel. Total waste of time. Avoid this place. Does not deserve even one star.

Friendly, courteous, usage coupons, fee negotiable, labor cost high, overall they are fee competive in the short period of time that I sought thier car services. It's good to know their affiliates: Tire Works, Tire Plus, etc. I do recommend that if it's a major repair consult with a car dealer due to labor fees.

I had an appointment at 8am today & when I got there no one was there, it was closed with no explanation. I waited about 20 minutes before I left but they were supposed to have been open at 7 so I m extremely unhappy about driving all the way there only to find it closed.

I come here often for "nail in tire" situations along with tire replacements and alignment. Waiting lobby if you want to wait. Food truck right next door at Grocery Outlet and other stores available. Very good service and highly recommend. Google search shows it's "permanently closed" but they are still open for business. Their lease was renewed for another 5 years.

I got stranded in Oakland after getting a flat in my new car, I had a very POSITIVE experience after James and Gerald at the Firestone fixed my tire issue in under 30 minutes I highly recommend this place for friendly great service! Take Note: Many new cars don t come with a spare or tools. Instead they come with a fix It can of sealant :(Service: Tires

Store hours on Google are absolutely false. Google said they were updated a week ago and that they would be open this morning at 9 am. I got my car towed here and no one is there or answering the phone and there are no hours posted. I called a Berkeley Firestone and they said the Oakland location is closed on Sundays even though I have an appointment on the website. It seems like it may be a staff retention issue, but at the end of the day Firestone is not managing their brand. Last time I ll be coming to any Firestone unless they find a way to make this up.

If you bring your car in early in the morning, it'll be ready in the afternoon. What more can you really ask for? The customer service is just ok. They are busy as hell. The parking sucks. You might not be able to get them on the phone. When they are done with your car they'll just park it wherever. But if you gotta get a tire changed in downtown Oakland, you can do that here.Services: Tires, Oil change

Made an appointment for the alignment about 10 days ago....Ms. Criselda was there, very polite and professional, she checked the tires and told me to wait and it could take a while because short of staff.. totally understood...She called about 2 hours later and the car was ready. Excellent services. Thanks,
