This is the only place I ll ever go to get my car fixed! I recommend to all my friends and family! Matt knows his cars, his pricing is always fair and customer service is always amazing! I ve been coming to Alameda Import Automotive shortly after they moved to their Oakland location (about 7-8 years ago) and Matt is my go to mechanic. I got a new car and when I needed my inspection done, I went to him and immediately felt at home again. Thank you for always providing suck excellent service!

Matt is my go to mechanic. We get all of our work done on both our 2019 Acura and our 2007 Honda. They are honest mechanics that are thorough and do not gouge their customers. Matt is excellent. Helped me and my partner out of 2 different tough jams with our respective cars. Doesn't just tell you what you want to hear, is completely honest (even when he could get more money out of you). competitive prices. Also very friendly to boot.

I have been coming to Alameda Import Automotive since they were located near the Alameda naval base! Matt, the owner, really loves car repair and he's perfectly suited to his job. I have never felt pressured or stupid when dealing with Matt. He's really patient when explaining what needs to be done, and also why something doesn't need to be done. If you've had a less than positive experience with other car repair shops, I recommend giving AIA a try for your next car repair need!

Matt is a very conscientious owner. He runs a very friendly and competent gang. They get the work done with no frills. He's located in a very sketchy neighborhood, but his prices are excellent.

Matt and crew are my go to for auto knowledge & assistance! Have had numerous positive experiences and highly recommend to anyone. Matt is very generous with sharing what might be at issue with your vehicle & offering realistic solutions (for instance rather than try and up sell any services he readily recommends at-home solutions because I am comfortable with performing minor upkeep and repairs myself. If he recommends it I definitely take his advice and hand over the advanced work to him!). Very easy to get a hold of Matt via phone or text with the number listed on their business. Thanks for being so awesome!

Best mechanic experience ever. I brought my 2010 Prius in for an oil change and to be checked out after a long time between services. Matt was very thorough in his explanations with me, offered me a ride to BART, and called me during the service to ask if he could do additional, necessary labor. He treated me with the utmost respect. He was very transparent in his assessment and explained things clearly. I left feeling like he was 100% with me, which goes a long way. All my car's needs will be done by Matt and his team from now on.

Matt is a personable, capable, and honest mechanic. I have a 2011 Honda Odyssey that needed lots of engine and body work. Honda dealer estimate came at over $6000. Matt and his crew fixed the minivan perfectly in under 24 hours for under $1500. Highly recommended, great experience overall.

These guys are the only folks I ve let touch my car since I discovered them about 5 years ago. I cannot say enough good things about them. They re super honest, prices are fair, work is always reliably good, I ve never felt taken advantage of or talked down to because I m a woman, and they have a really fluffy garage cat who will let you pet her while you wait. Everything about this place is great.

Been taking my van and my car here for years. Matt and the team are very good. Thorough and honest. I recommend this shop highly.Do be advised it s in a in a rough neighborhood. Matt commissioned some of the graffiti art in the neighborhood!

Matt is such an honest and helpful mechanic! I was on my way to LA, and had some car troubles so I had to get my car towed to his shop in Oakland. He showed me how to fix it temporarily, so I could drive to LA that night and get it fixed once I got home to LA. All of this without charging me anything! I even called him when I got to LA to ask what a reasonable price is to pay for the repair. He's sincere, helpful, and I would highly recommend him!

They as serviced my GTI for $1200 for the radiator.. and I was about to take it back to fix the water pump.. the owner Matt didn't seem too receptive over the phone when I stated that the parts installed may be defective as it began leaking coolant leaking coolant again. You then read off the file on my car stating that I needed windshield wipers and an oil change with was not even relevant to the issues?!*Ps.. somebody there even stole my temperature sensor parts I had in my cup holder which I actually noticed before I left but didn't say anything. Talk about sticky fingers in A sketchy area.**I will not be returning nor would I recommend this shop.. albeit they may be knowledgeable in fixing cars but their integrity and customer service leaves little to be desired. Prices are on the high side so get ready to bend over.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine diagnostic

I m very glad I found this place, as they are efficient, honest, and get you back on the road safely as quickly as possible. I never have to wait long or leave my car overnight, as their customer service is top notch. They are upfront about the cost and very competitive in pricing. I have no doubt that Alameda Import treats all customers with respect for their time and budget.

Excellent service and very friendly! My car broke down on the way home from Oakland, I live in San jose. I was unable to bring the car personally, but they worked with me and a tow truck driver was able to bring it on my behalf without me initially being there. Best of all, I finally figured out what's wrong with my car after months of struggle!

Matt saved me $200.Dealership said I needed rear brake pads and rotors and when he looked at it said my rotors were just fine.He was able to diagnose a mistake that another shop made, which had resurfaced my front rotors, which causes anow a pulsating breaking pattern... He showed me photos and went into great detail to explain why resurfacing is never a good idea and probably wasn't necessary in the first place.He will definitely have my business going forward.Don't let the neighborhood or location put you off his facility is secure. He even prioritized my car so that I could keep a flight that I had scheduled.

These guys rule! They have an office cat, they're honest, forthright, and do a very thorough job. They even noticed some issues with the car and gave us an estimate for what it would take to fix at no extras charge. They're awesome, a little out of the way maybe, but the shuttle is great. I might even go back after having moved out of Alameda because of how great they are.

Starting comming here when I had problem with another shop doing poor work. Matt has been nothing but helpful and is super knowledgeable. He shows us the problem, and then shows what he fixed when he was done. Pricing is fair. But service is everything and this is our go to place for our cars now. Thank you for the honesty we truly appreciate all you have done.

Matt and his team serviced my vehicles for a couple years and I was highly impressed by their level of service and flexibility in getting the job done. His prices were tough to beat compared to other shops. I felt as though I understood my own vehicles decently well in terms of what caused need for repair, however, he earned my money as he knew the vehicles better than I did. He seemed to get to a repair solution on a reasonable budget and then teach me what was going on under the hood. Later I found out that he also hired high school students from local auto shops classes as shop assistance. It provided these students the opportunity to get paid for what they were going to school for and get technical mentoring in the process. Very cool.

Matt and his crew are awesome! They helped me through fixing my old car with parts that weren't easy to find, where the parts supplier was a bear to work with. They really went out of their way for me. Couple of bonuses -- when you call you almost always get an answer..no messages and back and forths. And, they're small enough to provide the individual attention of a small shop but still have plenty of mechanics so work gets done quickly. Alameda Import is really great!

I've seen this business grow form near inception. From simple repairs, major ones and check-ups, organization, diagnostics, I've seen it all, thumbs up. My 2012 Sequoia needed some deferred maintenance, and Matt and his team took care of it perfectly. He explained my options clearly, scheduled the work, and kept to that commitment, and when there was a minor hiccup, took care of it. Five star service, clearly explained.
