We are EXTREMELY Satisfied with the repair and rebuilding of the transmission of our "work truck". We have called several shops for quotes on the service and we decided to pick AAMCO Transmissions, Oakland ,as Kareem was very knowledgeable and asked the right questions on the issues of our failed transmission of our "work truck". The Price quoted was very reasonable and guaranteed to rebuild the transmission all with OEM Parts with 2 year warranty that is transferable even with a new Owner . Kareem Promised 7 business days turnaround time to do the job.... and got a call today that our "work truck " is ready , and it only took 5 business days . We are happy that we got our "work truck" earlier than what was promised ...The service quality was truly exceptional and I highly recommend this auto repair shop :-)

We had our transmission and engine replaced at this AAMCO and are pleased with the service we received. We dealt with Kareem, the shop s owner, and he was communicative and friendly throughout the transaction. He went above and beyond to make sure we were satisfied with the outcome. He readily answered our questions and responded promptly to our inquiries, both when we visited the shop in person, as well as by phone and by text. He really wanted to make sure we were happy, we ve had our car back for a couple weeks now, and it is running great.Service: Transmission

AAMCO station on Brook street in Oakland, has your back. I was surprised how hard it was to find a knowledgeable repair shops that cared about the customer and not just the payment. The staff are all professional in their craft. They enjoy seeing you satisfied with the work that they do, and that makes you feel like I have found a shop for all my auto repairs. And I don't need to look around anymore. That's the type of people you want working on your car. AAMCO is number 1.

They did a amazing job the last time I was here so I came back for another Transmission service the price did Go up But The manager did work with me ONLY Because I was Given the Wrong Price when I 1st Arrived & It took over 6hr to do my car they didn't have my parts but I am Very Happy with there service I will Be back Next year

My car is plays a large roll in my job. No car means I can t effectively do my job. Finding out your car isn t operational & needs expensive repairs is a jagged pill to swallow.AAMCO made taking that jagged pill like drinking a warm cup of cocoa. The staff was knowledgeable, efficient, helpful and compassionate.I can t thank them enough for the patience they had with me. My brakes failed and my car was sputtering, so I had it towed to AAMCO. Kareem and his team took good care of it, and they were able to determine that there was a problem with my manifold intake. I bought my 2017 Kia Forte for a check engine light and I appreciate the honesty of what was wrong with my car! I love love love how my deposit goes towards my work for my car which definitely helps when you re on a budget and everything is sky high in pricing now days! I appreciate the customer service I was giving, the great communication of updates pertaining to my vehicle and since the work wasn t able to be fully completed they were honest and honesty goes a long way with me!!! Definitely recommend this AAMCO team! My car began making a mysterious sputtering noise. Kareem and team were able to figure out, front suspension was worn out, plus a ball joint. Kareem took time to discuss the pros and cons about staggering the replacements and what made sense to fix first, so I could still drive safely and reduce wear on the car. As a single woman visiting a mechanic shop, I really appreciated the frank honesty and collaborative approach - not the shady upsell with half-truths I've gotten at so many other places. I had my car towed in late February after transmission totally failed they rebuilt the transmission and the car is performing better than I ever remember. I highly recommend Kareem, & the AAMCO team, for your transmission needs! Kareem was knowledgeable about our unique transmission (CVT), and he did not try to up-sell or take advantage of us. He actually took the time to explain the pros and cons about rebuilding vs replacement. Extremely helpful, timely, and diligent. Kareem-- in particular-- not only saved my car (and me) by replacing the entire transmission, but he also fought on the phone with the warranty company to get them to eventually cover it (as they should've agreed to in the first place but were not). Kareem thank you so much, your was a blessing. They took my warranty and they finish my car in 4 days to repair my engine, axle, and one thing that's was broken. He also gave me a discount, he was so nice and professional at all times. If you feel like you need to check your engine go here don't think about it. These men in this shop deserve a better than what Google is give them. If you don't have warranty on your car they do give you a options on loan services as well. My 2014 Lexus ES 350 had transmission issues, and I had quotes from 3 different places. AAMCO had the best rate as well as the longest warranty available (I was offered 2 years of warranty).The exact quote I had for the total transmission fix was $4971 (including the $100 cash back and credit card fee for the initial inspection fee, which was used to buy down the total transmission cost.). Inspection fee was $195.62 (this includes CC fee of 2.X% that I forgot) and the total service fee was $4776 (which included $100 discount as mentioned above).For reference, other places had roughly $5500~$6500 quote with 6 months of warranty.So it was no brainer for me to go with AAMCO. It took about 2 weeks to get the transmission fixed, but after getting the car, I heard a loud clicking noise whenever I revved up the RPM and also when the car was slowing down. It was so annoying that I had to bring the car back in for the service, and as the car was under the warranty period, they took care of the car.After the second time, I heard no noise anymore, and the transmission doesn't jerk as it used to before the fix.Overall, there were some hiccups with the initial fix, but given that they had the best quote and the best after-service & longest warranty, it's kind of a no brainer to go with AAMCO for your costly transmission fixes.Kareem and Mr. Lee were awesome! Would recommend to others. Also give them ample time to fix your car, to avoid any secondary visit that might result in a rushed job.Service: Transmission

I appreciate Kareem and his team for fixing the problems to my corolla. It needed extensive work and Kareem helped out by letting me know what could wait to be fixed and what needed attention asap so my car would run great but not empty my pockets. They stayed true to honoring warranties and did a great job overall.
