The staff at this location are always really great. Not always the best at what they do (a few months ago, they did an oil change. later that day, the check engine light turned on. I went in and they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I brought it to a mechanic- a hose was loose, should've been an easy thing for them to notice) in any case, they were really nice about trying to figure it out.Recently, I went in because my maintenance light and my tire sensor light was both on. They checked my tires for me and cleared all of the lights - I didn't need maintenance yet.It does get busy here sometimes, but when they're not busy, they get you in and out really quickly.

Been going here for a few years for oil changes on our cars. First issue was when we went in for a tire rotation and one side was very clearly not rotated. Just a few days ago I went in for a my oil change on a different car and asked for them to check my tires and fix them to the right pressure. Very next day my low tire pressure light turns on and the next day my car battery light turns on and the car dies in the middle of the street twice. I have had no previous issues with the battery before that. Will not be coming back.

The staff here were the most professional people I've ever interacted with at an oil change. I believe the people who serviced my car were Jesus A., Giovanni, and A.B. I include their names in case management reads this review. They should know what a great job their workers do. They were thorough, speedy (I was there less than 15 mins), and so respectful. I would go out of my way to give them my business next time.

When I arrive to get maintenance work done, there was a long line to get service done. The staff were quick to greet me & communicate effectively of the expected wait time and turnaround time of service requested. Was able to get my oil change, tire rotated, power steering fluid replace, & fuel system clean faster than expected. Staff were friendly & professional. Would recommend to friends n family to get service done here!Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Tires, Oil change

Have always used this shop 10 + years but no more. Last time through I got a call asking me to come back so they could put my factory skid plate back on. Today I had an hour to get oil change, 3 cars in the bay I was third in line so figured 40 min until they started with me. Waited 20 minutes not a single gar exited the bays. Last time it was almost 30 minutes from start to finish. They seem fully staffed but they move from car to car do one thing then move to the next.

I have had to replace my interstate battery 3 times in 2 years. These men and women need more training. All these costly mistakes and they don't offer a discount when they caused an error. No reason to use a high powered tool on a battery or on oil pan. You ruined the oil pan on one of my cars which cost me over 900 to replace it. And you ruined a $200plus battery by torc wrench not only battery posts but terminals also. You had to go to O'Reilly's to pick up the part to finish installing new battery.

My boyfriend brought his car in, i had bought him a groupon nelson did an amazing job and was extremely attentive and honest and not pushy about buying things, he would recommend what we needed but not push on it. He was very thorough and definitely went the extra mile. I am extremely satisfied and will be returning here again. Even though it is a bit of a travel from Rohnert Park i dont mind driving from RP to Novato.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Oil change

Of all the oil change places I've been to (and I've been to a lot, as an Uber driver) Valvoline is hands down my favorite. They're fast, friendly, and efficient and the way they shout all the commands clearly to thier co-workers is not only fun but probably avoids mishaps. I've been to several, and I can always find the same level of service at any of them.

I got an oil change at Valvoline Novato on 7/21/21 and was very impressed with the team spirit and efficiency of the staff. I had to wait for a while due to a truck in the bay ahead of me. The manager explained the delay and when I could expect to be served. While waiting, the staff came out and checked tire air pressure, and that headlights / tail lights were working. There was a ton of loud, good natured communication going on between the "under-the-hood" staff and the "under-the-car" person below who was draining the old oil. I could tell that this was a well managed business that treats their employees well and inspires strong teamwork. I will definitely be back.Service: Oil change

I I got an oil change at the Diablo Ave Valvoline this morning I drove 200ft and my car died. The red check engine light came on. I went back to manager and she told me it is basically my problem. I would have to get it towed to a mechanic and if they caused the problem, they pay for it. They didn t even offer to call a tow truck or help me move the car. I had to get a bunch of Good Samaritans to help me push the car into a spot. Do not go to this place! Incredibly awful customer serviceService: Oil change

I had an excellent experience today. The people there are wonderful hardworking. Everything went well. I couldn't have asked for more. Everything they did on the car was told to me, where I understood what they recommended. Going back to them in the future.

Unprofessional. Went in for a oil change, hours later noticed my car was making a funny sound. Popped the hood to find out my hood strut was broken and placed back like nothing happened. Went in to let them know what happened said they would have to look at cameras and would call me back on Tuesday. A week past and no call. Went in to be told it was already broken. That s funny because my car wasn t making a sound before the oil change. Got told it s ONLY a $3 part and I can fix it myself. Unbelievable never go back again

Very informative, excellent customer service. No pressure to add on services. Recommendations are just that. They go above and beyond to make sure get excellent service. The whole staff says goodbye as you leave. Makes it a more personal service

So let's do a detailed insiders review of this location. When you pull into this location you are supposed to be greeted by the time your tires stop. Now after a light inspection and when the hood is open is where problems usually arise.Equipt in every vehicle is a engine air filter. Now since Valvoline isn't experienced based and more customer service motivated. This area incurs damages alot, fluids are looked at but seldomly explained to the guest let alone staff . Tire gauges are set to whatever psi because there are few employees that are familiar with mechanic tools.When it comes to the tire rotation you should go somewhere else 29.99 sounds like a deal when it comes to tire rotations but there are four parts to a tire rotation.Valvoline only sets the tire from front to back so eventually your tires will settle back to its original position by the second visit if you get a rotation.The suggestions aren't all pulled up from the manufacturer . Power steering fluid and radiators are all Valvoline suggested, now if you want an AC charge they only do this service on the east coast and serpentine belt replacements arent taught of at all.Now to below your vehicle, most cars , trucks or SUV come with a skid plate. Skid plates are used to protect the bottom of the vehicle from rocks and debris from the road hurting your engine.Most skid plates have 4 main bolts but their are exceptions to this BMW usually have over 4 bolts along with fiat , first etc. Since this is a difficult part to both take off and reinstall alot of people at this location just throw it away or don't completely finish installation.Since the focus is on customer service things like wiping down frame oil because that's a part of the service kinda died with full-time hours due to covid19. The prices are high because of the extra services. Even a basic oil change costs around 80 dollars unless you groupon or have a friendship with the manager of the location because Valvoline is a corporation from the east coast.A lot of time at this location is spent on employee moral being diminished . If you seek growth opportunity it sounds great on paper with this company, put into action though you could be working hard for 9 months and all it takes is a call to corporate to end your career with no explanation.It's important to realize these companies care only for the dollar especially if employees are expendable , during this covid outbreak it was a pleasure getting vehicles serviced for the greater soma county and I will always be thankful I learned the knowledge that I now know. This review is for this location to improve what they know are problems. So that guests aren't left in the dark about what's going on with their dollar when it comes to Valvoline.

Knew what they were doing. Staffed well and they got me in and out without even exiting my car. Would definitely make it a routine visit when getting anything done to my car! So convenient for a mother of 3!

Waited in line to learn that they didn't have my oil filter in stock. Manager gave me coupon but says filter could be out 3 more weeks .

Convenient, effective and efficient. Fun group of fellas here and quick. Just pull up, park in the bay, and they get right on it. I had lunch while they worked on the car and not long after I was ready to roll. Thanks guys
