Kevin was very helpful in getting me a quick and accurate quote for wheel balancing and brake inspection. They got the work done in 30 minutes and the price was very reasonable. Great place and definitely recommend. I'll be back in the future.

Richard is one of the best managers I ve encountered and worked with in Pep boys. I ve been to several different Pep Boys locations and by far he is the BEST - he s very reliable and sincere and he will tell you exactly what s the issue down to earth without playing around with the price or anything. If you have any issues with your car, please go to Newark location and find him. I highly recommend!

5/5 star service! Been bringing my Lexus and two other vehicles to this location for the last five years after a friend recommended I try them out. Compared to some other local mechanics I found Pep Boys Newark to be very reasonable in terms of price, honest, and they can do just about anything. Highly recommend!

Some light was flashing on my dash board and had to show to a mechanic near by, went to pep boys and was able to fix the issue within 20 mins.Just to read the warning light they charged me around 100$ which is expensive but looks like that s the norm.

I had the worst customer experience of my life at Pep Boys. They don't care about appointments. They've repeatedly kept my car for an entire day for a simple oil change, only to inform me at 6 pm that I'll have to bring it back another day. This is apparently the company's culture because it happened to me at least three times across different locations.When I attempted to report these issues to the Pep Boys corporate office, they refused to take my complaint, they said " we don't deal with this"!! What company is this!!I've even torn up my prepaid maintenance plan, worth $500, rather than return to Pep Boys. I would rather lose that money than deal with their incompetence and lack of customer service.Avoid Pep Boys at all costs and find a more reputable auto shop. Their services are not worth the hassle."

We had a flat tire right by the shop. I called looking for a donut, which they didn't have. They called me right back and said they can replace right then. Got is out in 15 minutes with a new tire. Great staff.

The staff were very professional. When I took the car for 40,000-mile maintenance, they discovered the problem with the brake system in time and solved it perfectly. After some additional work, the problem of my car's stalling at starting has now been resolved.

They did not honor the quote they gave me on the telephone. The service advisor seemed inexperienced did not reset my service engine light initially and then had to watch a bunch of YouTube videos on how to do that. Also, gave wrong advice on the frequency of oil changes as well as on the need of a brake fluid exchange also wasn t very well versed with my car(BMW) at all

I am not happy for the last service done. I need to change the back break pad but they did the diagnosis and asked me to go to Uniton city store because they don't have the expertise and asked me to pay $75 for wheel nuts which they broken while removing the wheel. If you know you don't have the skill to fix break you should have been asked me to go to another store in the first place rather wasting my time and money.

The customer service is terrible. I ve been wait for a couple of days to fix the battery problem in my Honda Odyssey and it is still not done yet. One staff even hung up the call when I asked about my car. They keep postponing the pickup time day after day.

Walked in for a tire repair. Richard made note that the tire couldn t be repaired and was able to replace my tire quickly for a walk in.Very good customer service !!

Mauricio, Kevin and the team was quick to work on my car and were knowledgeable. They tried to suggest multiple options for repairs. The cost was reasonable compared to the other car servicing and repair places in the area.

On a rainy day, I called to make an appointment for a battery replacement because it was raining heavily. I was going to park inside and give them the keys to replace the battery. A worker suddenly came up to me and yelled at me, saying I was driving fast and that I shouldn't have parked inside. I was probably doing less than 10 mph. I explained that I had made an appointment to change the battery, but he still had a very bad attitude. I wouldn't dare to give my car to them for repair. I would rather spend more money to go to another store than to give my car to someone with such a bad attitude. If you think a person with such a bad attitude can repair your car well then you should go. Ps: I found that there are also comments from others that this clerk has a very bad attitude, and if the store does not make changes, no more customers will come here for repairs.

Brought my car in early one morning to have a screw pulled from my tire. Although I didn t have an appointment, John and Matt provided outstanding service and were able to get me back on the road in about 30 minutes. I m very lucky to have a Pep Boys location so close to where I live, and I won t hesitate to use them for any and all future tire repairs/replacement. Highly recommended!

The worst experience I've ever had at a car shop. I work for uber, so I needed an inspection. The guy didn't even want to inspect my car. He didn't have time? At 10:00am.....Then all of a sudden I, can leave it all day for a 20 minute inspection! He made every conversation (3) very uncomfortable on purpose. I decided to wait because there is no closer inspection center.At the end of all this he intentionally put the wrong date on my inspection so I would have to come back! And lose money form work.

Doing my Uber car inspection here and the technician forgot to stamp my page,I called in to see if there is anything they can do,I don't live nearby. The receptionist told me that any pep boys shop can stamp for me just bring the receipt to them.And I went to the one in Union City,they said every station has their own stamp and number,only can stamp at the original location. Wasted me lot of time and gas. Unprofessional.

I took and appointment of 3.30 pm and I got a call and told if I will not be there by 3 pm they will not service my car. seriously my appointment is for 3.30 how can you say that. My appointment was for standard Oil change which generally cost around 30-40$ and I been told they only have platinum synthetic option and I end up paying 100$. After service they generally go through the inspection report but not anymore which is horrible. after work done I am noticing some noise in my car. Surely this is my last service with PepBoys.

I called and asked Ryan if I could come down and he said absolutely. John assisted me with the check in and to see when they could take care of my car and check it out. I'd say within 10 minutes my car was in the bay doing an AC check and adding freon. My car was finished less than 20 minutes and I was off in a cool car again.Thank you Pep boys 4 excellent attention to the customer and serviceKen SteinService: Air conditioning

I rented a car at the airport when I arrived to visit family in the area. I woke up on Saturday morning to discover a nail in the rear tire. The car rental agency only has the airport rental open on the weekend. Instead of driving to the airport on a donut spare, this shop repaired my tire and did not charge me anything! Service was friendly and courteous. The work was superb and I was on my way! Thank you Pep Boys! I am a fan of your shop! I highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for great service! Thank you! I came down and had some work done on my truck I needed a tune up an oil change, brake inspection And a leak in my AC. I was blown away when the mechanic John called me and asked me to come down to the shop he wanted to show me what was exactly wrong with my truck. He pointed out all the issues that I had, he got my truck backup and running within a couple of days, In the 40 years I've been driving I've never had a mechanic As comfortable to work with as John I gave him 5 stars hes an awesome mechanic. I recommend this place to anyone who really wants serious work done on their carServices: General repairs & maintenance, Auto engine tuning

Parked in the handicap spot with a placard. One of the workers came out and started yelling at me. He could have calmly told me that it was for the shop and that would have been fine. But instead, he was confrontational and rude. For that reason, I would never bring my car here. That's no way to treat anyone.I called Newark Police to see if what they were doing was legal. The police said that if I have a handicap placard, I should be able to park there, regardless of which shop the spot is in front of.This was on Saturday 2/11 around 12:13. Owner, if you read this, please do something about this worker's behavior.

The mechanics are terrible. They do not deliver on promised. I had to wait 2 hours after they had called me to pick up the vehicle. Vehicle's is the same as it had come in for . I brought it in to Pep Boys for car does not blow out heat for cabin. It will be the first and last time that I had my car serviced at Pep Boys. The manager and assistant manager are terrible. They want me to pay before I could the vehicle to see if it is properly serviced. Please do not have your vehicles serviced at Pep Boys. They couldn't tell me whether the mechanics are ASE certified technicians.

Unacceptable: Writing this review to report an unprofessional, unpleasant, and disappointing experience with my very first pep boys appointment. Booked an appointment for Friday 17th Dec at 4pm. Got a call on the same day with an update that they would be closing by 4pm on that Friday hence needed to reschedule. Cool..went ahead and rescheduled over phone for the next day , Sat, the 18th of Dec at 1pm. Drive 20 mi from my home to their location and reach there at 1pm only to find that their shop is closed for the day with a handwritten note hung at the door, mentioning that they were closed due to some system failure. They should have made sure their system was up before promising me an appointment! I had to reschedule my day to accommodate the appointment. Not to mention the 20 mi drive back! Thank you pep boys for wasting my weekend !

Bring your car here, not Union City for a Lyft inspection.After dealing with an overweight, disgrunted Gen Z'er at the Union City location I came here. What a breath of fresh air. Kevin, you are awesome! Keep that same upbeat attitude and good things will happen for you in life. This young man literally changed my entire attitude after dealing with the rude burnt out kid working at Union City. Thank you Kevin for your professionalism and courtesy it really means a lot!Pep Boys, you need to take care of Kevin. Getting good customer service, in particular from young people, is becoming a unicorn esque experience. You guys are lucky to have him working here!

John was absolutely amazing. He was very courteous and very professional. The employees at PEP boys at Haskell, Nj fixed my mothers car- all in one day considering we had to get it towed from Lincoln Park. They were the only one open also during the Labor Day holiday weekend. Thank You Soo much guys :)

As a mom of three young children, I rely heavily on my car and have zero free time to waste. Pep Boys in Haskell bent over backwards to make my experience positive and as easy as possible! They supplied a complimentary Lyft so that I could leave my car there and were finished quicker than I expected. They went above and beyond to get parts for me so I wouldn t have to make another appointment. Honest business I trust them completely!

Just needed an oil change without having to leave my car for the day! (its just an oil change!) This Pep Boys has great customer service and the technician is professional and thorough.
