I've been taking my cars to Elie for the past 6 years, and honestly, I can't imagine going anywhere else at this point. Elie is the man. I highly recommend Elie! He s extremely knowledgeable and responds to messages quickly. I reached out to him on Yelp during Thanksgiving night, and he got back to me right away. He s not only honest but also offers very reasonable prices. While waiting at his office, I had a chat with a long-time customer who has been with him for nearly a decade. They had nothing but high praise for him.

I was introduced to Elie in a time of severe need for trustworthy auto repairI have an older Audi and was directed to his shops services by family who has utilized his expertise for a number of years. Being new to the Bay Area it s very hard to know who you can rely on when it comes to tricky German automotive, although it has been a lot of testing and not a straight forward problem he has helped guide me through the appropriate steps to handle the issues that have recently come up in an honest and authentic way. I am grateful for city auto and the care they have lent in keeping things manageable in diagnosing my cars issues. I will continue to rely on this shops services.I manage to get back and forth from Oakland to seek their help because there is nothing more valuable than a business owner and mechanic that stands by their work and knowledge.Thank you Elie and crew!

The shop was an absolute ghetto dump, I don t know how this Eli got all of these positive reviews, I m thinking they were posted by relatives, friends, friends of friends or paid for. Eli was completely unprofessional, rude and had a demeanor as if I was bothering him. His posted shop pictures on his webpage are very very misleading, more like fraud, I would never leave my car there overnight, his lot reminded me of a junk yard, very chaotic. I just moved into town three months ago and looking for someone to maintain my 5 vehicles, and it s definitely not going to be by Eli. I guess if your looking for ghetto service and cheap, Eli is your guy, but I m personally looking for decent customer service at a minimum and piece of mind knowing my vehicle is safe and in good hands, I m actually glad I had this pre experience with Eli because I probably dodged the bullet with inferior service. The reality is, you get exactly what you pay for and I m not looking for cheap . This review is not an attack on Eli, merely my opinion and personal experience with him, results may vary.

Came in this morning for a free estimate done by Elie. He already had quite a few people waiting for repairs but he still made time to give me my free estimate done anyways (which I super appreciated, and he did so in a timely manner). He told me the exact cost of repairs and what I needed to repair and gave me his honest opinion on it. I have an older car and he told me that in his professional opinion he felt that the repair costs would not be worth it. I super appreciated his honesty, he could have just pushed the repairs on me and had not said anything more but this showed me that Elie is honest and an overall trustworthy mechanic.Service: Vehicle safety inspection

Ellie does consistently excellent work. I don't like to go anywhere else. My mother's car was having trouble starting. She took it to the dealership three times. They charged her a fortune and never fixed the issue. She then took it to Ellie and he truly fixed it. Just had an excellent experience here. New to the area so I went to a different mechanic and wasted $$ for nothing. But thankfully I found Elie and was able to fix the damaged parts (there were multiple parts needed to be fixed actually and Elie took the time to show and explain them all to me) for a very reasonable price. He is nice funny and really cares about the car. Highly recommend!

This is my go to auto shop. The owner knows his stuff and his trustworthy. Whenever I go to another shop for minor maintenance (like an oil change) they always try to sell me on supposedly necessary repairs, but then I bring my car here to find out if they are really necessary, and they almost never are. Great guys and very knowledgeable, I had a issue with my wife s Mercedes I first took it to the dealer and they quoted my out a ridiculous price then I stopped by this shop and talked to Ali, he was very friendly and helpful and got the shop done for a fraction of the cost the dealer wanted. You guys rock love this place, they just got a long time customer gonna take all my cars here

Was recommended this place by a local subaru guy - my impreza needed the head gaskets replaced and they were able to answer all my questions and get the work done within a week, even having my heads sent to the machine shop. Pricing was the best out of local shops by about 20% as well! Would definitely come back

Went straight to the store based on google map review for regular maintenance and rattling sound problem. The owner Elie is really nice and sent images & videos to pinpoint the broken parts. He also explained to me why the specific part could be broken. The price is indeed competent and he would provide as much info as he can. Would highly recommend this store! For a recent car owner who has no idea whatsoever about how cars work, not only did Elie explain every single thing thoroughly to me but also really made the whole process smooth and easy. His commitment to customer service and charging reasonable price exceed expectations. I'm really grateful I found an honest go to mechanic around the area. I got so much more than what I paid for at City Auto Sales and I can't recommend them enough!

When our 07 Civic's engine block cracked, Elie took care of us. Fixed it as fast as he could've and didn't try to upsell us in any way. We were so impressed, he's our official go to mechanic for all our auto needs. I've also recommended many friends to him and they all love him too. This place is highly recommended.

A friend recommended Elie. He is the type of mechanic you dream of finding. No chains here; just a local shop, where they will stop what they're doing to attend to your needs. I am new to the area, and have brought my car to a few different mechanics in Fremont. Elie of "City Auto Sales & Repair" is by far the best. What has most impressed me is his honesty, his knowledge, his prices, and the overall service. He goes out of his ways to fix your car, and does not hesitate to contact dealers in case of doubts. I can only HIGHLY RECOMMEND him.

This is the best, most reasonable and knowledgeable mechanic in town! Highly recommended. One time a few years ago I dropped off my car for repairs during the rainy season. I had my toddler and stroller to walk home. The owner offered to drive us home since it was raining off and on.

Fast and wonderful work. Eli is honest and the most trusting mechanic I know in the area. Most shops if get a second opinion on or check it out for myself, I found I would just be wasting my time doing that here. It's his honesty that keeps me coming back!

I'm VERY pleased with the exceptional service and super professional work at City Auto in Newark! An engine replacement was no small job, and Elie and his crew nailed it, including sourcing an engine from Japan. These guys really know their stuff! I could not be happier with the results and the performance boost. All of this stellar service and super reasonable shop rates too. Honest, hard-working and dedicated crew here...100% pro. Highly recommend!!

We are from out of town and needed a good mechanic. This place had a 5 star rating, so we decided to take our vehicle here. Best decision made!!!
