This place took over 7 months to repair my vehicle. Dodged my phone calls and the insurance companies phone calls. I still do not have my vehicle back. NEVER come to this repair shop unless you want to rent a car for the duration of your life.Update: Today (4/12/2024) I came to inspect my vehicle as I was told it is in the process of being painted since 3/5/2024. Keep in mind that I dropped my vehicle off on 3/6/2023. When I showed up to inspect my vehicle for paint, this was the resulting picture. Gabriel told me he is working hard to get it back to me. However, every time I call or come by I am met with failed promises to return my vehicle. I have reached out for legal counsel.Total days since vehicle has been in possession of California Auto Body = 402 days and counting.

Excellent Service. I took My Tacoma truck to repair the bed on my truck because one bolt was stripped and the bed rattle a lot. Gabriel Hernandez work with me on the price and gave me a good deal. Once they remove the bed, all the bolts were in terrible condition not just the one, but they fix all the other bolts for no additional price. I'm very satisfied with the repair.

They have the greatest customer service I've ever encountered in my life. I needed some body work and a quality paint job. My car came out flawless. Their attention to detail not only proved their competence to me but also assured my trust in them for years to come. The process of waiting for my car it was worth it every single day, specially after the first estimate, one s they start to remove the parts, need it to be replaced, there was an internal damage, that they reported to my insurance, one s they approved the extra charge for damages,The shop continued with the process by order the parts, Mr. Hern�ndez Gabriel with a great professional ethics make me realize that waiting on parts is a process as well,Since day one the Gabriel contact me he promised me to update me, and he did it. one s he took my case it took a week to pick up my car, like newVery professional on what they do, I definitely recommend this shop if you are looking for a professional job and not just a fix quick and go.What I learned about it,Is that everything takes time .I truly appreciate it, your support Gabriel a unique special person.Services: Body & Trim, Air conditioning

This has been the most Horrible experience of my life . I was involved in a car accident that was not my fault and was hurt. I stated that I was recovering from physical injuries and a concussion and made the mistake of trusting this place with my car. They have had my car for over 4 months after I approved the repairs and it is still not ready. What they are doing is illegal and I feel completely taken advantage of. They promise to call me back and don t return my calls at all. The only communication is when I show up up in person or call blocked . I regret taking my car there and trusting them in the first place.Seeking legal action is the next step. Save yourself a headache and heartache and go somewhere else.Service: Battery

I have gone here many times over the past 20 years. For myself and my kid's cars. California auto body has done excellent work each time and I have never had to bring a car back in for warranty work as they do it right the first time! Had an appt not knowing when I would get my car fixed because of a accident. Right away they checked my car and the insurance at fault, they got me a rental through the insurance right away and explained with detail what was going to be fixed. Everything was fast and everyone working there that I had to deal with were so nice and helpful. Thank you.

I just picked up my Challenger from this place. I had a hit and run a few weeks ago and they hit my rear bumper. Im speechless with the customer service of Gabriela and Alex. Wonderful communication, keeping us in touch with the process of the car during the week. And the car turned out great! I totally recommend this place hundred percent! Everyone at this location was super nice and friendly. My husband was in an accident that required body work and was deployed when the work needed to be done. Everyone I had contact with was super helpful and explained everything I needed to do. They also provided me a ride home the day I dropped off the car which was so helpful. Had my first accident and found this place online. They did an amazing job and im really happy how my car looks very clean. They even polished my foggy headlights when I ask if they can, without charging extra! This place is good and can be trusted. You may call them and you'll get an update from your car repair.

Gabriela is incredible! Other than being an extremely nice and likable person, she is just very professional, personable, trustworthy, and good at her job. I hit somebody s couch in the middle of the freeway going 70 + mph Sunday night totally ruining my front bumper on my 2021 Honda Insight. On Monday, I took the car to 3 different body shops before coming here. One of them was trying to overcharge me, the other told me it would take 3 days before I could even get an estimate, and the girl at Service Kings acted like I was annoying her by asking for an estimate. She took pictures of the car and told me I would have an estimate in a few hours. It s Thursday, and I am still waiting for that estimate while I am sitting in my perfectly fixed car thanks to this place lol! I literally just picked it up and didn t want to wait to do the review because I was afraid I would forget. And, I hardly ever do these reviews! When I got to this place on Monday, Gabriela approached me with the biggest smile on her face asking me how she could help me. I told her what happened and she said let s go look at it. She was marking everything down that had to be replaced and or fixed on the paper right then. She explained everything to me in a way that even an idiot would understand and gave me a price right away. As soon as I said let s do it, she was on the phone with the Honda dealer ordering parts. I brought the car back to her on Tuesday and picked it up today. I ll never go anywhere else as long as she is working there. She is amazing! Price was fair, work was great, and all the ppl here are welcoming, friendly, and professional!

I unfortunately ran over a ladder in my sedan, and the folks at California Auto Body were not only the most friendly, they had the best price. Not often can you find the best price, quality, and service all at once, but California Auto Body is a rare example.

Cali Auto Body & Frame was a pleasure to work with during my insurance claim for my beloved Jeep. They kept in contact and I didn t feel like I was bothering them. They answered questions and went over things thoroughly. When it came time to say bye to my totaled Jeep , they helped me remove my amp and subwoofer, even though I brought my tools. The guys humored my memorial activities and even offered snacks and drinks. I would recommend them first!Huge thanks to Gabriella, Alex, Gabriel, Manny and Sheila!

I normally don t post anything about businesses but I feel I needed to about my situation. I own a 2014 BMW 550. My vehicle came in for a side collision. Paint and a door was repaired and the main damage was my suspension. My front and rear suspension was messed up. Important note, when my vehicle was hit, it was hit with aftermarket 22 inch rims. The company asked me to bring in my stocks so they could align the car. My car was there for some time and I drove the car one day after picking it and end up having a engine go out. Couldn t understand this but basically it was due to wear and tear per the company and my insurance company. I had the car inspected by BMW and they told me yes new engine but your suspension is messed upas well. I told them it was just repaired. Anywho, I got a new engine and paid for it out of pocket. Due to coming up with the money for a new engine, I haven t drove my vehicle. It has set for the last 5 months. I get my car back recently and I put my 22 inch rims back on and now my car scrubs and rubs. After a couple inspections, i was told I need new shocks for the vehicle which should have been repaired with the suspension at the collision center. Not only did California auto body and frame not accurately repair my suspension but also didn t fix my rear left door. It s missing a latch in order for it to close automatically. I m so frustrated with this place. I feel my car went it and came out worse. I didn t even address the door last week because I felt they would have said it s not us it s your 22 wheels causing the door lmao. My 22 did not scrub or rub before the accident. Clearly it s the suspension/shocks. Never waste your time or when they say warranty. It s not the truth. I rather take it somewhere else and get it done the right way. They only get the money from insurance and used that and send you on your way. I ll never take my car back here or any other car in the future.Services: Tires, Auto engine diagnostic, Body & Trim

Had a collision with my Toyota Camry. Gabriella took care of everything kept me informed of everything, contacting the issurance of the other party and everything else. And Gabriel was really professional, I owe him one. Wish I could gave more 5 stars. My experience with them was more than 5 stars. Just give a try you won't be disappointed with their services. And FYI everybody always wear their mask in the office.

Amazing customer service, treat you like family, honestly the best shop around SAN Diego. My husband and I when to this shop because my husbands car was hit and run accident, car was total lost for the insurance company, California auto body fought for us because we had told them that we were up side down on the car deal. and my husbands car got fix thanks to this awesome family. There are many reasons why one would want to bring auto body business to the crew behind this establishment. They are family owned and operated with more than three decades of building a strong reputation in their field of expertise. They have the capacity to service needs of franchised, new car retailer operations as well as used car outlets while not missing any of the details when it comes to taking care of us regular, walk-in customers. Of course it helps to arrange a visit by appointment.You'll be happy to know that they work with all insurance companies if you need to process a claim with their care.During a time of pandemic, the team still made me feel like a valued customer with their personal attention. Their over-the-phone communication is excellent and thorough. In-person, attention to detail is Level 10 out of 10.They are serious about safety and have particular processes in place to ensure it for their customers. What is amazing is they execute it all without losing the human touch. I didn't feel like some companies make me feel, where everything is automated and touchless... almost robotic and assembly line-ish. My experience was very, very personal. They understood my connection to my car and took that into strong consideration. I truly appreciate that about them. After all, I'm a person who spends more time in my car than in my own home with the amount of driving I do.From appointment arrangement via phone call to my initial visit and vehicle walkaround/inspection, I dealt with a true professional at each point of contact. All addressed me by name, clearly expressing their role in the process and what I should expect at each stage as it advances through my vehicle pick up. The expectations laid out were exceeded.If these reasons are not enough to convince you to have your auto body and/or frame needs handled with them, you have to see the finished products they produce.I have an older vehicle with sentimental value that had nearly every panel scratched or dented. The metallic paint with pearlescent effect to it is not an easy color to simply blend in. To say that my old car looks "good as new" is an understatement. Not a dent or scratch body-wide and the paint looks like it came from the manufacturer plant, ready for shipment to the dealership! All that was missing was an MSRP sticker on the window.For some of their before/after work, checking out their @californiaautobody Instagram is a must. They have a Facebook page too, just search the company name. Give them a follow and spread the word after you've personally experienced how they treat their customers and deliver with superior workmanship on your vehicle as they did mine.Whether you're within the local San Diego South Bay Area or from far outside it, you'll find it beyond worthwhile to entrust your vehicle to California Auto Body and Frame. Hey....this is a family owned business...very trustworthy and honest....they treated us like family! Our truck was damaged and was our only vehicle. They set us up with one of their loaner cars to use until our truck was finished! What a beautiful job they did! Amazing! So if you need your vehicle worked on, THIS IS THE PLACE! I have always taken my cars to Mr. Gabriel and his family s shop. They are courteous, timely, affordable and just great community leaders. My vehicle was recently damaged on the freeway due to debris and I brought it to California Auto Body for repairs. Gabriel Hernandez helped me get my car fixed back into the condition it was before the loss. I have nothing but great things to say about California Auto Body and of Gabriel Hernandez. From the moment I needed a ride to the rental company and up to the moment I dropped off my rental car at the shop, Gabriel extended his services to me to make sure I did not go out of my convenience. Very professional body shop with a family atmosphere to go with it. The only thing I can do to show my appreciation for all the help I received is to spread the word to others that are in need.

A family member recommended this shop to me, so I brought my car into this shop in early July of this year after being in a car accident. Everything they said sounded great, my car was towed to the shop the same day. This is a family run business, and they are all really nice people. My problem with this shop is the time they took to do the repair, the lack of attention to detail, and lack of accountability. My car went in July 8th, and left September 30th (later to be returned for improper repairs). Gabriel kept telling me the car would be ready on a certain date, I would show up on that day, and he would come up with excuses on why the job was not finished. When I finally did get the "ok" to pick up my car, my car was not repaired properly, as it still had a long scratch along the passenger side and also several scratches on the hood that were supposed to be removed when the car was returned to me. It was missing a mud flap, and some small bracket covers in the rear seat were missing. I was also picking up a sound in the rear of the car. I did end up taking the car home for the weekend as I needed to contact the at-fault driver's insurance and my lawyer.Now, Gabriel tried telling me that the long scratch along the passengers side was extra, and I needed to contact the other divers insurance, but on good faith he would "repair it either ways." I worked for an automotive bodyshop for a few years, so I know how this stuff works. He was paid, and paid well by the at-fault driver's insurance to repair my car to pre-loss condition. He also tried telling me that the deep scratches on the hood were possibly due to a tree I must park my car under. As for the sound I was picking up, he tried stating the alignment was off and I must of hit a curb pretty bad in that weekend I got to drive my car. The biggest mistake on my part was taking the car home over that weekend and giving him an excuse for that sound. Like I said, I worked in a shop and know that at the very least if this were true a TPMS sensor would have turned on in the dash, and causing a sound that bad would require some extensive damage on the rim. He did state that a spring could have loosened up, but then went back to his original accusations. As for the scratches on the hood, I'm not too sure what to conclude with that, but I know some shops have bad practice of removing things off a car and using the hood as a storage unit to place things on.At this point, I just couldn't wait to get my car back. Dealing with this shop was a complete nightmare. Gabriel left my car as last priority, and left me to assume he was working with the insurance and not the customer. For the most part my paint was eventually repaired (color sanded/buffed). The mudflap he "had already ordered" was never put back on my car, and the little bracket covers on the rear seat were not put back on.*In conclusion, I would not recommend any family member or friend to take their cars to this shop, especially if it is an insurance job. They work with the insurance and not with you. Gabriel fed so many lies to me, I think he would make a good politician, I didn't believe any of his lies. I only responded back as a politician even when I knew I was being lied to, just to have the repairs done and receive my car back. I will not be returning to this shop, and they have lost future customers with my family alone. So much for life-time Warranty when the owner takes no accountability!-I took the time to write this long review to inform others, I hope you make the right decision and take your car to the right shop, as I certainly didn't. I was mislead by good yelp reviews and "word of mouth" from a family member.-Vic

California Auto Body and Frame was just incredible! They did everything to fix my frame problem on a Saturday because I had to drive 500 miles on Monday. They were able to find the parts and worked past their closing time so I could be safely on the road! I would strongly recommend California Auto Body & Frame to anyone anytime!

I took a pickup into them that had a bent frame that had been "fixed" by a previous owner. Not only did they fix it (properly) for a GREAT price, but they did it quick as hell! Would DEFINITELY come here again, and will recommend to all my friends

Very nice people & there personally was Amazing & they did an Amazing job I love it & there very Courtesy wow what I really enjoyed the most was offering Coffee, Water, & Coke, & Candy . I didn't Have A Ride Home & Bam I Got A Uber Home & They Cleaned My Car You All There Get An A+++. I'm recommended Your Auto body For Sure
