I highly recommend this company. When explaining my concern about my starter motor Alex genuinely listened to me and I knew right away he was honest and fair. Everything worked out fine. My grade=A+

Long over due review but still feel it's worth sharing. I took my car to this shop because my car was making some loud noises when I was going over 25 mph. Few days before I drove over a plastic bag and I was thinking maybe the plastic bag was stuck somewhere where I couldn't see it so I decided to take it to this shop only to be told that so and so had to be replaced ($800+ job). After I told the mechanic that I wouldn't be able to cover that because I just paid my college tuition for the semester, he walked away upset and said under his breath, "yeah it was a plastic bag making all that noise". I drove off and no more noise but just upsets me because if I did have the funds to pay for it, it wasn't an honest diagnosis of the car issue.

$145/hour labor. Lowest in Napa Valley. They went above and beyond. Not only did they change the water pump, while down there, they changed the timing chain, serpentine belt (drive belt, accessory belt), and even gave me an oil change. They even showed me a box of the parts they changed. Got my car back in a week. My car is good for another 162,000 miles. I recommend you pay in cash or with debit card, if pay with credit they charge you the 3% fee. And remember, the estimate is just an estimate, plan on paying a little more for the extra they do. 4.5 stars. 5 stars if they had it washed and vacummed next door ;)

Excellent service!!! I was in this week for a smog check. As soon as I arrived two lovely young women came out greeted me asking how they could help. I proceeded to go inside and within 15 minutes, my car was ready to go! Friendly staff and Excellent service will have me coming back and referring people to Universal Auto. Thank you, Joe Castro and staff!!

I like this place. It is a no nonsense place to take your car and expect to get good honest service. Took my vintage VW Westfalia Camper for a smog check and it was done well and efficiently. They had previously repaired my air conditioning system and it lasted a couple of years since the unit is old and may need additional work. I will see what happens when I take it back for more work.

Jose Castro is kind, courteous, professional, and an excellent mechanic. He and his staff, including Alicia Corro at the front desk, go out of their way to assist you in any way possible. They do not take advantage as far as pricing goes. The prices for service and parts are realistic and affordable. Service is provided as quickly as possible so there isn t a long wait for you to get your car back on the road. I highly recommend Universal Auto of Napa.

Awesome shop. really good work. I took my truck here to get a smog and I was in and out really fast. the staff was super friendly and answered all of my questions. Will definitely recommend.

Do not leave your car with them. They will take weeks to "fix" the vehicle and will completely damage it in the process. The owner will let you take the car even if it hasn't been tested and after you ask about the work they did, he will say your money, that he asked for, is not worth the time put into the vehicle and that is why they did an incomplete job.Services: Electrical repair, Electrical, Car scanning
