This is the place to go if you need service. We had a light inspection done and it was a good experience. They checked it out , sent us to a nearby place for a quick repair and had us out the door with our lights passed certificate in record time. They are friendly and efficient. Honestly I'd recommend other smog places. The customer service done by Eric is very low quality. You can feel the tension of rude behavior while being here. It honestly made me uncomfortable. And my car just sat for a whole hour without even being touched. It finally got looked at because i spoke up.

Eric La Vasani and the rest of the mechanic that work over there can be trusted with the care of your car. If they do a diagnostic test on your car, whatever the result is Eric will suggest the best way to fix the problem & the cheapest way. Not like the other repair shop they will add more problems on your car just to make more money from you. Yesterday they did a service maintenance on my Toyota Rav-4 again the service is excellent. The people that work there treat you with respect and very courteous. I personally give the Murrieta Smog Star exceptional rating. I went in for a smog certification and I asked if he would check my battery for me because it had recently died. The worker saw that I was blonde and a girl and very condescendingly said yeah. Of course we can check it. But then he never did. Then after me reminding him three times, he gave me an estimate for not just the test, but for what the whole new battery would cost. He said it would be $250 to replace it, without even testing it first, wanting my signature. He also told me I need a new axle on my Subaru when I know for a fact my muffler is bent from hitting a pothole too fast, that s why it s rattling. I ve had the noise checked out many times at the Subaru dealership and other places. None of them found anything wrong with my axle. He really tried to haggle me because I was female and a blonde. He was rude and treated me like I was stupid. I am a nurse in a doctoral program, and far from stupid. I told him I would get a second opinion. Don t go into this place without a man present with you.Service: Smog certification

Best place to get your Brake & Lights Inspection done 4 the DMV. They have reasonable prices but they do great work!! They will text & call you to let you know the work is done if you choose not to stay an wait? They will call & text you until they get a response.... But I would recommend anybody to go get any of there work done that they do??

Very pleasant establishment to have your smog needs met. I am an Active duty Marine, and I was soon ushered to the front of the queue after one of the gentlemen working there heard me mention Leave over the phone. I cannot remember if he was the owner or not unfortunately. Very Patriotic and efficient people to do business with. Will recommend!Service: Smog certification

I will never go back to this establishment. I came here to get a simple smog test on my SUV. They labeled my catalytic converter as tampered and claimed it was not a part valid for my car. They triggered a code on my car that was nonexistent otherwise as it disappeared while driving and was not present when another smog station tested it without issue. The same day this establishment failed my car for emissions another smog shop passed it without issue and verified my catalytic converter is in fact the needed specifications. What a waste of $40 and my time! Save yourself and go elsewhere!Service: Emissions testing

They did a great job and were very efficient. When we first arrived, they asked us to come back in an hour or so. At first, we thought of just going to another place. But, Tracy who was working in the front was so friendly and courteous that we decided to wait and return in an hour. He was able to get us in and out and I explained I had 2 more cars to bring in. Each time, I was in and out pretty quickly and actually did not mind the wait. I had the opportunity to watch him and the mechanic in the back work with many customers and they were so friendly and professional with everyone. Great experience!

Proprietor and wife are friendly, helpful and fast. Their process for checking in, getting tested and checking out was less than 15 minutes, at least for my 2013 Ford Edge Sport. I've used them for years and will continue to go to them as long as we live here.Just be sure you go to the one in the middle of the building not the one towards the street.

Awesome! Great service all the way around. I think the lead mechanics name is Eric, but the guy with grey hair and a cool accent was great. He knew exactly what he was talking about and helped us pass our smog.

Eric at Smog Star is my "Go-To" guy for all auto repair work. He is proven to be honest, has reasonable rates, and has a highly skilled staff of mechanics. If you want faster service, make an appointment before you go. Do not, I repeat, do not try to get your smog test done here! The owner, Eric, is extremely rude and has no sense of customer relations. Went in to get a smog test for my van and was told the catalytic converter was upside down and he could not read the numbers. He informed me that if he had the numbers on the converter, he could do the work. After going back to my mechanic, he informed that the numbers were visible and provided them to me to give to Eric. I go in to the smog center and provide them directly to Eric and then he informs me he has to be able to read the numbers on the converter itself. I asked why didn't he tell me this before going to the mechanic. What a run around and still no smog test! He then has the balls to tell me to get out. I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau about this one!

Eric I believe his name was, the older gentleman, did a quick and fantastic job and had a constant smile on his face. I will continue to go here and no where else. The lady at the front was awesome too and super nice. Thank you!!

On a slow week day, I waited almost an hour before they even touched my car. Then they helped another couple who came in after me, and got them in and out within 20 minutes; no appointment. It's as if they were intentionally wasting my time. I would give them zero stars if I could.

What a joke. My car passed this smog check with flying colors, emissions, my ECU (cars computer) was ready to go. My vehicle has 4 Catalytic converters (it s a Ford), one of the smog techs told me that my numbers on two of my catalytic converter s were not visible due to rust underneath. He could read the other two, just not these two. So instead of maybe grabbing a little brush (like what I did, 2 minutes of my time. He fails it) and making the numbers visible.I have read other reviews, & clearly they use this as a form to make money. So you go into there for 1 smog, oh you almost passed, just get us these numbers. Come back and pay for another essentially they re making you pay for TWO smogs.Service: Smog certification

I recommend Murrieta Smog Check Star to everyone I talk to. I have been taking all three of my cars there for smog certificates for over 10 years. These guys know what they are doing, very professional!They are fast efficient and very easy to talk to with concerns about your vehicle.I am in and out of there in less than 20 minutes each time. I've smogged my Mustang here the last 2 times it's been required & been very happy. Price is inexpensive (especially with the coupon) and they are fast & easy... great place for a smog check!!
