Been coming here for a few years. I had a 2011 Audi A4 that was plagued with one problem after another. I found this shop to be the first that I could trust to tell me what actually needed to be done to keep the car running safely. On my last visit, they made it clear that the car was on its last legs and that even if they serviced the vehicle, it was unlikely to last more than 1-2 more years without $10k+ of maintenance. Their inspection results were very thorough and allowed me to sell the car while being transparent and upfront with buyers about its condition. I probably won t buy an Audi again, but these guys allowed me to drive the car much longer than I otherwise would have. And playing with their dog while you wait is an added bonus.

I've taken my car here twice and they aways do a phenomenal job. They explain everything clearly and without condescension, which is often hard to find as a woman getting car service. Very timely, communicative, and kind, and I won't take my car anywhere else now.

I have 2 vehicles with over 300k miles on them. SFCS has been keeping them running smooth for over 15 years. I like how they take the time to explain what was the cause(s) of the problem(s) and how they fixed it. It reminds me why I don't work on my cars anymore.

Professional and honest. I had a problem with my Subaru that the ignition key occasionally got stuck after I turned off the engine. I came to this repair shop to see if they can fix it. He mentioned that it may be a problem with the switch plate. However, he recommended me to contact the dealer first since the car is not too old (even though it is out of warranty). It turns out that Subaru has a TSB on this issue and they fix it for free. Thanks for being honest and save me money. Even though you don't have my business this time, I definitely will bring my car to you for service in the future.

Very nice group of people, Matthew walked me through what was wrong with my car and what was going to be done to fix it and other preventative care I can do for my car. Straightforward to pricing and what my options are.I dropped my car off later in the day which meant it was going to take more time but they took care of me and drove me to and from my house in the mean time. Also they have a friendly shop dog, I think he deserves a raise.

This place is honest. That's rare. I thank God I found it. Scenario: I needed guidance on the catalytic converter cover another shop installed. Sunnyvale Foreign Car Svc told me the other shop did a good job and that I was fine. No further work needed to be done to deter thieves. Just think if I'd of gone to the Toyota dealership on El Camino. They'd have a list as long as my arm about all the things I should consider, from soup to nuts, and I guarantee you, 99 percent of their suggestions would be hogwash.I'm not going anywhere else. Period.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Sunnyvale Foreign Car has been a a lifesaver since moving to the bay area. As anyone knows, you need to have a mechanic you trust. We were referred to them by fellow Googlers and have been treated with nothing but professionalism since day 1. The employees always seem to go the extra mile whenever they can. If you are in range and someone is on-site you can even get dropped off at home.We recently purchased a new car and they performed all the pre-purchase inspections. They completed a more thorough job than any *Audi Master Technicians that looked at the same car. They even took some time to discuss what to buy and look up relevant prices and good dealers to look for. They may be more expensive than your local mechanic but you are paying for their highly qualified technicians and state of the art equipment. The one place I don't want to find the cheapest option is my mechanic.

Friendly family run business. This team is extremely knowledgeable and you can tell that they take pride in providing the best customer experience they can. Matt, the owner, equips his team with the latest software from the manufacturer so you ll always know that your car is being diagnosed and serviced with the latest technology. Sunnyvale Foreign Car Service will always have your best interest at heart. Friendly, knowledgeable, responsive, and fairly priced. What else could you ask for!?

Gotta be the worst mechanic experience I ve had.I asked them to do three things: Fix my window, give me bolts for my passenger seat, and fix my car key.1. They fixed my window2. Gave me the wrong bolts3. They didn t fix my car keyThey charged me $900 to fix a window. I had to go out and buy the right bolts and install them myself. They then proceeded to charge me over $100 just for checking my key s compatibility all for them to tell me it wouldn t work. So I guess that s just a screw you fee? Won t be going back

I recently brought in my car after reading the great reviews that other customers had posted in regard to the work they've had done at Sunnyvale Foreign Car Service. As my car is just hitting the 150K mile mark, things do go wrong from time to time, and I was looking for a shop I could trust to keep the car running for as long as possible as I don't want to get rid of it if I don't have to (I love the car, even with its quirks). Matt and Tom were personable, professional, and very honest up front about the cost of the work and what they could do to help me (The driver seat frame in my G35 coupe had cracked and needed replacement). I can't stress enough how excellent the customer service and communication was. At most other shops I've found a need to call to follow up because of a lack of communication, but I was pleasantly surprised that Tom and Matt would call me with updates, and if they told me they'd call me back on a certain day, they would. They definitely under promised and over delivered on the turnaround time for the car, which I was really happy about. In all, the car was back with me two days after I dropped it off. Tom and Matt took the time to show me the part that was replaced when I picked it up while taking a final look and making sure the car was good to go. Service here is the full package. Though this was a costly repair, I felt good about trusting the car to them. I'm extremely happy with the service this shop provided to me, and though it's never fun when your car has a problem, I'd look forward to bringing the car back in and having Tom, Matt and their skilled team take a look at my car for regular preventative maintenance or any issues that may arise in future. Wonderfully refreshing to see a shop where the level of customer experience and satisfaction is put first. Thanks, guys.

Sunnyvale Foreign Car Service was recommended numerous times by family members. Today, I finally made the switch from dealership automotive service to Foreign Car Service.I am impressed with the level of transparency and interaction which the team expressed on this April 9, 2021. Bob greeted me as the doors opened at 0730 PDT. Being the first customer on site, I took the opportunity to inquire about my upcoming service and Bob patiently answered all my questions. While waiting for the service to complete, Bob dropped by a couple of times to provide status updates. He went out of his way to explain the different types of oil, climate and other conditions to consider. The service was completed in less than an hour, and I felt assured that quality work was performed. This is my key requirement. I am looking for a mechanic and service shop which is trustworthy and transparent. I am glad that I have found it at Sunnyvale Foreign Car service where I don't feel like just another number waiting in line. Thank you team!

Matt and his crew are wonderful. So courteous, professional, and just simply good at their jobs. You can see they take pride in their work too. Their garage is spotless and so bright that I'm sure the mechanics have no trouble seeing anything they'd need to see.I brought in a Hyundai which randomly wouldn't start at times (no sound, just nothing), they diagnosed and repaired it efficiently. They may charge slightly higher but the experience was too notch, I would not hesitate to recommend them for anyone who values peace of mind more than a few bucks.

I came in hoping to have a hitch installed. They explained that they do not do hitches, they referred me to a great place to have it done, and when I mentioned another small problem with my car they put it on a lift and fixed it in one minute for free. They were corteous and a pleasure to deal with. I will be coming here in the future! A huge Thank You to them.

My wife and I started taking our cars here after we became fed up with the "service" at our dealership. That was several years ago and we have had a great experience at SFCS ever since. They don't suggest unnecessary work, and stay within their estimates. We've never had anything go wrong with their service and they are easy to work with. And, we've save a lot of money compared to what the dealership charges. Top marks!

I've had our 2 beater cars serviced by Matt and Tom for nearly 10 years now and it's high time to give them a rating! I am not going to list all the times that they've helped us out in ways quite beyond what could be expected of the most helpful mechanics - that's between us and them - but want to put on record that they have never been anything but 100% reliable, on time and super friendly. If great service and a good relationship with your mechanic is a priority then you'd have to look very hard indeed for a better place.

Great service ! Very nice staff.I have been helped really well with my Mazda today.I had a simple (i thought) problem: a nail in the tire. The team at SFCS explained me how patching a tire works, when it is possible and when not. (depending on the position of the nail)The team gave me a ride back to downtown Mountain View which was really convenient.I will definitely go back to this place, as it feels trustworthy and very professional.

I've been taking my cars to Matt for years. Absolutely happy with every service. Matt and Tom are very professional and clear about all details regarding the work necessary. Always extra nice to catch a ride if needed from Natalie. They make me feel like part of the family whenever I bring my cars for a visit. I have much older cars but Matt and team keep them on the road running and in great shape.Thank you for all you do to maintain (and at times fix) my cars! Very much appreciated!

I have been so impressed with Sunnyvale Foreign Car Service for the past four years that they've serviced my Subaru. Not only are they honest, professional, and great at what they do, but they are positive, friendly, good people and every visit is a pleasant experience. When I was selling my car and had a couple minor things I needed help with, they gladly helped me with a smile when I walked in on two separate occasions, and didn't charge me a dime. Great mechanic, great people.

I brought my 100K mile car here for maintenance. Matt is super friendly and professional. He always keeps my car condition details, repair work progress and budget & cost transparent. It is a big project for a 100K car maintenance but they delivered the quality work the next day. Recommend!Service: General repairs & maintenanceService: General repairs & maintenance

Very friendly, provided me with lots of helpful information. I came in for a tune-up, and they inspected the tires and alerted me to a potential problem. No hard-selling or anything like that, just "Oh by the way your tires are wearing down off-center, you should go check the warranty on them." They were interested in keeping my car running perfectly, not in making a buck. I've been several times and they always put in extra effort.

Their work is good but their prices are not. I was charged $600 for a window regulator replacement, something that should take a skilled mechanic less than an hour and a part that costs about $150 (or less). I know this because I replaced another one myself in just about an hour with no prior experience. Was also quoted over $1200 to install a suspension kit (labor only, parts were provided by me), which I ended up having done at another shop for less than half of that. If you've got the money they will take good care of your car but you can get the same work done elsewhere for less

I trust them completely, and that's the most important part. Matt and Tom have cared for both my beloved yet dysfunctional BMWs for several years now, and their team always correctly diagnoses problems, offers prompt solutions, and treats me and my car with respect. They give me advice in clear terms, like "this needs to be done now" and "this should be done in a few months," but never try to sell me something I don't need or want. They take the time to explain their work upfront so I completely understand what they intend to do. They also communicate well during the repair process. Their pricing is reasonable and I've never had any repair failures. Because it's a local family shop, they'll remember who you are and give a damn about your car. I like that. You will too!

Friendly and professional service. Family business for 60 years. The mechanic I chatted with said he's with them for more than 20 years now and was visibly happy to work there - that's impressive. I was also impressed by the attention my otherwise unimpressive Camry got - I had the feeling the car was in the hands of caring auto doctors and not some salesmen.

I've been going to the Volvo dealership for service on my 2005 XC90 for years. Recently discovered this service center as a recommendation from a friend. Most impressed with the integrity, speed and value experienced here. Highly recommended.

I had a 2001 Audi A4 that I had brought in a few times for servicing. It was not the cheapest rates in town, but I felt like they were very personable and honest with what was wrong. At a certain point I was looking at several thousand dollars of repairs (engine mounts, CV boots, brakes, etc.) and Tom told me up front that it probably wasn't worth the expense to repair the car but I'd be better off getting a new one. He did the minimal service (~$100) to get me back on the road for a few months while I could start looking for a new vehicle.
