$10 extra fee for SUV, $2 extra fee for using a credit card. Total with "$41.70 coupon" (+ certificate, +SUV charge) was $59.95 cash. First gave him $60 in cash but then tried to dig out 95cents in coins and this confused the technician - "What are you doing?" he said multiple times, pointing to the total and the $60 in cash. I said I wanted to get rid of my coins, but he seemed annoyed and again pointed to the total and the cash in hand. I said yes, if I give you 95cents, you can give me a dollar in change. Then he says he doesn't have a dollar. OK then. I tried to look for smaller bills to see if I could give him exact change ($59.95) and he said "What are you doing, you want 5cents back?" I didn't have the small bills anyway, but no, I didn't want 5cents back. I was trying to use up coins (not get more) and make it so he didn't have to give me any change. Strange for a business that prefers to operate with cash to be confused/annoyed by and unprepared to generate change.

The MV Smog Test Only Center was great. They're very quick to answer the phone, although they don't take appointments. They have parking round the side off Boranda Ave; you park, go into the office, fill out the paperwork, and you drive your car in when it's your turn. I had one lady in front of me; including the time for my own test, it took under half an hour total, waiting in a reasonably quiet office with comfy seats. I'll definitely be using them again.

Super friendly, super fast, painless. Everything you want in a STAR smog test station. Bring cash if you can - It helps the shop owner out, and you'll definitely leave wanting to help him out!

I called late on a Friday afternoon to confirm they were open and they said to come right in. I wasn't sure where to go since the shop bay was full, but someone walked out of the office to politely direct me to pull into the small parking behind the shop. I walked into the shop to complete paperwork (minimal), then waited about 15-20 minute while they they finished the earlier jobs. Everything went smoothly, and with the online coupon my total was just under $50. They were polite, friendly, and professional--what more could you ask?Services: Smog certification, Emissions testing

Smooth quick smog test though they charge $50 while there are others in the area who charge $40. So that's something to keep in mind.

Quick an easy.Owner was so generous and helped me when power on the entire got down. He managed to complete all the paperwork in the laptop so I was able to leave with completed test

First time here a couple weeks ago. Convenient location to my workplace and reasonably priced.Coupon on their website. Can show coupon on phone instead of printing out.Sent some messages for questions I had prior to first visit. Response time is quick and within same day.Quick service- was helped right away as a walk in on a week day.Facility is clean and can find decent parking on street as well as a small parking lot in the back.Best of all, staff are professional, friendly, honest, knowledgeable and welcome everyone with a smile.Great experience also on my second visit for a retest (free retest). Same quick and friendly service as my first visit.They definitely give great customer service and make your visit as pleasant and quick as possible.I may have initially selected their business based on location and cost but they won me over as a loyal customer because of their great work ethics and customer service.This is definitely my 'go to' place from now on and will recommend to all around me.Thanks MTV Smog! Appreciate you guys.

Awesome service, very professional. I had to use a Star station as my car is older and always requires it. Andrew did a great job, no waiting, done in less than 30 minutes, including some bonus car talk. This was a very interesting experience. It is first-come first-served business and is extremely busy. Right when I got the, some guy in a Lexus SUV ripped in, jumped out of the car and basically pushed his way in front of me so I just stared him down until he felt guilty and he went back to his car to pretend to do something before coming back in.The man running the store was very short with everyone, but it was clearly nothing personal and so I chose not to get upset. Instead, I started joking a bit while just trying to stay out of the way follow instructions but ready to execute commands as provided. If you feel slighted, just relax, it's who he is and I am willing to bet he's a completely different person outside of work.The service is very quick, even if the dude is a little bit curt. He seems passionate about his business and I appreciate people like that and am willing to put up with their frustrations because they add color to brighten up this sometimes dull and bleak world. Thanks for the interesting experience!

The guy whom i talked too is so rude and not accomodating i still have my smog test co z i need it..but i will not be coming back he should learn how to talk too customers in a nice way.even if he is the owner that i don t know don t be rude to your customer s .so unprofessional!!Service: Smog certificationService: Smog certification

Excellent experience getting first time Smog Cert done. I needed a Star station. Very thankful for Andrew's Awesome and quick service, very friendly and stress free smog test. Due to pandemic my car had been not used as much, He so quickly understood the issue and provided expert advice on what I had to do in order to pass the smog test, it was such an easy tip that had everything working. The staff here were nice. Andrew, especially, was very helpful from the time I called on the phone to get some info regarding wait time, fees, etc., until the time I got to the shop for the service. I didn't have that nagging feeling that I was being overcharged. I highly recommend this place for getting car smogged at a Star Station.

My man will get you in and out in no time. Very knowledgeable and explains things clearly while being efficient and quick. Will be my go-to smog station from now on.Unlike some, he'll do older vehicles, but it is pricey. Don't blame him, blame CA.Also DD's an FD RX7, so that should tell you how cool he is.Service: Smog certification

Went in on a weekday morning arriving just after another customer was paying. Took me all of 10 minutes, the check happened right in front of the waiting area (my car was completely visible the whole time) and the service was quick and friendly.Update 2018, same quick, great service!

Fantastic place. Andrew is the best -- got me out of there in a few minutes for an out-of-state smog check. If you're looking to get a smog check for your car, take it to Andrew and he'll handle everything. Website displays transparent prices. Came in on a weekday around 9am. Andrew was super friendly and super quick with the smog check, got out in less than 15 mins. Highly recommend!

Came on a saturday at 1. I called 10 minutes ahead, and he was waiting outside to guide my car into the bay. Automatically applied the coupon on the initial signing.I was considering going to a cheaper place with fewer stars, but the service, speed, honesty here made it worth it.

Awesome experience with Andrew!! Due to pandemic my car had been sitting for months, and as a result had to get a new battery. When I came in Andrew quickly provided expert advice on what I had to do in order to pass the smog test. Great service!!

Andrew is a super cool dude, was in and out of there within 15 mins. Dude is super chill - he used to own his own testing center down the street, he's now helping out his friend who owns the shop after he got hit by a drunk driver. Thanks Andrew! Highly recommend this place
