Amazing customer service and super responsive. I had a screw in my tire and they were able to take the car in and put a plug in very quickly. I m grateful for Justin and Pete! Excellent place, will definitely go back.

I have nothing but good to say about my entire experience with Felix s Auto Service, Inc. I dealt on the phone with Justin, who was always very cordial and kept me up-to-date with the progress they were making in replacing a stolen catalytic converter for my 2007 Honda Accord. I would highly recommend Felix s for any auto repairs you may have.

Good people, very high pricesI ve gone to this shop a few times now. Their go to thing is needing to run a diagnostic check. This usually costs $250. And it doesn t include fixing your car issue. Just a short report on what they think the issue is. Once I had my headlight bulb go out, they wanted to run a diagnostic and charge me $250 instead of changing the $10 bulb.It s worth doing some basic research on the part cost and labor cost to estimate the cost of your specific issue. I took my car to my regular mechanic for the same issue and I saved more than $1000!! My regular mechanic charged me a similar amount to what I frequently found on car mechanic forums, which was much less than Felix s quote.If they are telling you that a $250 diagnostic check is needed, I would reconsider your options. Granted I don t know what they are doing for their diagnostic check, but connecting the OBD2 car reader to the car and reading the error codes should not count as a $250 diagnostic. OBD2 car readers cost $25, 1/10 the price of their test. At the very least their diagnostic check should include a thorough checklist of what they ll be reviewing, so that there is transparency with the customer.

Peter and Justin are professional, knowledgable, and expert. They gave my 16 year old car a thorough inspection and tune-up. They communicate clearly and work hard to obtain parts and address the issues associated with an aging, but well-loved vehicle. I'm so happy I found them!

Bad experience, must be cautious about unexpected charges. Cost estimate before the repair process usually means nothing here, they can always find to reason to ask for additional cost. The most funny part is that, it looks like they are recommending that you need to have this additional work and they are doing it for your safety, but the fact is that they leave you no choice but have to take it, if you want to retrieve your vehicle with full functionality. Not professional at all, will never be there ever.My previous experience with dealers is expensive but professional, so it s my first time to go to somewhere for a cheaper solution. It turns out it costs me more, also a very bad experience. My recommendation is that, do not come or find somewhere you are more familiar, this place deserves no trust!If time goes back, I will definitely take my vehicle to the dealers and take their offer.

What we appreciate about Felix's, and why we always come back, is that they keep the big picture in mind when diagnosing and advising us on repairs. This is super important for decision-making, particularly in our case with an aging car. At the same time, they also know EVERYTHING about the granular details, and they do their best to patiently explain it all to us. They're geniuses when it comes to the actual repair. Recently they noticed on a routine checkup that our radiator was failing, and they needed to replace it. Because our car is both old and atypical, the exact replacement part could not be sourced (and if anyone could source it, Felix could). Plan B was to modify the closest equivalent part to make it work. I wish that I knew enough about cars to adequately paraphrase what Peter told me they did, but it sounded like a really creative but also bulletproof solution. A separate problem we experienced is trouble shifting, and I was really impressed with Felix's systematic approach to accurately diagnosing the issue. They didn't just assume it was the clutch, they first ruled out other things like transmission issues. Clearly it would be best if every auto shop took the time to do this, but in our experience it's rare to find mechanics who are as thorough, and it's really critical to have all this data on the car's overall soundness when deciding how much to invest in repairs to keep an older vehicle on the road. This is why we are loyal customers and would strongly recommend anyone bring their car to Felix's.

This was the second time to bring my vehicles here. The shop is on Evelyn close to the MTV Transit Center. This time it was to fix a scraping brake sound and fluid leak from my wife's 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Peter called me after drop off to inform me that after their brake inspection and cleaning they couldn't find anything and the sound was gone, so he said they weren't going to do anything more. They did find a leaky plastic transmission pan assembly and they did a replacement. They also replaced the air filters which was recommended since the Jeep had 54K miles and an oil change. They did have to keep the Jeep overnight and Peter called me at about 4 PM the next day to let me know it was ready. I got a pick up from Justin, paid a fair price and drove my repaired Jeep home; a happy customer.Expert, professional service and a great value from a neighborhood shop. They offer a shuttle service for drop off and pick up. Peter and Justin are great guys. If your vehicle is out of warranty, bring it here for fixing, I have and will in the future, highly recommended.Services: Air & cabin filter replacement, Transmission repair, Brake service & repair, Oil change

Excellent service from beginning to end. Service advisor provided excellent service from the moment I called to schedule an appointment . Although no appointments were available upon requested, he followed up with me when a time became available. Upon arrival, he greeted me by my name. They provided shuttle service. Throughout the day, I received a detailed report of the inspection performed. It s the their time I visit Felix Auto Service and they always deliver.

I first started coming here because of it's convenience to downtown Mt. View but I have been a loyal regular for over a decade because of their extensive knowledge, how thorough they are in diagnosis and repair, their transparency and clear explanations of every step of every repair, and their reliable quality and service. I trust Peter and his team, and cannot recommend Felix Auto enough!

Lifesaver! So I went to see Pete after my mentor said you have to get the wheel bearings serviced (because they were loud). I had taken my car faithfully to a Toyota dealer, and they hadn't paid attention to the loud bearings. So when I took my car to Pete, he road tested it with me in it (precovid19). He knew it was the bearings and turned the car back into his lot. He let me know that the wheel could have separated if this wasn't fixed (which is totally accurate from my research). If the wheel had separated well, I might not have been around to type this review. I only our cars to Pete at Felix Auto. I trust him. He really takes safety seriously, is an honest expert, and has wonderful staff.

I highly recommend this place for car services. My car overheated across the street. Peter had me bring the car over and looked at it on the spot. I ended up leaving it there. Justin gave me a call and explained everything they found. I felt the price was very fair and they were honest about what needed to be done. Justin even said I can bring my car by if I need air in my tires or anything. I found my new service shop

This is THE spot for all your car repair needs. The technicians all super knowledgeable and honestly the customer service is fantastic. They drove me home and picked me back up after my car was ready. They even reset some tricky codes on my BMW for free, whereas all the big ticket service stores either tried charging $70 for, or told me I needed new parts. Highly recommend these guys!

Dropped my car off knowing it had a bunch of issues. They independently found all the issues, walked me through the options for fixing each and gave a very honest opinion on the value of fixing each problem. Didn't try to up-sell me or offer me anything unnecessary. Prices were reasonable, car was fixed when they said it would be. Great service, would definitely return.

Moving to a new town always makes me apprehensive about where i'm going to take my car for regular maintenance and care. I found a gem in Felix's Auto Service. Peter and his trusty partner Justin are stand up guys and as good as it gets, with excellent customer service and explaining {in detail} what's going on with my car. I trust their suggestions for repairs, maintenance, and overall wellness of my vehicle. The service I've had in the past year has been of top quality. I am very pleased with their service. My car is a bit older so I did not want to spend huge sums of money on new tires and they recommended some good quality tires that weren't expensive. Also, the inspection report had no surprises like what happened last time I went to a discount place where they recommend I spent about $6000 for something I did not need. They are a local business (just a few blocks away) and I like to support to my local businesses as much I can.Services: Tires, Wheel alignment, Oil change

(Note: This is a review written approx a year after getting service with them)There's always a gut feeling when it comes to mechanics, and I drove away from Felix's with a mixed "so-so" feeling. I had gone to them based on good reviews to get a 60k service and an oil change on my car, but ended up with having a water pump and an engine mount replaced.To be fair to the shop, the engine did seem to be pretty loud and jumpy when starting so at least one of those two repairs seemed warranted, but the total bill ended up closer to $1000 which felt pretty pricey (and that's not including the double transmission fluid flushes they recommended despite me having just had that flushed by a different mechanic a year ago).But hey, they're the experts so they know what's needed / the best for the car right?Fast forward to less than a year later, the engine temp on the car started to run very close to the H line all the time, even driving <55mph. Took it to a different mechanic and turns out the temp sensor was off AND the thermostat was trigering later than it should have.Again, to be fair to the shop, it is almost a year later so those two components could reasonably be broken in that time. On the flip side, the shop had done a full service inspection and worked on exactly the system that had issues (coolant system and water pump replacement), so I don't feel like there should have been issues in that system that soon.At the end of the day mechanics are about gut feel, and with a different mechanic, my cooling loop issue was fixed (plus some other issues with tires + power windows) for ~$400 and I had a good gut feeling.With Felix's I ended up walking away with a "eh" gut feel, a pretty large bill, and a problem in the exact part of the car they had worked on less than a year later. Not 1-star material, but certainly not a 5-star and definitely worthy of a review so others can decide for themselves.

I've been using Felix's Auto Service for about 10 years. The service is great and I've never had any issues with the work performed, which has included everything from brakes, shocksand a wheel alignment last month on my Suburban to and a Suburu engine rebuild about 10 years ago. I really appreciate Peter's honesty in telling what I need and likewise what I don't need... example, I asked once: MAKE THIS CAR SAFE FOR MY SON WHO'S OFF TO COLLEGE IN SoCAL. He gave me a run down of everything and suggest only certain services that needed to be done before Christmas break. Honesty. Fair Prices.Services: Steering & suspension repair, General repairs & maintenance, Electrical, Engine repair, Wheel alignment, Brakes, Battery, Oil change

Went there to do the air in the tire and fixed the back blacked out light. Justin was so honestly giving the best advice for replacing tires in America tire as it might be cheaper. And yea, will be a returning customer for sure.

We recently joined the Bay Area chapter of the "They stole my Prius' Catalytic Converter" club and learned about Felix's anti-theft solution from Pete's brother who towed our car for service. Since we were not eager to repeat our initiation, we brought the Prius to Felix's after it was repaired and had them armor our shiny new catalytic converter. Pete and Justin were awesome - they explained their solution thoroughly, were courteous and professional and most importantly completed the job faster than expected within in a few hours from when we dropped the car off without an appointment. I Highly recommend this shop! Their work was great and the pricing was fair and competitive. Thank you.

The folks at Felix could not have been nicer and more professional. I went there to get a guard put on my Prius to prevent my catalytic converter from being stolen after I read about their services on Nextdoor. Before I went they fully explained what the process entails and what it would and would not do to my car. They were able to take me the same week and the process of dropping off and picking up the car was smooth and pleasant. Although a commercial part to prevent catalytic converter theft could have been ordered online for less money the installation charge would ve been higher at other places I called and Felix s combined package of parts and labor was the best deal I found anywhere

Felix Auto is always able to get my car into the shop in a timely manner. They explain what is needed and have not done unnecessary repairs. Prices are standard. It isn t hard to find a hard working shop, but finding a shop with the intelligence to solve complex issues is! Peter and the guys at this shop have helped me out a ton in the past! Highly recommend!
