These guys are awesome ! They are very knowledgeable and technical. My tire pressure lights was on for almost a year. I have visited some tire shop and dealer in order to get it back to working but no luck. The technician here is really caring and detail oriented, he root caused the problem quickly and fixed it. Thanks a lot !

I called needing help right away as my tail light was out. I was able to come in within 30 mins and they fixed light and got me on my way. Kind of pricey but quick efficient service. Thanks team!

Hey these guys are excellent!It starts from the front all the way to the back garages. No complaints about pricing; it's always the labor that kIlls you!They're thorough about your car and take the time to walk and talk you through your repairs. I'm going back! I fully trust them. Update July 2022: Dan retired and it is now AAA (there is a discount if you're a member), but several of the original employees are still there. Went 8n for an oil change, but they also did an all around check of the car and proactively gave quotes for new brakes/tires (which I already knew the car needed). They do a good job of not trying to sell you services you don't need, but suggest routine maintenance before it becomes a major issue- seems like their goal is to help you maintain vehicle health.Original Review: Dan and Christian are stand up guys- they do great work for fair prices. No suggestions of unnecessary work to get you to spend more- they tell you what your car needs and take care of it. As a female that has been to some pretty terrible shops over the years, finding one that isn't condescending, treats all their customers with respect, and doesn't price gouge is more rare than you'd expect in this day and age. My family has trusted them with all of our vehicles for over a decade and we highly recommend them- many of our friends and neighbors also now customers because of our recommendations.

I took my car in to MPG for an oil change. Made an online appointment a few days ahead from the website, which was super slick & saved a call. Dropped the car off at 8:30 and it was ready around lunch - the price was fair and service was top notch. Absolutely night and day experience compared to the local Toyota dealership where I've gotten my car serviced in the past. Will definitely be a repeat customer!

This is a late review from my side, want to be honest about that.I went in for a 60K service few months ago hoping that they'd be aware of what all needs to be done for it.They only did the minor things like changing wipers, air filters to name a few. I can do this myself at home.Didn't rotate my tires, didn't say anything about brake fluid.

This is now run by AAA, and mechanics are very inexperienced and likely dishonest. I gave them my vehicle - even told them what was the possible issue with transfer case. They kept the vehicle for nearly 2 weeks, called and said it s completely fixed and tested, making me pay over $722. As soon as I got on the highway the vehicle started stalling, and same problem. Super dangerous placing a customer s life at risk saying car is fixed. I ve now had to take it back and drop off again. There diagnostic guy is now off till another several days. The mechanic who fixed this vehicle while doing test drive did not even seem to know the real problem. SUPER SHADY AND INEXPERIENCED- this is not MPG. And they are very much like amateurs. STAY AWAY.

I took in my car for a clutch change and now it has weird vibrations. They told me they can't figure out the problem so they won't honor the warranty and fix what they broke.Most reviews here are for the MPG auto business that existed at the same address before and don't reflect how AAA runs the business.

They don t value clients, they promise to call, they don t call, they promise to send a work report by email and don t send it, and they also incorrectly identify the engine check.

I'm a AAA member and delighted to find this location. Much more convenient than Brokaw rd AAA. Check light issues. Needed sway bars, corrected misfires and faulty wiring. Fibel and Brian are knowable and responsive to my car issues. 2 year warranty and AAA discount - awesome

I have been getting my car here for the last 6 years! And they have never disappointed me. They helped my car through many complicated leaks , urgent service or even guiding me on phone when I needed immediate assistance.Always great customer service from Christian and Dan. Christian is very knowledgeable too!

Previously had great luck when this was MPG auto care, but the level of care has dropped off since becoming AAA auto. Christian (who I really enjoyed working with) is now at a different shop in Mountain View, I'd go there every time over AAA...

Very impressed with my first visit to MPG. They were very attentive, even responding when I emailed on the weekend while they were closed (which is NOT something I would ever expect). I brought a car in to prepare for selling it, and they gave me some helpful advice and probably the quickest oil change I've ever had. And the oil change sticker is SUPER legible. It's a small, but helpful detail. Definitely recommend MPG Auto Service.Beware the parking lot is small so it's best to make an appointment.

I've been coming to MPG for years, and was surprised to learn that it's become AAA auto repair center when I tried to schedule a service recently. It's such a relief to see Christian when I brought the car in. Over the years, my family have learned to trust him and his team to do the right work for our cars at a fair price. Christian and Dan are honest, excellent mechanics. I took my Ford Focus there for some routine (and non-routine) work. They were very honest every step of the way and worked on a fair and reasonable pricing structure. I will definitely go back and recommend them to anyone who needs a good mechanic. Thanks guys!

I have my car there due to stall issue for over 2 months. While I give them points for some effort. I believe their misdiagnosed the issue over and over.Had problem reproducing the stall after 3 weeks, but finally was able to after following my instructions to the letter.First started with fuel pump, then reversed course and then dam shaft sensor. Lastly landed on the air intake manifold.Nothing fixed stall on my car.Asking some basic questions to Fidel which was deflected. Only comments made was due to intake manifolds which shows no symptoms of coolant leaks, or anything else one can easily find on the internet with some common deductive reasoning.Only comments Fidel makes us that they are not making money on my car and it s been fighting them. It s not rocket science! Give me options and answer my questions without repeating your suspicions which has been wrong again and again.Use deductive reasoning and not just replacing one thing after another.

The team was incredibly helpful! I spoke with someone named Chris who gave me really good advice, and I didn't feel like I was getting ripped off even though I don't know anything about cars. They were also very fast. I would recommend!

Updating the review after a recent service work, which was after the ownership change in 2022.Keeping the 5-star rating and maintaining the comment that this place fulfills one of the life's needs - a reliable auto mechanic!The service was a scheduled Acura maintenance, B1, 3. Afterward, the car feels and runs really nice and quiet. The cost was less than what was quoted at the beginning! Obviously, I was happily surprised by that - maintaining my prior experience of honesty in MPG days. Also, the cost was much less than what local Acura dealers quoted. Courteous service also remains, perhaps better than before. I'm glad to have the shop in Mountain View. Thanks, Fidel!Below is a review when it was MPG.People say one needs to have 3 professionals in the family-- a doctor, a lawyer, and an auto mechanic. MPG folks, in my humble opinion, can fill that "family" auto professional role. They are honest (recommend only what's needed) and great auto mechanics. Christian was the person I talked to on the phone. He was really good and true to the reviews I had read by then.He quoted a price over the phone, which was really good. When I brought my car in, he realized that he had under quoted the work. However, he honored the quote and did the work and excellent work at that. My car runs really great after the service. I am grateful for the good work and highly impressed with the integrity, the level of expertise, and their love of cars and good service. I will certainly return for future needs. Thanks, Christian!

Christian and team are honestly the best in the Bay Area. I moved outside of Mountain View and tried multiple mechanics closer to where I live and I haven't found anyone that comes close to MPG! There's no one I trust more to work on my car. They are kind, trustworthy, and attentive. What more could you ask for in a mechanic?! Highly recommend!

Christian has always respected my family and I whenever we need our cars serviced. He takes the time to explain what the issues are and what service may be needed. We have never felt pressured into anything and he respects thoughtful questions about the service. Trusted team and I recommend/refer all my friends to him.

After a quick call to check for a smog appointment, this procrastinator (registration due in 3 days) was happy to hear that MPG had immediate availability. Christian was super polite and professional, and the service was very efficient. Christian and his team are great! Since coming across their shop last year, I won't go anywhere else for my 2004 Subaru Forster. They are honest and will only recommend what is needed and then only charge me for the work done. If I can wait on a particular repair, Christian will tell me. They almost always are able to fit me in last minute if I am willing to drop off the car for the day. They are about 2 blocks from the Mountain View caltrain and light rail station so it's really convenient. They can communicate and send a link to the estimate by text, such is so helpful for me, as I'm in meetings all day and rarely am able to pick up a call. But I can text questions and review the quote and approve all without needing to call! So awesome! The work they have done for me so far (major tune up, repair oil leak, replace alternator) has held up with no problems. I highly recommend MPG Auto!

I was a loyal customer of MPG - please note that there is an ownership change and this is now owned by AAA. Christian, the previous owner, is now at a different shop in mountain view. Christian is now at Expert Auto Care.

It is difficult to find a mechanic you trust. I would highly recommend MPG Auto. The mechanics are skilled. Each time I took my vehicle in for an issue, it was resolved quickly and completely. In my experience with other mechanics, I would take my car in, they fixed it, but the issue was not resolved, and I had to return soon after. This is not the case with MPG Auto. Moreover, when I have taken my car in for service, the car was usually ready in about 35 minutes. Again, at the dealership or other mechanics, it was common for me to wait hours for my car to be fixed. Christian is very friendly and remembers details about you which makes you feel like he sincerely cares about you as a customer. Thank you, MPG Auto!

I never write reviews but I feel like it s so difficult to find an honest and trustworthy mechanic in the area especially as a woman. I got my smog test and oil change here on behalf of my partner and the process was clear, straightforward and efficient. MPG had made some recommendations for the car along with a detailed invoice but since my partner was out of town, he decided against it and we paid for just the smog and oil. Not once did I feel pressured into paying for something I wasn t comfortable with and my questions were always met with patience and kindness from the front desk. Think I might ve found my go-to mechanic

I like their attitude of service , I found a good coupon for transmission fluid change . I decided to give it a try for my Prius and I am glad I did. They performed well and professional, didn't promote me any un necessary service. The actual bill is less than original estimate. Right on-time as they promised to get it done. The facility is also clean and well maintained.. Good shop.. Recommended..Service: Transmission

This mechanic is great! Christian, one of the owners, is very helpful and easy to work with.When I was already a customer, and was buying a new to me car, they did a free inspection and found a number of suspicious maintenance issues. I've frequented MPG for my auto needs the past few years (oil changes, smog tests, mechanical work) and have been very impressed. They are honest and will only do work which is needed. They are also very good at explaining mechanical issues and helping me understand what is going on with my cars. Glad to have found a great mechanic that I can trust!
