They are almost always busy, which says something, "Good, honest repair shop". I've been going to them for years. Best to make an appointment. No frills, no waiting area to speak of, no coffee, etc. But, if you just want your car fixed at a fair rate this place is for you.My whole family and neighbors in the area use them. I've hadbrakes, oil change, smog check, etc.

I love this automotive repair shop. I am a woman and have been conned before by other repair shops. This place is honest and affordable. You mush show up around 8 a.m. for repair quote. I have a VW Passat and this shop is definitely professional, they do the service requested and reset the sensors correctly I highly recommend this place.

Le the owner runs a very organized and professional service for Monterey residents. There is a good energy at his shop and he takes pride in offering valuable service to his clients. Sort of limited and quick communication, but i asked for a smog check, they told me I could just drop by and I did. Got my car smog checked within 30 min which was great. These guys know what they're doing and they are very quick. Very nice place for a smog check.

Zero stars. Their negligent repair work caused me to almost have my engine blow out on me TWICE. The Subaru dealership suggested I file a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repairs because the repairs to my engine were done so poorly. The owner Thuan refused to give me a refund for the $3k in repairs that he did, and the dealership is quoting me at 5k to do the job correctly. The owner offered to repair the car for the THIRD TIME at no cost, but at this point I cannot trust anyone at that shop to complete the work correctly. The first time he repaired my oil leak it started smoking on the freeway and I had to get it towed from Monterey to Sacramento for him to fix it. I am lucky my engine did not blow up because of these people. Then in March 2021 I took the car because I told him there was an oil leak, he claimed there weren't any, so I got a second opinion from the dealership. Thank god I did, otherwise my car would be a ticking time bomb, leaking oil all over town.I'm attaching photos that the dealership took of all the leaks they found that T& T claimed I didn't have. I am a single mom and rely on my car to get my daughter and I around. This shop is unscrupulous and now I am stuck without a car and costly repairs due to their shoddy work. I will have to go to small claims court because this guy thinks he can just take advantage of me, I would be crazy to trust him for the third time to repair my oil leak correctly. STAY FAR AWAY.*UPDATE- I gave the owner a THIRD chance in order to avoid taking the legal route since he supposedly guarantees his work for two years. I had the car towed (at my expense) on May 3 and asked Thuan to give me a summary of proposed repairs before starting work. It is now two weeks later, he has my car in his possession and won't return my messages.Services: General repairs & maintenance, Oil change

Tried for weeks to get an appt here for a smog check cause they're open on Saturday and it's near my house. Came in person, it looked closed, left messages with my name, number and reason for call. They never called me back or picked up the phone so today I finally found somewhere else instead and they set me up for tomorrow (Smog Express in Marina). So quick and easy I wish I would have done it sooner. Don't waste your time with this place, apparently they're too busy to be open or call would-be customers back.

Always dependable, quick, and reasonable. I have been going here since moving to the area and have always left satisfied and with trust in my car.Additionally, my most recent visit I had an issue with another customer and he looked into it and followed up directly with me.

These are the worst people to take your car to. No respect for the customers. The guy in the office does not answer questions and does not communicate at all. They told me to come in the morning. Brought my car early in the morning to replace brakes, came back before close and they did not even touch it. Wasted a whole day with my car sitting there untouched.

I needed my car to be checked before heading out on a long trip. The technician did a thorough job and cleaned up my breaks and replaced my front struts. There was a slight hiccup with the repair, I took the car back and it was promptly fixed. The owner may be a man of few words but the techs are friendly and the work is high quality. I would recommend this place to everyone. I wish I would have used them sooner as I will no longer be in the area. If you are looking for a no-nonsense shop that gets it done and does honest work then take your car to them. I am very comfortable with this place. The gentleman in charge neither sweet talk nor scare you. He will tell you in a simple way of what need to be done. Some think that he is rude or doesn't care, but in most cases that is what honest people do; tell you like is. I have been to a lot places, and this place I would recommend to friends. Thank you T & T.Update:Took a van and a truck in for new timing belts. The price was more than really reasonable (THANK YOU T & T). Now that it's more than six month later both cars run smoothly; no problem at all.

I came late in the day for an oil change & smog I did not even have proper paperwork for smog . I had no appointment and they were extremely busy . The mechanic got me in quickly . They did a great job . My car runs better now. It cost under $100 for both . Very happy with my experience. I will return again to this shop . I highly recommend this shop

Extremely rude during all interactions and he would even ignore or be nasty toward you. Over charged for services. Charged $50 for something that would take two minutes to do. Had an appointment but when I arrived he had three other customers wanting smogs as well so he took 2 hours to do a 5 minute job. Steer clear.Service: Smog certificationService: Smog certification

I wasn't sure what was wrong, but I suspected my brakes or something needed replacing. It was my brakes and rotors. He got me in on Saturday at my request and he didn't have my car all day despite being very busy! He did great work and has very reasonable prices. He seems very reliable and I am just thrilled to have found a good mechanic. I'm a happy girl.

Fast and fair price for a smog check. Will be bringing in my car again for more service and hoping I leave feeling as happy as I did last time! *addition to my original review* brought my car back for a check engine light and SO THANKFUL I came back here! Left overly satisfied with the work done (quickly too) and didn't feel ripped off like EVERY other shop I've been to! Thank you Thuan! Customer for life!

We were in from out of town when our car began making a weird noise. The technicians were so helpful and literally dropped what they were doing to help us out so we could still make our travel schedule back home. Not only that, but the problem was quickly diagnosed and we made it home safe. The efforts of T&T are so appreciated!

Very poor service my mom couldn't make her appointment so I decided to drive her vehicle there she had been waiting for aLong time so she didnt want to miss it I let the mechanic know I was there for 8am appt. After 30 minutes or so told me he didnt have the oil filter? After having all the info on the car he didnt order the part what kind of rinky dink outfit is this? If I where you I wouldn't bring my car there!

Worst experience here. Showed up at 6:05 for a smog inspection, was told they stop at 6pm even though there is nothing online or on Google about that. I asked if he could help me out quick or tell me where I could go and he said no and asked me to leave. Never going back.Service: Smog certificationService: Smog certification

Thuan is a great mechanic. He is fair, it's an easy location near the Fairgrounds, he has reasonable prices and the repairs get done within a decent time frame. I take both my German cars there and I am pleased. Also, they are the best when it comes to smog checks, too! $40 for a check and the certificate is the best deal in town! Thank you!

Thuan is very professional and works quietly, but efficiently. I have done smog test twice at this place and I have not been disappointed. Took my work vehicle in asking for an oil and filter change with tire rotation. In and out in less than 2 hours. No upsell here.I'd call in advance to get an appointment. Thuan seems to have people coming in non-stop. Otherwise, great place to get work done.

I had the same experience as Cliff Caton comments below. I thought it was me until I read the reviews. I really thought maybe I had offended him in some way. It was strange and uncomfortable, like I needed to apologize for something.Attached Cliff Caton's comments:Don't be fooled by photos and hype. Went to get a smog and was ignored for 5 minutes while they walked by me (really true). Finally I asked about a smog as mechanic walked by me. He said not right now and I asked when. He kept walking and didn't respond. I waited for about 10 minutes and he never came back. I've been in the auto repair field for forty years and believe me this place is a dive plus they are rude and unprofessional. If they had no stars I would post that.

Nasty! Disgusting! I have no idea why this place has high rating. Extremely rude. I was there for 10 minutes yelling hello hello. I didn't know where the office was but then I realized he is in the office and not responding! When I politely asked if he can do smog check for me he said he doesn't have time for me! There is NO ONE in his shop. It's very sad that people like him are in business. Take your business somewhere else and save your day from this nasty guy.UPDATE:I then went to Mike's Auto and got my smog done. Nice, super quick firendly and cheap.
