Vehicle inspection was very thorough and I was able to fix many small items in my car. They also did an excellent job of re-evaluating an issue a previous shop had identified and fixing it. Highly recommend this shop for their thoroughness and trustworthiness.

There are plenty of choices out there, and I could have gone with any other car repair shop. It was my first time ever needing to take my car to a repair shop in Monterey as I am new in the area, and I'm glad I brought it to Pacific Motor Service.Look, any good, decent, honest automotive technician is going to do a good job, but it's when one goes the extra mile that a business, in this case, a car repair shop, will stand out. First of all, my very first interaction over the phone with Beatrice (I hope I'm spelling her name correctly) was wonderful. She was attentive, clear, respectful, and always sounded like she was smiling (yeah, I know, but you know you can hear that). Once I showed up, Rory (again, I hope I'm at least close to how you spell his name) was smiling, respectful, attentive, kind, and even used the adjective "lovely" every time he referred to my old car.This sort of customer service is the very first impact with your customer and will set the vibe for the remaining of the interactions you'll have with this business, and I was happy to stick with them.My specific car issue was a "check-engine" light that came on one day, and turned off the next. I just wanted to make sure it got checked and my car was safe to drive. They performed a diagnostic, found what the issue was and repaired it, as well as a leaky tire I was unfortunate to have while driving to Pacific Motor Service.They're a bit pricier to what I am used to, but I would not knock a star off from their review for that. They're service, their attention was memorable and I would definitely recommend them to whomever may need a good mechanic.

This place is a real class act. Beatrice is very kind and knowledgeable, and was able to assist in every way I needed her too. The prices are fair, the work area is clean and professional, and the people who run it are KIND and HONEST! Also very good with older German cars. Highly recommend

Both Beatrice & Rory are very pleasant, cheerful, professional and intelligent.I visited the Monterey facility yesterday as Rory promptly took the car to the mechanic staff.They performed diagnostic tests on the car and completed everything within 1 hour.Rory explained everything to me.The SURPRISING finally was that the service they performed was COMPLIMENTARY!!!Thank you for your courtesy and generosity.Safwst

I've taken my 2005 Jaguar and other vehicles to Pacific Motor Service on Franklin Street for over 10 years and have experienced nothing but prompt, top shelf service. Rory and Beatrice at the service desk are utmost professionals and have always been pleasant, honest, fair, and accommodating. In my experience, it's the best auto repair shop on the Monterey Peninsula.

Fantastic capable, expert and most important honest Service department you can find anywhere. Highly recommended. Did not try to sell me unnecessary services. Front desk service advisors were super knowledgeable and able to speak in layman' language.

The crew here have always provided honest and fair service. I was recommended to them about a decade ago and it has been the best experience ever since. They are considerate and personable when needed.10 years of maintenance on multiple vehicles over hundreds of thousands of miles of maintenance, routine and unexpected repairs alike. It is not always fun paying for a large repair but knowing someone is genuine on the other side does make it a little easier to accpet.

They are super nice folks and I'm not claiming that I was ripped off. However, outcomes are outcomes and my outcome was changing my own ignition coil in the Napa Autoparts parking lot after spending $1,200+ on a new mass air flow sensor, air filter cleaning, and spark plug re-torque at Pacific Motor Service. While I'm glad I now have a clean filter and a new MAF sensor, those weren't the issues that caused the misfire and subsequent check engine light. After I brought it back when it threw another check engine light the same day I picked it up the first time, they did another diagnostic (that I wished they had done the first time and saved me $1,000) and discovered that it was an ignition coil. They get two stars because they didn't charge me for the second diagnostic but they also didn't offer to make anything right and pre-emptively argued that they were correct in doing the initial $1,200 in work. They also said they wouldn't want to just replace the one ignition coil and recommended I do it myself. I left the shop with the same check engine light that brought me there after two trips to the shop and out $1,200+. The car ran great after I installed the ignition coil at Napa's parking lot. Would not recommend Pacific Motor Service.

Took our BMW in and had multiple things fixed. They did an excellent job! We are very happy with the service they provided. Definitely will use them again for our car services! I have taken my Mini Cooper to Pacific Motor Co. for years now, and continue to trust that their work is great and the office people are as well. They take my car in when I get there and I wait for them to finish. New brakes this week. My mini purrs like a kitten and it s 10 years old!

Excellent customer service. Walked me thru the process every step of the way. Turned out one surprising but expensive problem with my car is covered under warranty, and they were very gracious and understanding when I had to decline the work. However, everything else they did, from providing shuttle service to fixing the rest of the issues, were done efficiently. My car was as clean as I left it. I mean, the whole experience was exemplary. Thank you so much.

Pacific Motors is an exceptional car service. Took my Mini Cooper in for annual service. Work was done quickly. The service staff both on the phone and in person were super nice, efficient and helpful. Highly recommend them.

We had some unexpected trouble with our Toyota Rav 4 while on vacation in Monterey. We live 3 hours away and wanted to make sure it was safe to drive before heading home. We took it to Pacific Motor Service and let me just say this was easily the best mechanic experience either of us have ever had and one of the best general customer service experiences as well. We ended up needing quite a bit of work done (front end struts and shocks) and they were able to complete all of it the very next day so that we could go home. Rory, the person who we primary dealt with, is an excellent communicator and we felt very well informed and taken care of. The other woman (so sorry I forgot her name) on staff was also very accommodating. They even held onto my luggage in the office while the car was being worked on so they I didn't have to lug it around town. I'm so happy with this service that I would honestly consider going back to Monterey for any serious car repairs just to go to this shop. Can whole headtedly recommend this business. Thank you very much to this excellent team!

My car needed some leaks repaired and I had taken my door panel off to repair a window switch, I couldn't put the panel back on. Everything is back together. My car is great and I'm happy as usual. I always feel confident things will be done in a timely manner and running as it should. Rory and the entire team at Pacific Motor Service in Monterey are the best. They really know their way around our little 2005 Prius (Gen2). Always have your budget in mind along with an eye out for what will keep the car safe and working in top shape.

Rory, Beatrice and the whole team at Pacific Motor were wonderful this week. Rory especially was incredibly kind, personable, communicative and professional. Our car needed quite a bit of maintenance on a tight timeline and the Pacific Motor crew went above and beyond to accommodate us. Rory provided frequent and thorough communication which was so appreciated given that we aren t from the area. Rory made us feel confident and comfortable trusting that the work he and his team did was appropriate. I have only drove it home from Service. However, I did not hear any noises when I turn the car to the right or left. Customer Service is excellent, caring, attentive, and helpful. Rory and Bea are excellent problem solvers. They consistently exceed my expectations, and do so with such professionalism. When I got a flat tire, they found me a rental and sent me on my way in no time while my car got new tires. Highly recommend this shop!

My car was making excessive noise, due to belts needing replacing. I was able to drop my car off the next business day at opening. Beatrice and Rory were very professional and knowledgeable and displayed outstanding customer service skills. And thank you to the team who repaired my car! Beatrice in the front office was very thorough explaining what needed to be done to my Mercedes. I had normally used the Mercedes dealership in Monterey, but after a really bad mid/diagnostic to my car and almost a $14,000 repair .Pacific Motor Service was able to fix for a fraction of the price and was very reasonable. Job was done quickly and I was very satisfied!!!!Services: Auto battery replacement, Auto engine diagnostic

I appreciate the thorough inspections from the technicians and service recommendations from the Team. Rory and Beatrice provide clear information without adding on pressure to perform services that are not urgent. I've been taking my car to Pacific Motor Service for almost 10 years, and now I bring in my wife's car and my dad's for regular service. It brings me peace of mind to work with a team that I can trust.
